Author Nora Roberts is a best-selling author of more than 200 romance novels. She, it turns out, is as interesting and strong as her heroines. Rita Braver reports.
I love her books as well as her Eve Dallas series. It’s inspiring that she got turned down dozens of times. But kept at it. I also love how she used her money to restore some of the town’s old buildings. The Inn is beautiful! It’s also sweet that her husband owns a bookstore and has an area dedicated to his wife.
She is an amazing writer. I can't believe how quickly she can put out a book. And they are all fantastic!! I wish they would put her In Death Series into a TV series. A high quality TV series! Love them!
Totally agree, would LOVE an high-budget In Death tv series! They'd have to find the perfect Eve and Roarke but it would be so satisfying seeing it on screen!
It is encouraging to know that such a prolific author struggles with a craft she has mastered. I struggle with my writing but now I know it is not because I'm not good at it. I love her books and she is an inspiration of where talent and hard work can get you.
The inn she rebuilt is the Boonsboro series that I absolutely love! I go back to it from time to time. I’ve restarted the In Death series and i go through 3 books a week now. I can’t put it down! Absolutely love her books regardless if she writes as JD Robb or herself!
I can say, I love how she writes women, as people, not just "the girl." And they are always really interesting and strong people, with a strong sense of purpose and a competence in some field, always having a calling, or a vocation that they follow through on with dedication, practicing until they're great at what they do. I always find that inspiring.
I'm back to reading some of her books (not the JD Robb ones, though. I don't like that genre), after not reading any since the late 1990s, early 2000s. And I've gotten back into writing after nearly 18 years of a hiatus with marriage and children (delved back into writing in September 2014, and it felt good). I've found reading some women's fiction, I've found muses, and with starting up Nora's books again, she also inspires me and my writing. She's also my muse. Thanks for your beautiful stories, Nora. There are THREE that stand out most for me: Three Fates, The Reef, and Black Hills (hope I got the title right...it's been so long, but I remember these stories very well). Right now I'm reading The Liar. It's very good so far. Love her descriptions, and the dialogue is fun, sharp, and engaging. And writing dialogue can be such a challenge. I'm learning much from her while I revise my novel I've been working on since I finished the first draft in January 2015. Thanks again, Nora!
I first discovered Nora Roberts about 7 years ago thru her J. D. Robb In Death series on audio book. After a couple years I began listening to her full romance novels too. One of the best gifts I've ever recieved was a Nora Roberts autographed book from a dear friend who was also a fellow book lover. I don't even want to imagine the In Death series ever coming to an end. I own every single book (including the half books) of the series thru Audible. I treasure them and have listened to all of them at least twice and have listened to my top 15 faves more times than I can count. Choosing an absolute fave would be like asking me which of my children are my favorite. Impossible!
Nora seemed to create J.D. Robb as a means of channeling her darker side, since her romance novels don't offer her that type of outlet. She even dresses differently for her photos on the backs of the books. Black leather, darker makeup, she looks like a femme fatale who's capable of picking locks and pockets and causing some trouble! Lol
I'm glad it wasn't just me who noticed! It's strange I can't really get into her Nora Robert's Romance books. But her as J.D. Robb, I've always loved Crime books and I can't put them down
@@mckenzimiller4282 I've definitely thought the same thing. She's not the only example, either; Catherine Coulter is another romance-turned-suspense novelist whose later work I've come to enjoy!
I am a huge fan of her books. I traveled for so many place reading her love histories. I have a huge colection of her books and i can't stop buying them.
Back in 2014, I read Nora Roberts Time Again. Since then I fall in love in reading. As of these days I read many books, different genres, different authors. But she's still my favorite. One part of my bookshelves is dedicated only for her books.
I like that her heroines so strong and there is friendships between the women. I started to rereading her In Death series and I like that I can see the same people in different stories. Maybe the quarantine will give me another Nora Roberts.
Nora cannot write fast enough to make happy. I read everything of hers I can get my hands on. All types of stories. Love the witches, the romance, the One series, all of them.
The Awakening was just released, I haven't read it yet, just skimmed the first 10 pages or so. It's the first of a new trilogy and I like to wait until the next book is soon to be released before actually reading it. It's supposed to be about Fae. I love the Guardians Trilogy, it starts with Stars of Fortune and the Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy, it starts with Dark Witch. I reread both of the trilogies every year.
Anusis Aman Some of the best books have been written about people who are not what everyone else calls beautiful but then that's why we have so many great authors to choose from.
What gets me is that in all the books I've read, not one of her characters seems to struggle with being overweight or out of shape in any way. That isn't reflective of real women at all. In fact, in many of her books, her characters are described as being underweight. It's as if she romanticizes being too skinny as attractive and endearing but not having excess weight. When you have such a large, female following, why not try to make slightly more relatable characters?
Kelly Kap, actually one of her most beloved recurring characters struggles with her weight on a daily basis. However, I don't want to read about "regular " women. I want to read about beautiful people doing amazing things. I live reality every day, when I read I want the fantastic, the extra! If I want weight struggle I can just look in the mirror😊
Spaniard_Flower25 Peabody isn't fat or ugly as she writes her.... She is just preoccupied with her weight that sounds like she is a total hottie....I mean McNabb calls her Shebody lol!!
if you read this .can you look up Gerardo Verastegui. please. a Mexican actor .he did a video with J lo he dedicated his life to help people understand and accept gay people.he sings Christian music. please look him up. i have a downs baby and your books have helped so much
I like her books but I wish she would do some research on guns. a 30 - 30 isn't a shotgun and their are no 5 ga. Shotguns like she writes about in Carnal Innocence.
I Love Read Romance Novels and Nora Roberts have That i Read her book and i i Love Reading in bed with one of her book Nora Roberts She my favorite Romance Novels I have 28 of her book on my bookshelf and She Good. That why I Read her book Thank you for Gate book and She my favorite Romance Novels and keep Reading her book
The fact that she makes women the heroes and the men are there and they have to deserve the heroines. They save each other. Monumental.
I love her books as well as her Eve Dallas series. It’s inspiring that she got turned down dozens of times. But kept at it.
I also love how she used her money to restore some of the town’s old buildings. The Inn is beautiful!

I got into the 'In Death' series this past year, and yeah, it should be made into a t.v. series. (I soooo want an AutoChef!)
Totally agree, would LOVE an high-budget In Death tv series! They'd have to find the perfect Eve and Roarke but it would be so satisfying seeing it on screen!
how about a drying tube also
Her In Death series has seriously made me fall in love with reading. I hope she never stops, I would love for it to turn into a TV series

Just finished Dance of Dreams. I love her works.
Inn Boonsboro is one of my favorite of Nora's series. So much like her real life hotel. What a cool lady.

Love reading her books, especially Dark witch and the Obsession so far....truly one of a kind

love her voice
Eh, to each their own. I find it kind of cold and arrogant sounding.
I met her once at a West Virginia Romance Writers of America meeting in Harpers Ferry, WV. Sadly the hotel there is almost ready to be demolished.
Icon truly. Everything about her.
Nora Roberts a melhor escritório de Romances . You Love you 🤗🤔😅😘
Nora cannot write fast enough to make happy. I read everything of hers I can get my hands on. All types of stories. Love the witches, the romance, the One series, all of them.

Wonder if the Eve and Roarke room has an Auto Chef...
All Hail NORA!🩷
I'm starting to like Nora Roberts more and more.

Romantic movie.
I was disappointed with the movie Carolina Moon, it didn’t capture the wonderful narrative
we could all die, least we did(or didn't) buy her books

Novel tofan andriansah
I found her charcacters of Ryan Baldari and his mom in her Homeport novel to be rather obnoxious and unlikable. The Sign of Seven trilogy was cool.
Why not put Nora Roberts in the video thumbnail?? Disrespectful. What use is the back of her head?
She isn’t writing the best stuff. I can tell that there is a choppy value to all she writes.
