Discovery is in the business of advertising. They push and shove the cast to get footage that’s methodically compiled into an advertisement trap. An appeal to gain the attention of a target demographic just long enough to set the hook and, well be back right after these messages.....
Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the supplemental income helped expedite perpetual progress, so a bit of credit is due. I’m glad to see this in its own light now, though. 👍

Yo can we take a second to point out the how good the cinematography is getting?! That depth of field though -- good work y'all. Leaving Discovery was the best thing that ever happened to Gas Monkey.
WTF? Cinematography? This is a car show son, not an art class. Besides, a monkey could do that job. Grab a camera, follow Richard around, Make sure Richard always has a ICE cold one in hand at all times.

Good job showing us how to work together. Can't learn from each other without tolerance and acceptance. If the old school car guys and Millenials can work together there is hope.

That corvette came from my friend.. It was his grandfather's.. His grandfather restored a ton of car's.. When he passed away he gave all the grandkids the car's.. Most of them sold them..

If you want this show to succeed on CZcams, you have to get some organization. That's part of why the show was successful on Discovery. I'm watching what feels like a madhouse, that needs to be on Ritalin.

You need to make your way up to grand junction Colorado for a vacation. Get you some palisade peaches, microbrews, do some motor rock climbing, swing by the smoke shop, and find these gems lost to the desert by these super old timey folks. I'm always amazed by not just the selection of cars by how many old trucks and muscle cars are pulling up in parking lots every week for get togethers.
Big fan of Richard and his show, He has a good attitude to life, even when it goes wrong. Also he has a great team around him, so its a massive Team effort to make a great show. Keep it up .
Hey Richard what are you asking for that K-5 blazer?? I’ve been looking for a square body one or a 1969-1972 K-5 blazer!!!!! I actually love those wheels on that K-5 also!! I have two sets of them that are 8 bolt by 16x10 for my 1969 Chevy 1Ton 4x4 that I have been working on for a while now & im looking for a blazer to go along with my truck!!! Let me no please!!

I'm in the UK and the only GMG I can get to watch is on Discovery.
I'm not sure how far behind Discovery is but this format is much more interesting and kinda gives a "real life prospective" on Richard and the crew at the Gas Monkey shop.

After 20 years as an automotive technician I opened my own shop in 2019, I’ve also had a small used car lot for 6 years. When I watch gas monkey it makes me think about how much fun I use to have building cars and how much easier these older cars are to work on compared to the new stuff I work on every day. After opening up the repair shop I haven’t had the time to buy an sell cars and it makes me remember how much fun I had selling cars and how much more money there is in selling cars compared to fixing your normal everyday cars. Many times I have sold one car and made more money than I’ve ever made in a month and before I opened my own shop I was making 100k per year as a automotive technician so it’s not like I was making peanuts. Gas monkey really inspires me when I watch it. I really think I am going to change up my business plan. It’s not that there is no money in owning a auto repair shop it just takes years to build up a repair shop from scratch and it’s a lot more work and costs a lot more money in overhead every month compared to just selling cars. Obviously gas monkey has massive overhead because they restore cars in just comparing a repair shop to a used car dealer and also I know what it takes to get to the point gas monkey is at I know it took many years and lots of hard work! Ok I’ll stop rambling but thanks for the inspiration Richard and I’m very proud of you for sticking to it and making your dreams come true, wish me luck sir!

There is a guy here in Jackson NC that has so many okd cars that you would just love i have seen you buy some of the same cars on ur show and he dont do anything with them they just sit around collecting dust would love to see someone like you come but Em all from him and then flip Em like how you do has a c10 few Hudson hornets few old Chevy trucks even old dodge trucks has well over 100 cars and trucks at this garage and his house has even more then that

5 years ago my husband owned a 1978 chevy 5k blazer and name was Cheyenne the floor broads were rusted out on it but the seats were in really good condition I miss that old girl but at the time he sold it we didn't have the money to fix it

One of the guys at school in early 1970s had one of the early Hondas with the motorcycle engines...a group of four guys moved out of lot and put a block away...still laugh about it today...
That thing needs a set of steamroller meats in each corner , big box flares and wings and an ex nascar cup driveline and go and take down track records at a circuit near you lol
