I remember seeing this episode at Spike & Mike's Sick & Twisted Festival of Animation at the Huntridge Theatre in Las Vegas in 1992. They showed 'Dogpile', 'No-Neck Joe', and other weird independent films but Beavis and Butthead was the only film that actually took off and ended up on MTV. Crazy to think it was over 30 years ago already. The new episodes in 2024 are just as awesome fortunately, and don't suck like other stuff that is re-released/re-created . . .

Those eyes of Beavis and those of Inbred Jed at the beginning harkened back to the movie Deliverance. If you remember that scene with the boy picking his Banjo, you'll understand the image Mike Judge was trying to convey for these two geniuses.
