Loved this video !! Coty L’amaint was my late mums signature in the 70’s and early 80’s so lovely to hear you talk about it very nostalgic in fact think I might buy a bottle for myself ❤️❤️ ❤
I recently smelt a Clean perfume that is the exact scent of my mums laundry and it was like being a kid at home again…. perfume is magical, it really transports you! let me know if you get L’Aimant - I hope it is as comforting to you as it is to me ❤️

My first job at 15 was working in a little pharmacy in my town, where we had a perfume counter! (as you can imagine this fuelled my already budding obsession with scent) I worked with a few older ladies in their late 60s, and one of them would drench herself in L'aimant :/ I do like it, it's very nostalgic but I can't help feeling slightly nauseous when I smell it!
lol I would feel sick if I sprayed too much on so I totally understand that! mind you this modern version is probably about the same strength as my old body spray lol. bet the old bottles were nuclear!

I finally found and ordered a bottle of Boum Green Tea Cherry Blossom 😄 I’m so excited to try it after your reviews on it. Went on a bit of a Jeanne Arthes spree, got 5 more from the Boum range & a couple of the Tea Time a Paris.

L'aimant was made by the company that Beaux left I think to be a cheaper competitor to Chanel no. 5.
yes indeed! I watched and read some stuff about it when I first started my channel - I don’t normally do that tbh but this is a more meaningful perfume to me than most and it’s so old that I thought it’s history might be interesting! My understanding is that it’s based on Beaux’s Rallet Nº1 for a company that Coty bought before no.5 came out and that’s the scent Beaux took away with him and developed for Chanel. I guess Coty and Roubert reworked the original formulation to create L’Aimant after no.5 became popular - I think Lanvin’s Arpege came out at around about the same time too! I’m not so keen on hardcore chypre’s so this is the perfect alternative to that scent profile for me ❤️ kind of makes me think about the BBC having the script for The Young Ones and not doing anything with it until The Comic Strip Presents came out on Channel 4!
When you mention eclat de arpege worn in decades past, do you mean Arpege? I was thinking eclat came in the early 2000s. 😀 I sure enjoy your channel. I adore 1881 Cerruti and Still by JLo. Love that your choices are so affordable.
You are correct! I totally meant Arpege! I’m just so used to saying Eclat de Arpege because I have the La Rive dupe of that lol!

outrageous! V is lovely but it’s MUSTY! sometimes a girl needs a basic bish violet and not a complex one! if they just made a daddy-o body spray I’d be happy tbh. wonder what the votes said for the next community perfume release?!

I just picked-up Ariana Grande’s GIAW in the body spray... I am getting a barn-yard/hay’ish smell to it! Any idea where that might be coming from? It’s giving me Pineward Perfume vibes!
oh that’s interesting! assuming that it hasn’t been stored badly and has gone off, I can only think it might be a synthetic sandalwood - I know that can smell odd to some people. it’s often pickles or sweat. I get burning rubber and wood from some synthetic woods so maybe you can’t get along with the wood not in it? ambrette is musk mallow so possibly could be that? modern perfumes are so full of aroma chemicals that it could actually be anything really, even the pear!
