What a fantastic dealership. Last year I purchased a 2022 Gold Wing with Roadsmith trike kit installed. I live in Hawaii so I made the deal over the phone. I flew from Albany,Georgia to Chattanooga to get my 2023 DCT TOUR. It was a great experience. The bike was prepared and ready to go. Bill Spearman picked me up at the airport. It took a little over an hour to do the paperwork. Everything matched the quote . No added hidden cost. I would do it all again. My Wing is awesome. Not one issue with it.

Great video and great dealership! I did a group ride from Georgia to this dealership when the 2018 model was released for a ride event. I test-rode a blue 6-speed and enjoyed it. I September of 2023 I purchased my new 2023 DCT Tour from this same dealer after the easiest online vehicle purchase I could imagine! And I purchased at $1900 under MSRP without the motorcycle build fees I was encountering at dealers in metro Atlanta! Plus the Gold Strike anchor points were already installed on my new bike, free of charge, to make that made securing my bike to my trailer much easier and quicker! TOP NOTCH and worthy of level 5 dealer!

I found an 01 Goldwing 8 hours away in Oregon. I rented a car, and rode the bike home. This was years ago. Had a blast.

Here’s what happened for me-
After watching the podcast I figured I would see what Southern Honda could do for me on a Rebel 1100 DCT for Mrs RTC. It took a little effort and a couple of attempts to get a response from them-2 days these days is an eternity. Once I did get a response, way too much back and forth for something pretty cut and dry. After getting two local quotes from where I bought each of my Gold Wings, I asked for a out the door price, providing them with my home location to calculate tax and still got an X plus tag and title figure instead of a actual hard number.
I your playing along at home and keeping score, that’s strike three. Although the savings may be there, it a 580 mile each way trip and I would say not worth it, IMHO.

For those of you that think that comments on CZcams don’t get peoples attention, let me tell you why that is 100% not true! My comments here about my experience with Southern Honda were not an attempt to get a better deal, actually, it was just to share my personal experience. Apparently Kyle Downey read my comments and did something about it. I just got off the phone with him, on his personal cell phone, while handling a family situation, a few minutes ago and had a long conversation about my entire experience up to this point with Southern Honda Powersports, and he took a personal interest in what took place. To the point that he put together a quote for what I was exactly looking for in an attempt to make things right, not necessarily sell me a motorcycle.

Have bought 3 motorcycles from Southern and had at one time a working relationship with them when I was the District Director for the former GWRRA and did the TN yearly rally at the Camp Jordon. Great informational video sir! Good thing I live in Nashville, Tennessee. I've heard of this dealership but never been there. I just have to wait for the 2025 DCT Tour (50th Anniversary model) to be released and I know where I will be going to buy one.

Great Dealership! I did just as described in the podcast. I flew from Indiana to Chattanooga, my 2023 DCT Baggert was ready for me and I rode it 400+ miles down to our home in South Georgia. I did everything via email and it was a 5 star experience. They are a great group of people to deal with and also as stated, the price is the price. No BS charges.

This is the easiest choice in the world - I will travel ANYWHERE in the US to get a good deal. And when it comes to service - who needs it - I have Cruiseman pointing the way!

While these guys must be doing something right by selling so many Wings, he's spot on about off-road focused dealers wanting to move Wings. Honda forces all their dealers to take at least 1 Wing, and dealers who don't want them will probably unload it at near cost. I paid $28,500 otd including 6% tax for my 2023 DCT Tour last Feb the day after it came in on my pre-arranged deal and they delivered it to my home. My nearest Powerhouse dealer in Michigan was over $32k otd.

I purchased my 2020 manual from Southern Powersports. Drove from Knoxville, TN to Chattanooga due to the prices and the availability of inventory. Enjoyed this episode. I like that Southern Honda posts pricing. In 2008, I was going to them (from Eastern, NC) to purchase a Level 3 GW. I took that pricing to my local GW dealer to see if he could match the price. Surprising they did. I always want to keep my money local if possible, but I was certainly ready to head to TN had things not worked out.

I bought my 2021 DCT Tour in Ardent Red/Black from Dodd's. No offense Kyle and Southern Honda, but this was in late 2021, and finding them was TOUGH. Leon Dodd was able to find me a demo model with ~300 miles on it, and he gave me a considerable discount. I really like that place, and I'm sure I'd love Southern as well. Both do business straight forward and with transparency - that'll win my business every time! Great video to both Cruiseman and Kyle!

Good video… 85,000 miles on my Goldwing switched to a BMW 1600 GTL… far and away superior engine performance & handling however the wing is superior on very long rides & two up. maybe someday ill be slow enough to ride a wing again. Appreciate both bikes but for now my slow riding is on my Cvo ultra.

I have been in that dealership quite a few times before an after they upgraded. The grand opening for the new place was in the middle of the shortage. Everything I looked at in the showroom at the grand opening was sold. They made deals to keep them to not have an empty showroom on the grand opening.
I was just up at that shop. It is by far the nicest one I’ve ever been in. The people are very knowledgeable excellent selection great video.

I feel pretty dedicated to my local dealership but if the difference is a couple thousand dollars then I'm all in. May '21 I bought my K1600GTL from the BMW dealer in Nashville. Flew down and rode it 1000 miles back (2 days) to central MN. Had never been on a bike over 700cc or 550#. It was an awesome experience I would absolutely repeat (but maybe a GW next 😉).

Great interview. You asked all the questions I would have asked. And guess what? Because of this interview, I choose Southern Honda to buy my first Goldwing! I’m actually not ready just yet ( personal stuff) but when the times come I’ll make a trip to Chatanooga from NYC to pick up my bike. I made a call today. I spoke with Sammy . He answered all my questions without any pressure and told me to call back when I’m ready. So different to the sales people here in the city!

If you think Goldwings are hard to get, try an NC... I finally got mine last spring after waiting more than a year for one to show up at my dealer.
I want to see the Honda NT1100 show up in the US. I believe it has a re-tuned Africa Twin engine, and seems to be a great touring bike. I would consider buying one over bikes like the FJR1300, or GSX-S 1000 GT+, or R1250RT. I see it like a smaller Gold Wing. Fingers crossed.
5 hour drive one way... think I'll go somewhere closer, but seems like a better dealership than most.

Knock on wood. We haven't seen any issues like that yet. But will keep you posted if we hear anything.
While I didn’t buy from them directly, I did buy my 2018 GW from someone who did. I live in Atlanta and use them for any service needs rather than the jokers 10 miles from my house. I got two quotes from the same dealer $200 apart from each for an 8000 mile service. Southern motorsports were much less.
The Honda supply chain is a joke. Went to one dealer who has 2 Transalps that have been there for weeks. Go 20 miles up the road, and the dealer has 10 people on the waiting list with nothing projected to arrive soon.
During the pandemic we had to get real creative to find units through dealer trades and pre-owned bike sales. Post pandemic we are thankful to see our inventory to return to the normal with 750+ in stock. Some models are harder to find than others but wed love a shot at tracking one down for you!
How is the service dept. after a sale?
When I saw your video it looked like the only color they had was white and black...I live here in tn and have been thinking of a wing over a harley but I'm not a fan of white and black at all
There were some gray and black, but they were airbags or manual trans.

It has me thinking about a new '24 Gold Wing Tour. I am not sure if I want to trade in my 2014 Street Glide Special, I bought new or just buy one out right. I saw a white '24 GW this weekend and it caught my attention sitting in a parking lot. I am in Northwest Ohio so it would be a roundtrip. So, what do you think 🤔🤔🤔 @SHPSKyleDowney

I got my first Honda mini bike in 1971, have purchased many bikes since then, and currently am still riding a Honda street bike. It is pretty well known, that Honda is playing the game a lot of companies do, and that is supplying motorcycles they want you to buy, not want you want to buy. Case in point, is the Honda NT 1100, which is only available in Europe/ Asia ( i believe ) , but not North America. The NT would be a good replacement for the ST series, but of course not perfect, because the NT is chain drive, so some would say, once again, if you want a sport/ tour type bike, you gotta spend big money for a Goldwing. Supposedly this is because marketing does not want competition with the Goldwing. They seem to want the high income earner only, when it comes to bikes for the street, that would qualify as a Sports tourer or a Tourer. Some would say, Honda has abandoned American customers , and variety, compared to the rest of the World.
ALL OF THAT IS VERY INTERESTING 🤔
YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY GOLD WINGS ARE FOR OLD MEN AND I IS OLD 😁😁
There are a lot of bikes Europe gets we would love to see however there are other factors at play like our super strict EPA regulations limits the options on what models they bring into the States. We see the same thing in the auto market as well.

Yes and no....Typically we see manufactures use the EURO 5 as a baseline standard then make adjustments to meet EPA guidelines. They may be stricter in areas the US in not and vice versa. I'd bet we will see it at some point the question is when. @@flexjay87
The Honda gold wing is the best motorcycle ever built, the all new boxer 6 cylinder engine can see miles as high as 800,000 with on time proper maintenance.

Recalls suck no doubt but Honda makes it easy for us to stand behind their products and take care of customers!
I would not be afraid of buying a new Goldwing. Never had one fail me.

What made you choose this place?
I did not purchase my bike there, but one of my CZcams friends has bought several bikes from them and introduced me to Kyle. Since they are the largest Goldwing dealership in the country, I thought he would be a good guest for the show.

We could probably sell more here in Ohio if Honda wouldn't pick and choose who gets certain things
They tell us unit availability is based on last year sales or "contribution" but our units invoiced dropped almost 30% every year for the last decade.

We went in there today to look at Honda Goldwings because we plan on buying one outright in the next month or so. Not one person acknowledged us. The store was also not busy at all. We also walked the entire store and we were there for a good 30 mins or so. We are a younger couple and seems that they went straight to the older folks to see if they needed help. Makes us want to consider buying somewhere else. Surprising since we heard good things.
That is very unusual. Certainly not my experience nor anyone else I have talked to. If you go back, ask for Kyle and he will make sure you are taken care of.

They should complain to Honda about the color choices they have. Or lack of color selection. Black & white is so boring
Agreed boring colors much as most hate to admit I see some beautiful cool looking Harley colors out there also Honda auto line is boring colors too, do they know there is more than white paint available out there.
