    The men on the badger drive worked insanely hard to provide for their families so nothing but respect for them. Their lives were hard. Respect

    The man who wrote this song used it to win his job back after being fired as a scaler. I find that beautiful

    I remember the log jams on the Blanche River, at the foot of our homestead in Northern Ontario,and the anxious looks on my parents faces of "Oh no. Don't tell me we're going to lose the bridge again"and the occasional bit of blasting that had to be done in order to get things moving. I think that my parents generation was the last one up there to be working on the drives for a living.

    My Grandfather drove logs on the Badger Drive.

    the badger drive killed all the inland fishing..i still see the old dams all over the country..an the mill the logs were flushed too gave death to my father and towns people and now the mill is gonna be demolished.
