  • Hello CZcamsrs .
Let`s talk a little bit about the new FujiFilm GFX 50R range finder medium format beast. I was actually positively surprised by the performance of that camera . The starting price will be 4500 USD and in my opinion this is a great price for a medium format camera. If we think a little bit and compare with the Nikon D850 or the Sony a7R iii they both are about 3500 USD so in my opinion this camera worths another 1000 $ . Obviously if you need it . For some photographers this will not be the right camera but for portraiture and landscape or studio photography , it will be a great alternative . FujiFilm is really cleaver by attacking the camera market on the medium format .
    Let`s see some brief specs.
    Rangefinder style
    Compact and lightweight body
    Weather resistant structure
43.8x32.9mm 51.4MP CMOS medium format sensor
    X-Processor Pro
    2.36M-dot touchscreen LCD back panel
    FUJINON GF Lens
Just like medium format film cameras in the past, the FUJIFILM GFX 50R has been developed in pursuit of a compact and lightweight system while delivering the ultimate picture quality for everyday snapshots and street photography. This new model expands the potential for the GFX system and makes medium format output even more accessible.
The FUJIFILM GFX 50R features a 43.8x32.9mm CMOS medium format sensor: a product of Fujifilm's rich history, cutting-edge digital technology and extensive knowledge of medium format film cameras. Boasting an effective resolution of 51.4 million pixels and paired with high-performance GF lenses, the sensor delivers superior tones and sharpness that will impress professional photographers shooting in the world of commercial, fashion or landscapes.

@@BlueSkyPhotography Looking forward for more of your video in 2019, they are always so practical. (So genuine - , No BS , No click bait or trying to sell products). Some of the best video you shared is the Movavi and the DXO Photolab app. (easy to use yet good enough for majority of people). I also from your advise be happy with shooting APSC camera than the need to buy full frame. Which is very true.
Some of my previously favorite channel on YT that teaches photography now turned into just gear review channel which is sad :(
If you don't mind me requesting, can you look into making a video about on (speedlight) and off camera (strobes) flash photography? As a beginner photographer who is looking into the option to add light, it would be extremely useful.
Again, wish you and everyone a wonderful year here.

Great video as usual Attila. I think they have already changed the market. They have made APSC camera so good that they are forcing the camera manufacturers to add features etc on all of their cameras. These new medium format Fuji cameras are superb. If I had to make my living from portrait or landscape photography I would buy one right now. For a relatively reasonable amount extra you can have the best image quality in your images. Also great for architectural work. Well, anything that is not too far away and doesn't move to quickly :)

If I am ever fortunate enough to be able to add medium format digital to my system then without a doubt Fujifilm would be the way I'd go. Sadly it's still out of my price range ☹️

In my opinion Fuji brings now Medium Format into the "Mainstream" wheare today lots of people have Full Frame stuff when few years ago was hard to get it cuz FF was so expensive do you remember D700 premiere? it was superior camera and Medium Format was total out of budget for most people , now lots of people dont like old FF cameras , and Fuji tempt new customers ;) GFX is great system i hope will get someday 50s :) best regards

There is a big discount when buying GFX R with 45 or 63mm lenses.Looking to the lens prices in MF land ,Fujifilm lenses are not expensive.Nice video content, since you are not comparing MF with FF and making peolle confused with there choice.

Canon and Nikon, like two bald men fighting over a comb! Medium format remains unaffordable for me, but I am excited by the full-frame Panasonics which look like offering everything Sony does except with better ergonomics, weather-sealing and colour science.... but I won't be able to afford those either :D Thanks Atilla.

Thank's for sharing. 2 points for me : 1- The first 2.30' are useless.
2- The GFX50R was made to be as portable as a DSLR ans to be used outside, not in studio like the other big MF cameras. However, I must admit that it's less pleasant to handle than the GFX50S with big lenses on.
Lastly, could you please make an effort to look at the camera and not everywhere but in front of you ?
