After managing to defeat most of Deshret's Relics guards, Dehya finally found her father Kusayla's cane. She then unsheathed a toy sword from out of it, and then relieved the good old days of her childhood where she played with her father in swordfight fairy tales. She fantasized about slaying dragons and playing along with the lines "I hereby proclaim our victory!" Finally, Dehya uttered the phrase "Evil shall plague us no more, dad." This cutscene recorded in full length in HD quality and English VA is part of Dehya's Story Quest Mantichora Chapter: Act I officially titled "Lionsblood" with a subpart titled "Sincerity's Facade".

What's most sad about her backstory is that her father wasn't actually her real father, but he raised her as his own and died in an effort to give her as decent life as possible.

From what Dehya described his dad, I was picturing him to be just another bad parent faking his kindness but after thhe quest I was shown that all of it was genuine and all the stuff he did was whats best for her.
Keep also in mind that Dehya's dad isn't actually her real biological dad. He just raised her as if she were his daughter.

I can't believe I actually cried, I've never cried on any story or archon quests before but I was in tears with Dehya's story quest...
This may probably be one of the best Character Quests in all of Sumeru. I really loved it.
I love how Dehya's Quest was actually focused on her backstory and her character rather than 10% the character it was supposed to be about and 90% some random NPC. Also, *Dehya as a child is so adorable.* 🥰
The budget of this story quest probably came from her botched kit.

This Story Quest brought me to tears. I absolute LOVE how it focused on how Dehya came to be, and even gave us a glimpse of her true origins at the end of it. Hands down, it's up there as one of my favorite Story Quests alongside Raiden Shogun Act 2 and Zhongli Act 2.
Tighnari's quest is still saddest to me but goddamn this one came close. What a damn good quest for Dehya. Actually revolving around her background and not a random NPC they found on the street

i really hope we someday get to hear her say those final words with total pride after a big battle. Her, cyno and al haitham are clearly here to play a big role in the story (with them mirroring the trio that founded sumeru, their mysterious pasts and their constellations) so dehya becoming a legendary hero of teyvat and being known for those exact words would be beyond beautiful ❤️
Can i say that this one is probably the best interpretation i've ever seen about Alhaitham, Cyno and Dehya? Its just perfect, fits them so well and i love it as much as i love those three characters

It's just that in your narrow herd mentality, characters who dont know a lot about fights automatically become useless, while in art you are generally a complete zero. Just to add, Nilou could have been jailed for performing a dance in public, and she had the guts to do it, so what makes her different from the rest? People are hypocrites
Even tho they massacred her kit but they did good on her story fully focusing on her backstory unlike some other characters focus on NPC. Very good and sentimental just wish i could use my own dehya than the trial the trial one is really underwhelming.
You should be able to use her if you have your own Dehya in the party. At least, that's how it's always been with character quests and trials
If it helps, the Dewflower's Glow artifact set was somewhat leaked today. It seems to be perfect for Dehya
2 Piece: 20% HP (she scales with HP and attack)
4 Piece: 10% damage buff to burst and E skill. If the character using this set gets damaged, the buff is increased to 80% and can stack to 5 times with individual timers, lasting up to 8 seconds each buff (total of 400% damage buff). it is in effect EVEN if the character is not on the field.
And since her kit is built around taking damage for others and stuff... again, seems perfect
@@TheGameRuler It seems rather sad that her buff is an artifact set that we have to farm when it has been clear since beta that she needed one. The development that goes into this game is truly ridiculous.
In any case, that artifact set will certainly be something worth getting.

I knew what I was getting when I decided to pull for Dehya. I mentally prepared myself for the worse and I have zero regrets pulling for her and her weapon. After doing her story mission I felt even more proud that I followed my heart more than my brain. 😎
Having a Dehya is not a gameover, just pull for any character that you want
How proud must Kusayla have been knowing Dehya to not only destroy Deshret's Relics, but also have a hand in saving the entire Sumeru.

My theory is that if you look at the title of the story quest it says 'lion's bloodline' and if you look closely at deyha she has ears and yellow eyes that matches the lion kind and she is also Soo strong and brave as a lion ...

Finally! A character story quest that is about the character and not some random NPC. They gutted her numbers but her story quest was top-tier.
Hoyo gave the budget of dehya to the writers of her story, instead of the dev team, and they got salty that they cucked up her kit in protest

After playing Nilou's story quest, I said the writers failed because they gave the story the debate to a random NPC when it could have been Nilou's backstory and her father that she had a debate with. Well, looked like listened this time. The backstory was Dehya's and not some random NPC.

Same thoughts on Nahida and Alhaithem quests, very similar to each other.
Her story quest was so good, even despite not being a major role in the story like an Archon. It was also very relatable to me personally as well. I really like Dehya, just wished her E duration was a lot longer (like 15-20 seconds instead of the 9 or whatever) and her burst was a stance swap like Raiden Ei or Cyno, so she just punched stuff for like 8 seconds, almost like a wannabe Kokomi ult but melee

similar to Dehya herself, Kusayla is named after a historical North African figure of the same name. He was a Christian Berber ruler of the Kingdom of Altava in modern-day Algeria. That being said the historical Kusayla is not related to the historical Dehya/Al-Kahina
come to think of it, Dehya's background story is somewhat similar to Buddy from the game Lisa, an abandoned baby girl found crying in the desert
I did this quest to get the primos, so I didn't prepared any tissues...
Needless to say, I was a bit of a wreck at the end of this one. 😂
