Assembly and Product Review
We are using this product for knife making. Devil forges are available with a variety of options. Single, double or triple burners and with or without doors. This is one of the most affordable lightweight single burner units. Propane forges are great for heat treating or forging.
This forge is small enough to be portable and yet still powerful with wide forge openings front and back. Includes Choke - with a single thumb screw for quick choke position adjustments. The interior of the forge is fully lined with 1 inch of ceramic blanket. The floor of the forge is made of ceramic brick, providing superior strength and durability.

My wife bought me one as part of my 60th. The other part was a cruise going passed the Orkneys, hmm that won’t be happening. I have disabilities and only want to blade smith and I can’t even pick up large projects. I have mine mounted on one of those cheap metal router tables, lousy router table - great forge table. It’s the first forge I’ve ever used so I can’t compare it to anything else but it works for me.
Great video, thank you. Just ordered this burner for my homemade propane tank forge, can't wait now. Never expected to be able to forge weld with it, I would have been happy to just be able to work steel and iron but with the possibility of doing my own forge welds and sorry to mention, demascus steel I am buzzing over this haha. Thanks again, without this video I would probably be umming and aahing over buying it for another year!
Glad I could help
Nice! And for the price there's just nothing to say against it besides the fact that my wife is going nuts when she saw the flames coming out :) she hates my hobbies :)
Put a fire break behind it to hold in heat and keep flame out the back, works better for me.
I have a 2 burner oval forge should I put a brick behind it on that
I have the twin burner cersion with back door, Fantastic bit of kit
Love it, got one, amazing,
Thanks,
Glad you like it!
Thanks
I bought this forge. Came with no setup instructions. Great walkthrough. Thanks!
Randall Martin if you want to be a blacksmith you should know how to set up a forge
Fabian Skóra stfu bro everybody starts somewhere
I was specifically wanting to know about forge welding, knowing that it is able to reach a welding heat tells me that it is plenty good enough for my uses
Nice video , I'm looking to buy a small forge like that one for knife making, thank you
what pressure do you use and how long does it take to bring it up to forgewelding temperature?
How many PSI are you running the burner at?
Thanks for the review. I just got this for my birthday but have not had a chance to fire it up yet.
Best of luck with it.
how can i buy in Cambodia
Thanks
you can buy it at e bay or ask them in their web devil-forge.com/
can you give an indication of fuel consumption?
If you have a full 20LB tank and use a 1 burner forge, it will take about 6 hours to run out of fuel, but I am not sure as to how to tell how much you have left.
thanks for the review, going to purchase one.would blanking off the back with insulation make any difference to temp increase, regards from the u.k.
I was just going to block back opening with a firebrick but it worked really well without having to.
@Abdul Rahman Why? As long as you're not running your propane line near either end it will be fine.
I was considering buying one, and the larger ones are a bit out of my price range. Is it feasible to weld two smaller ones together to use as one? Or maybe insulate the connection with heat brick? Also thanks for the video. Best regards.
We actually used two back to back to heat treat a sword
Hi guys, thank you for the video, question, how long is the shell , I need to heat a 9 inch blade knife
Is it safe to Stack refractory brick on the other side of the forge so its not open like that? and maybe a brick door?
Yes absolutely I do it all the time
Hmmmm Damascus coming soon?
Thanks. I bought a simond store version. Had my burner too high.
Glad I could help
Cld u take burner out for more mobile heating tasks
I thought to weld you shouldn't smash it too hard. Shows what I know
i have hells forge, it is the same model
thanks i was wandering if it where, hey are they open on both ends and would one be able to make longer things like swords using one of these forges or should i save for one of their multiburner forges?
What is the wall thickness on the body?
Did you say it comes with rigidizer now? If so.....awesome!!!!
Yes every forge comes with rigidizer now.
Good display on how to properly connect the forge but after 3:39 u jumped passed abit but thanks for the video.
Can u metal metal in this one? I plan to start forging knives and was wondering as I'd like to use old second hand or scrap metal n metal it down and use it to make knives .
No you need to make a crucible. Look up on youtube how to make one, that should show you what you need.
@@blitzbc5689 yea I know u need a crucial I was wondering using one that fits in the forge if the forge would be good to melt metal in use a crucial .
Do you think it is worth paying more to get the double burner if the single burner works well?
Double burner works better for longer blades. Really only depends on what size knives you are going to make
DIYeasycrafts I’m a total beginner and will probably start with pocket knives and a single burner would do but if I ever stick with the hobby and want to go further with something like machete or swords then I guess it’s better if I get a double burner from the start. The three burner models are out of budget for now
Yo ando buscando Cobre en Objetos Obsidados me podrían decir adonde hay Objetos así
Where is the rigidizer video?
What pressure are you running it on?
around 1 1/2. More important is to set the choke so that you have a nice light blue flame.
@@DIYeasycrafts on the guage, it's in decimals, so saying 1 1/2 kind of throws me a bit
Half way between 1 and 2
The frame rate make the video kinda look like slowmotion
