I love that there is a baby changing station in the mens bathroom, you dont see that very often and it really needs to be more common.
That what I thought. We need to have more appreciation for single dads or any dad that has a baby
My husband and I are always so glad when there's a change station in the men's room
Yessirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Oh well I wouldn't know lol I use the women's bathroom XD
Why is no one call it a changing table? Am I the only one lol
One of my husband's biggest complaints after becoming a father was that there were so few changing tables in the men's bathrooms! GOOD FOR YOU! 💕
One of the best things I've ever seen is a baby station closet outside the gendered doors. It was about the size of one of those stall for people with wheelchairs, it had privacy and was kept cleaner than the stalls. Absolutely awesome.
As soon as I saw the hole spacing, I was getting excited!! We hekking love inclusivity!!
My husband only worked part time and had the kids most of the time. He hated it to many places he had to place his sweatshirt on the floor of a dirty public restroom to change my kids
Yes!! Like seriously thank you for putting change tables in BOTH of your bathrooms!
I was glad to see that. At one of the businesses I worked at, both restrooms had changing tables. Since I worked closing a lot, I frequently cleaned the bathrooms and I made sure to give the changing tables a really good cleaning with anti-microbacterial and antiviral sprays and wipes. Like anything that people might remotely touched.
idea for the "storage rock": when you dont need it for storage anymore, fill it up with shallow water and put colour changing lights inside. make it a type of wishing well for when you open the zoo. the lights will make the water look more magical for younger audiences. maybe put a little statue of a snake or another reptile inside the water
Oooh thats a good idea
(:
Awesome idea!!!
Dang thats genius!!! Especially for the little kids who come to visit!!!
& all the money collected can be donated to an animal rescue or something
Just a word about disabled parking spaces! While being close to the doors is lovely they also need a space/aisle on both sides that a wheelchair can fit in! This is so people can transfer into their wheelchair which isnt possible if theyre a foot from another car
Yes that was a concern of mine too. They need to remove two of those front four parking spots to make a safe space on both sides for handicap parking.
Edit: by removing 'two' of the spaces I mean the second spot on each row, then move the handicap space over a bit and paint the crossed lines in for the alley on both sides of the handicap space.
Perhaps just paint over the line between the first two spaces, so drivers have space on the specific side of the vehicle they need it.
@@wildflower1397 a handicap space should always have room on both sides for it to be safe and usable. And it should have enough room for a ramp and the ramp still be accessible to a wheelchair if another car is parked next to it. One side is not always enough if the handicap vehicle needs to park on the second set of lines to make their ramp usable and accessible from the other side. This is just my thoughts on it though.
Reverse parking is not that hard 🤨
@@lemonpaperplanes Indeed however the current space next to the parking space is part of the road, there will be cars driving there and not everyone will stop for disabled people so its incredibly dangerous. Even if it wasnt dangerous what if theres more than one disabled person in the car and both sides are needed? Or what if someone simply doesnt want to reverse park. Disabled people are still people and deserve options and safety :)
Can everyone just appreciate how much work everyone puts into this building?
Ikr its insane!
It's the coolest pet store/facility I've ever seen!
Yea
But also have fun when doing it
I mean you know it won't be a mom allowing their kids to go get a reptile lmao I had my Colombian red tail for years before I moved across the continent and she never touched him once.
I’m glad y’all put a baby changing station in the men’s room. Breaks the stereotype of men not being able to change or take care of babies a bit
Its awesome :)
Yes
Definitely, I’m glad they’ve tried to stop the stereotype
Especially because there are lots of single parents out there! Men/women/nonbinary friends
And also gay couples with children
May I recommend, as a disabled person with limited mobility, have plenty of seating, even in the zoo
Having a couple spare collapsable wheelchairs to lend out to people would also be helpful!
Yes, please have a bench or two... some of us get tired of standing around long before the kids decide they have had enough, lol. Also, a place for moms to nurse... a public bathroom is just about the nastiest place I can think of to feed your baby.
@@wildflower1397 dont bring your infant baby into a zoo in the first place maybe? They wont remember it and nobody likes a crying kid, get a babysitter
@@lemonpaperplanes Sorry, but this is a bit insensitive. It's really not good for infants to be away from the parent(s) for long periods of time. Plus, it's good for the baby's development to get out and see new things. It's dangerous and unadvisable to leave a young infant with someone else.

I don’t know if you’re planning on adding this or already did, but maybe add foam padding on the top of the little “doorway” (I can’t think of a better name for it) at the entrance and exit to the crawl-through tunnel for Rex’s enclosure! As a wheelchair user, I feel the need to ask you to make sure your ramps aren’t multiple inches higher than the sidewalk. The casters get stuck and you can get dumped forward out of your chair. Also 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thank you for putting a changing table in the men’s room.
I think in an earlier update they said they’ve been in contact with the city to make sure the ramps are up to standard (so the incline isn’t too steep, etc.)
As a wheelchair user, I can honestly tell you that "up to standard" means NOTHING. The "standard" is literally just the bare minimum to not get fined.
Having the ramp higher or lower than the sidewalk/parking lot has caused me to be dumped out of my wheelchair on numerous occasions but as long as the height difference is below a certain amount, it's still within the legal standard, even though it's enough to dump someone on their face.
Also "up to standard" means they can legally (and I've come across this countless times in my life) put the only curb cut (ramp from parking lot to sidewalk) on the opposite end of the building to where you have to leave the rest of your group and go to the opposite end of the building, often going through utility/ storage rooms and down long halls to get to the room right inside the main entrance where everyone else is. This also means that unless you're willing to be carried or are able to walk (because 99% of the time they won't let you crawl down) stairs, you have to go through that long hall again to exit.
Places being "up to standard" means they are technically "handicap accessible" but that's much different than "handicap friendly" and things being legal, yet still not handicap friendly has lead to many situations that are humiliating to say the least.
@@SpeedDemonStar Yes! Up to code does not mean safe, easy to use, or respectful to wheelchair users. We need better laws/codes, and many good ones need to be need to be better enforced. Thanks for speaking up! :)
@@wildflower1397 Absolutely!! @@SpeedDemonStar Ouch! I have always wondered why the don't put roll bars or something on wheelchairs? You make it sound like using a wheelchair is akin to always being on a carnival ride, lol. Perhaps you need a helmet? Hopefully they will invent hover chairs soon. :)

You could have like a "leader board" set up where you "award" the zoo animals for stuff like "best eater", "messiest inhabitant", "escape artist (lol hopefully not)", "showoff" etc. etc.
I think it would be really funny and give a lot of personality to the animals, especially if you have lots of younger people come in they could recognize or look for the animals on the leaderboard and be like "Omg this is Rex! She holds the spot of most toys destroyed!"

I have an idea for the turtle pond. Mangrove. You add a fake tree to cover up any bits that need to be hidden and but roots coming from the base of the tree into the water. Add some flat rocks for the turles to bask on, and put some fake butterflies on the tree, it would add colour and educational value since some butterflies drink turtle tears
