    Not often one gets to see a Balzar grain cart. They do have a plant 15 miles from me. Although they weren't featured in this video, Demo has 2 plants 70 miles from me. And to round it off, Challenger is built 25 miles away. My wife used to work there as a welder. Didn't seem like a 25 minute video...good stuff!

    We’re a couple of hours apart. The custom farming thing intrigues me. I never meant for it to happen, but I start a lot later being organic, and I built two custom hot rod DB90’s Exact Emerge planters on 20”.
    On that flat tilled conventional
    seed bed, we can burn it up. I can get all the average guys beans planted in less than 2 days. If it was a perfect world and nothing ever broke and we weren’t doing so much road time, you’d be able to plant 1000 acres in a day.
    John Deere definitely has legitimate reasons for not offering such a monster on it’s regular menu. It takes every bit of what a 15 liter Cummings tuned to run at around 675 horsepower can give. Anything heavier, the footprint of the tractor just couldn’t deliver the traction.
    Back to the point, how far out do you go for your custom work? I hope to keep getting those calls. I really believe that the same pop planted on 20” instead of 30” will produce 2-5 bushel more.
    Come to think of it, the old 1790 will do 15’s if someone wanted that, I just can’t cover much ground with a slow 40’ rig.

    • @LtColDaddy71
      @LtColDaddy71 Před 3 lety

      I just have to add this with a laugh. In 15 years of doing custom work, the planters will pay for themselves! 😂. I’m sure you see the humor in that. On a serious note, on the organic side, tolerances are really really tight. You’ve got essentially 3 crops going in every year. The main crop, double crop, and covers. Their are two roads to take. Be a little guy with no bills, or invest heavily in capacity. I respect both.
