@@terrenceharris-hughes4436 Probably low ratings and low interest. This aired on Nick at Nite, outside of typical primetime hours. Best guess is that they wanted the block to have an original animated series and Bill Cosby was either the first to offer or still under contract with Nickelodeon after Little Bill concluded.
The show, while humorous, is kinda bland on its own. It's an adult cartoon in a conservative sense, and thus it has little staying power, hence its gradual focus on more comedy by the second season. It seems this was never a priority to the network and thus they would fulfill orders and be done with it.
(also this was years before the Cosby allegations really began to take off)
