Too bad they didn’t have Caterpillar yellow that would have really caused confusion. I thought when we got a closer view I saw the Detroit logo on that cover. Sounds like they know their business where they put it together. Hope it’s got some warranty on it. Martin you da man pitching in and helping out like that. Fitzgerald is notorious for using aftermarket parts and their engines fail way before they should
I have a brand new glider, first oil change there was metal in the oil. larger than a ballpoint pen. The next day lost 30 psi oil pressure!!
@michaelsorrentino9279 that's a damn shame that they would do that owner operators knowing they were relying on this equipment to feed their family and pushing their garbage out there.
@@truckingwithcliff For real, I believe there were laws suits filed against them.
@@michaelsorrentino9279 yea I believe so, if buying a glider from them getting a truck that had a OEM rebuild vs their rebuild was the better option even though the OEM rebuilt was more expensive we see why their rebuilt motors was cheaper they were boat anchors.

My Cleveland Bros cat 2ws reman has 764k on it with just oil changes.
My Cummins built DOHC ISX has 1,246,960 on it with just oil changes. But that’s when they were good.

Well you are making progress. Does he keep his engine he removed or is it exchanged at the time of the purchase the engine that is now in the green truck?

Martin can you tell us the difference in the 60 series dedec 1-5
Mainly electronics, I think DDEC 1 was just a test because even the 2 strokes of the late 80s were DDEC 2. 3 and 4 are similar, with the 4 having piston coolers, the 5s were the egr and 6 was egr and dpf till replaced by dd15. Mostly electronics and some changes. 12.7 and 14L. The 5-6 had the best gear train.
