    Still on my bucket list! Loved the playground, shows how much kids are babied today, every adult my age looked at that and had awesome childhood memories Im sure lol! Mind you those slides got darn hot in summer! No soft landings either just hot, hard dirt and swings had thick wooden seats 🤣🤣🤣

    Loving your take on the Nullabor, and yeah those time changes are crazy. I did the trip in 2000 (and other years) and was at "U-cla" when the Olympics opening ceremony was happening.
    My 2005 Roadstar van has a swing away table standard with a (very heavy) all steel arm.

    Enjoyed your video guys, and it was interesting to see your take on our favourite drive. We just crossed it for the 22nd time (cycled it twice in that 22). Next time you go across take the old Eyre Highway from Nullarbor Roadhouse to Border Village (or vici verca) and stop for a look or camp at Koonalda Station. There is a cool car graveyard, homestead built out of railway sleepers, shearers quarters, shearing shed and just for Liz, a cave up the track a bit further. All part of Australia's history, and one of the few adventurous parts of the Nullarbor that are left.

    Hey Simon, to fix the table maybe try a nylon type shock absorber bush to sort the problem 🍻🍻

    The WA/SA border sign is to the left of the Quarantine Station (for fellow travellers)
    We’ve crossed the Nullarbor 12 times and it still amazes us every time! We’ve explored the caves, checked out the old Eyre highway and the car grave yards and homesteads and snuck up to Cook, it’s just amazing what’s out there if you have the time to explore it 😊

    Gotta love the digital clock hey.
    I want to drive the Nullarbor now too… Great episode 👌🏼

    If I was designing the table system I would start with stainless steel posts and real bearings.( like wheel bearings) . Regarding solar input, it's all relative to your bank account level. Anyone can have a high input level of amps into their battery system if they have a high bank account level.ha! Good fun with the time zones.maybe Liz could re design the table system now that she has finished her degree? Classic old play ground. Love it. Reminds me of my childhood! Those caves are a bit creepy I reckon. Dingoes killing Roos for sure.can't believe how freaked out you are about exploring caves and the lack of good torches in your mega buck setup?? I agree that the Nullarbor has so much to offer than most people realise. Happy travels to all of you! Loved this episode and looking forward to the next one ✅

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks, Jason. That table design would be sturdier, but much heavier I'd imagine. Like everything, a trade-off.

    Hey Simon & Liz,
    Thanks for all your Nullabour tips as we are planning for our crossing in May… so far the plan is to have no plan so we’ll see how that goes.
    There are companies that supply “sintered bronze” bushes in a range of sizes and you may be lucky to jag the right inner & outer diameter.
    Good luck.

  • @craig3113
    @craig3113 Před 5 měsíci

    Another great video, Simon a fix for the table is you cold look into a nylon sleeves like the a set of bushes. You need to get stedi to sponsor you for some torches yo carry in the car and van.
    Can't wait for the next episode

    That was another great post. Thanks team. There's always something to see, or do, if you just look for the opportunities. When I lived in Australia, I never found any drive boring. I got annoyed with people who'd say " dont go there, there's nothing to see. It's boring ".
    Love following you guys. Cheers. 😊

    The table - weld in a vehicle stub axle and fit 2 bearings. Just like a kmar rear wheel carrier design. Would need to replace the rhs frame as well. Cheers

  • @DeneOLoughlin-ek9ee

    Nice videos. We had that table which is known as a Lagun table in New Zealand for 9 years in our last van. The leverage was always a problem and they get worse unless you keep replacing parts. Will never get another one so I wondered how you would find it. Good luck with a redesign. All I can say is that if you don't try and redesign parts, it will never be a great stable table.

      It's the old homestead on the original Eyre HWY between Boarder Village & Nullarbor road house. About 16k's north of the Eyre HWY. The homestead, fuel bowser for the Eyre HWY, old cars, blow hole and a large cave are there. Worth a visit and you can camp there. @@TheLifestylePioneers
