Very educational for me . We don't have any sandfleas here in Corpus Christi, Texas . Be Safe Brother.

No sand fleas in Corpus Christi? What food sources are native to the surf by you?

@@SaltSquatch from what I see there's not much difference between Florida and Texas fishing other than the water ( You have better water ) and not having sandfleas . I enjoy your videos . Seeing you taking your son out is amazing . Making memories brother.

Guys, you do know that is not a male sand flea right? The sand flea or mole crab is in genus Emerita. What you are displaying is either a Webster's mole crab Lepidopa websteri (probably) or a Lepidopa benedicti. Just to clarify, male sand fleas are actually quite small and attach to the abdomen of the female. They are probably neotenous. Good to see the youngsters enjoying themselves.

Night time will help you crack the sandflea code,if you catch the tide going out at one point they will all bail out together

rare find, only have found 3. there are also more rare ones. like some sand fleas look like crawfish that are very rare. I did some research
edit: those rare ones have a very brittle shell, but they are the best bait. one time I cast one out after fishing for hours with normal sand fleas, this rare one caught a fish immediately.

Heading to Florida, in a few weeks! And I am planning on hunting for bait, at night.
