Ol martins always helping some one he is a good man this ol world needs more people like y'all
For sure I would imagine Martin is working for beer or chrome for fancy. 😂
Indeed
Martin just needs to open a truck repair shop.
Martin using his knowledge to help someone out. Have a good day.
Seems like it didn't take long for Martin to become the go to guy for truck repairs in your neck of the Wisconsin woods...anyway, it sure is good to have you two back shootin videos again!
A lot of folks don't realize that when the glider thing really kicked off, Detroit sent out a bunch of blocks that should have never been put back into a truck. like people bought new Freightliner Classic XLs an then have a catastrophic failure during the warranty period. Then Detroit decided to put a crate motor in and then the motors they take out got pumped out to all these glider manufacturers, a lot of owner operators ended up with bulshit blocks. It wasn't just Fitzgerald's that got a bunch of those screwed up blocks. all the glider manufacturers ended up with a bunch of messed up blocks .it sux for those that ended up with blocks that wasn't as sturdy as what they was when they was first built
Good friends always have good helping hands.
Whoever was building Detroits for Fitzgerald has literally throwing them together. This one was not the only one with major problems. Not to mention the mass production of gliders killed the glider.
Enjoyed your joint livestream with Alice & Martin!
(I am one of the moderators that they mentioned, and happy how you handled that troll that we had here too)
@@JohnHallgren all good. Yes, I'm very plain spoken...
@@fsctrucking for livestream especially, having a separate moderator(s) who can constantly view chat is definitely a good idea since you’re busy talking and might not see things. Hopefully you now have someone?
Correct. The in house rebuilds were horrible. Seen more bad ones than good. The Detroit OEM crate was the way to go. Good luck to you guys.
Get-r-Done Y'all so yuns can say Got-r-Did. Totally Awesome helpin out.
What a Standup Guy Martin is to be off the road and to give up his free time help a buddy out! 👍👋👍
It's great to see the Nomadic Brit again. I miss his channel and also the Rich Rat down in Dallas. A couple of high class dudes and of course our favorite blonde gear jammer who knows every driver in the Northern Hemisphere behind the camera.
Good times 🇺🇸✌️🇬🇧

Good to see nomadic Britt it’s been a minute
Good morning y'all dang lol ran through Arkansas yesterday and baseball sized hail was coming down what a nite
We all need friends like Martin and Alice willing to give a hand and help out. We all need to be that friend to lend a hand when its needed or asked for. Glad you guys are doing well.
Martin is the man. Love how you guys help others. I bet he’s happy to be taking out that motor indoors as opposed to his last motor removal outside lol Love the new content
shop was definitely nice to work in
@@TruckingTogetherespecially with a forklift, nice concrete floor and being inside with some of the temperatures you apparently had..
The cost of the repair hurts.... the lost revenue kills ya!! Hang in there Ya'll
Always happy to see a new Trucking Together video up. Thanks!
I do believe that this is the only way O/O will survive in the trucking industry today. You have to be willing to help one another because there’s just no way that you could afford to pay a shop to continually do maintenance and major repairs like this. Great job Martin and Alice for helping this man out. That’s a really nice looking truck.
Love your music selections Alice!
Please keep the new music 🎶 at the end ... awesome 👌 an keep on trucking together 😎
Hi ! Cascadia mid-roof, i don t recall seeing many of those ! I guess it s cool looking with a tanker ! That wheater sure is crazy out there ! it s about the same here most of the winter we had was just up n down with a bit of rain or snow, no snow here now and the Canadian geese arrived here from the south 3 weeks ago that too was very rare ! I just hope we won t get a hot hot summer cuz here it s always humid and i can t stand humidity ! guess you re having a great time there ! I m so happy for you leaving CA. ! well have a safe one ! see ya later guys ! 🤠
Loved the time lapse at the end. You have snow. It was up to 80* where i am yesterday. Just about perfect. Today is 58* and raining. At one point it sounded like I had a team of carpenters pounding on the roof.
Stay safe and come to MATS.
Getting the background for the #447 that was premature!
Addendum - No, your commentary is not dumb at 13:08! It’s entertaining!
Looks like you caught it in time before potentially having catastrophic failure, good catch
Your commentary is not dunb,it's honest.
Martin looks happier working on trucks rather that OTR.
What a great video as usual loved it go ahead Martin you the man
Nice to see Nomadic Brit Mark in the vlog. Glad to see he's doing OK. Keep up the great work guys !
Gees you guys I love it how you just jump in there to help good friends you are just such beautiful caring people as I am to my good friends. I just love Martens knowledge. Love you guys. 👍🚛👍
is that your garage at new home pretty nice fitzgerald says it all
That be Greg’s shop
I think the best thing a 0/0 can have is one or two mechanics that have been there when you needed them and have earned your trust… I bet they will be hard to find nowadays. I luckily have one and don’t hesitate to give him a bonus when I write him a check , i trust him completely
Welcome to the midwest
Thats my favorite thing about you and martin, always willing to help anybody. Live that 👍💋
Nice. to have you back.
You are good people 👍👍👍👍🇺🇸
Boy oh boy, Martin is one hell of a guy. Martin ya know you probably could open a shop and get paid to keep other truckers trucks going. Home every night, cuddled up next to Alice. Something to think about out. I guess it’s probably good you guys are taking a break from running up and down the boulevard. Man I wished I knew what Martin’s knows about what ya got to do to keep the wheels turning, cause if they are not turning the bank account is thinning out. Lots of times the bank account is thinning out even when the wheels are turning. Loved the video guys. Have a happy and a great day, happy trails to you, D..
everybody helps everybody. That's great. Greetings from Germany
Check the ecm on left fire wall if there's alot or even minor corrosion on or in the connectors it causes a ton of problem one can be a tail light on with no light on and truck is shut off. For the guy with the electrical problem.
Welp, it’s official. Martin is now a full time mechanic.
HI Alice And mart9s😊😊
And I think there’s probably nothing wrong with that turbo, as I said, I put one on my truck this week brand spanking new, and it would do the same thing a little bit more side to side play than I would’ve expected, and if you loaded it by hand, it would bind, but it works fine under normal operation.
Welcome to the frozen tundra of Green Bay. 🤣
Good video y'all take care be safe
that 17702 turbo will last if you put a 360 bearing in it. i think borg warner is now starting to use the 360 bearing. i went threw 2 turbos under warranty that they would not honor .the turbos both scored the thrust bearing. i took the 2nd one back from them in pieces and rebuilt it myself with a 50 dollar rebuild kit, with a 360 bearing in it and never had another problem,im pushing 40 lbs of boost on a detroit series 60 12.7 .
Marks truck has many sources of power that need to be drained off
South Main Auto channel shows how you use a test light across the positive and negative cables (cables) to draw down all current.
Then start over.
This is my guess.
Good luck.
Martin you be interested in doing In frame on my Cummins. It been a rough 18 months with lots time off for wife 3 surgeries and I’m only one that takes care of her then my total him replacement done
Sucks to hear what you said about that turbo, I just put the exact one on my 60 series this week.
So is the truck a glider? The engine you are taking out is? I didn't hear Detroit Cummins or Caterpillar? Taking one of the engines out is definitely an ambitious problem. I watched you guys video where you took the engine out of the peterbilt that you guys bought at the peterbilt dealership in Western Arkansas. That was definitely a huge project. I do a lot of work on my truck but nothing that ambitious.
it’s a Fitzgerald built glider detroit series 60 engine
and also, the truck that had the engine replaced was not our truck from Arkansas. We have 2 579’s
Brand new off the lot is $170 to $180 so at $112 that's pretty good! Sad the parts didn't hold up. They must be using a lot of rebuilt parts on their trucks instead of brand new.
Hi Alice , is Martin going to open up a repair shop up there ? Looks like he is getting pretty busy quickly.
it’s been talked about but no plans right now to do so
Cat all day
Couldn’t agree more. All equipment will go down eventually tho
I call that weather control
Alot of money and fuel but man do we look good rolling down the road lol love it
Hi Martin. Have you or anyone had any experience with Hart turbos?
Welcome to wisconsin
You guys doing ok with all the severe weather this week?
We haven’t had anything here.
All turbos will move sideways even new. They run on an oil film in the bearings. If there is signs of contact then it is time for replacement.
Yes but not 1/8” inch of play and hit the housing. This had oil just run through it as well. It was junk
Tornaders up here in Ohio.... ACDC played all night long!!
Lol. I had N14 blow a turbo and run away. Took a minute to get it shut down. 😮
yikes
are you just getting settled in or are you looking for a company to sign on with
Buying a used truck always has its risk. Who knows how the previous owner took care of it.
He's not the only one with build problems from the " Builder" they sure aren't making a good name for their selves.
He putting back a DD or a red one ( X-15)?
A trucking company in my hometown had some Fitzgerald gliders and had to have the engines rebuilt (60 series Detroit) when they tore it down they found the rod and main bearings had Chinese writing on them. The Fitzgerald Detroit's are junk!
They weren’t know for reliability that’s for sure.
Have heard a lot of bad things about the Fitzgerald rebuilt motors
When are you going do drive again?
I'd be pissed as well putting that much money into a truck ya paid almost 120thousand for and it's a Fitzgerald lemon. Y'all know it'll be right when Martin gets done already pointed out a bad turbo that was recently replaced can't wait to see this one done and he can make money without any breakdowns. 👍🇺🇸
please make the vids longer
Best way to become a millionaire in trucking??? Start with 2 million....
honest injun keemosabe!(-;
Glad to see Martins lesbian jacket made it to Wisconsin
Are we going to get trucking videos someday?
eventually
I’ve never heard anything good about Fitzgerald. I feel so bad for this guy. That is a lot of money out the window. 😢
Should've bought a freightliner wouldn't have that trouble
🙌🙌🙌
Was that a Fitzgerald rebuilt engine, or did he buy a used truck from Fitz with that engine in it?
they built it
@@TruckingTogether Every company has a crappy employee they have to weed out. You experienced that with the rebuilt motor you had to rebuild. It`s not just a Fitzgerald problem.
When are y'all going back to trucking
🤷🏼♀️
wah-hoo! pull that o'le relic beast out of there! gosh! 3yrs.frankinsteine is right! it's got a brass bearing...power washer time! send it back where it belongs!
Why are you blaming Fritzjerld for a Detroit diesel problem Cummins did the same thing to Martin . that goes along with o/o
we didn’t blame anyone the owner of the truck is, it’s his right to blame the place that built the engine and Detroit wasn’t it.
Just out of curiosity what was wrong with the nomadic brits truck you didnt follow up on this lol .
oh IDK, he just needed help to reset the system
@@TruckingTogether ok . nice to see videos back glad you and the family all better . . Thanks for the quick reply thats awesome . Dont think i have ever had a response so quickly from other channels i subscribe to . Some dont even reply lol . Until the next video peaceout. 😉
@@archangel729Sir it needed a hard reset ✌️
@@nomadic-brit thanks
@@archangel729 No problem 👍
Fitzgerald put cheap Chinese parts in the engine like pai
we’ve heard that
Was that Fitz engine built with genuine Gm Parts? Why not put a govt surplus in a crate reman 8v92 that you can buy for 6500 dollars?
Because a 2 stroker gets about 4 MPG
@@toddnilsson5664 And the driver will need hearing aids after the first trip
but a third of the cost and the cool sound, and nooobull gear grenading.@@toddnilsson5664
Chuck your granny pants in turbo IT WILL CHOKE😂😂😂😂😂
what are granny pants?@@austinlloyd9757
Put a cat in it
Why are you not driving
Because we don’t have to. We just moved across country and want to spend time as a family in our new home. We will go back to work when we are ready to and find the right thing to go do. We can afford to be home, not everyone is poor in trucking.
@@TruckingTogether families/ friends first is what makes life better
Yall quit trucking😂😂😂😂😂
no. this may blow your mind but not everyone in trucking is poor where they have to run 24/7
@@TruckingTogether never said you where calm down I know some people take care of there money 💰
It's NOT Fitgerald's engine. It is a DETROIT DIESEL REMAN BY DETROIT. Please stop blaming Fitgerald! All they did was to install it. If it had warranty, DD would ultimately take care of it.
You’re wrong. There’s a sticker on the side of the engine clearly says call Fitzgerald that means that is a Fitzgerald reman engine. Fitzgerald remained engines for their gliders a person had the option to go with one of theirs or get a genuine Detroit rebuild for substantially more money. The ones Fitzgerald rebuilt weren’t known for reliability. Fitzgerald also said they had warranty all over the country but that wasn’t true either.
Fritz was buying any cores possible for these gliders they could get and rebuilding them there selves, and there all kinds of problems with there engines lots of people had to rebuild the engines a 2nd time with not many hrs on them put of it might be turning them up for more power never lasts long
@@heaveymelt Did not know this, thanks.
Those trucks aren’t making any money just setting in the driveway
what does it matter to you? we are financially able to take time off right now and then some
@@TruckingTogether and there’s that saying: nobody on their deathbed ever said - I wish I would’ve worked more and spent less time with my family!
Back in 1993, I chose to not relocate to NC when my department was being consolidated there. After 12 years there, I took severance and had a number of months off because I could afford to. Really needed that break!
10-4 … I lost my contract February 10. Haven’t turned a wheel since, I didn’t even know how much I needed some downtime…I landed a new gig for my truck starting April 1st , have every little thing fixed on the truck and I am kind of excited about hitting the road again 💪🏼
@@karlsborgwi.jewell9919 hopefully it’ll work out great for you! Even with a more typical desk job like I did, after 2 1/4 years at my first job after college, when I was let go for, as the boss who said it: “You did your job too well”, and had a three month gap before next job, I certainly loved that break and was more motivated to work again.
@@karlsborgwi.jewell9919 so sorry to hear about the contract loss, we like to believe things happen for a reason so hopefully it was for you to get that needed break and get into something better!
No one put a gun to ur head to buy from fritzgerald if u been trucking u new there reputation sorry for all the. bad luck but not all on them all that stuff wasn't fritz fault
theres not a lot of love for Fitzgerald 60 series do they not know how to rebuild them most look like they half ass build them
Fitzgerald makes them pretty trucks not reliable trucks
it definitely is a pretty one!
