      They are allowed 5 subs in regulation now. Back in the day it was 3. Go rewatch those old matches, tell us how the game was then.
      Had they played extra-time, they would have had a 6th. Fatigue cannot be the excuse. They also were allowed 26 players!!!! Being tired is BS

    Bielsa has a great point. Just look at the amount of penalty kicks at elimination games. The leagues have way too many games and developing nations can't keep their young talent for more than 4 years. It is sad and it is showing at this international tournaments.

    Correct me if I’m wrong, but hasn’t URUGUAY been one of the most penalized teams in the Copa? Tons of hacking doesn’t help the with the flow…

    • @nikolaivista920
      @nikolaivista920 Před 12 dny +1

      The problem is that the refs are not giving enough yellow and red cards in order to stop the hacking. Uruguay should have gotten about 6 yellow cards in the match vs Brazil. And it was a match in which Uruguay did not need to hack or play physical since Brazil are not even a shadow of their former selves. Pitiful!!!

      @nikolaivista920 Před 12 dny

      @@KC_50 It doesn't matter how a team plays. If a team plays dirty and does a lot a fouling; then the ref needs to step in and start handing out yellow and red cards. Here is a fact for you: once a team gets 2-3 red cards, that team stops playing dirty! Weird how that works right!

    Cant get behind this take at all with the Euros. Ive watched 90% of the games and they have been fantastic. Yes we would probably see much better football if the players werent so overused. But it has been good. The Spain v Germany game was one for the ages. Turkiye had a great run. It was good. Copa America has had more duds, but some great games feom Venezuela, Colombia, Canada. Not as good as the euros but not terrible.

Too many domestic cups n league games and champions league, europa, conference. Now u have expanded champions league. Expanded world cup. U got expandes club world cup in summer.

    Best teams also have the best defenders. And stop pretending Messi is STILL one of the best players in the world. He wouldn't be in MLS if that was the case. Not to mention, they're playing on tight/smaller fields in Copa America. Can someone tell me why we're hosting this again? I mean, we can't even provide regulation pitches.

    • @nikolaivista920
      @nikolaivista920 Před 12 dny +2

      The USA is hosting Copa America for a few reasons: 1. Money, as always. The FIFA execs want their millions. 2. Dress rehearsal for World Cup 2026 (which in all fairness should have only taken place in Canada with 32 nations, but once again FIFA execs want their millions). FIFA is trying to drum up interest and examining which are the best venues for stadium filling/ticket sales, lodging accommodations, logistics, transportations, and more money-making schemes (food sales, jersey sales, etc.). And 3. FIFA want/need CONMEBOL to not just approve the 2026 World Cup but promote the daylights out of it! But it has backfired a bit and something tells me 2026 World Cup will not workout if they don't fix the stadium pitches and alter the offsides rule. But then again, and one last time, FIFA execs just want their millions!
