GM seems to have hit the sweet spot of making a nice suv. I hope its reliable and itll be a solid buy.
If the Acadia has Terrain mode, will the new Terrain have Acadia mode?! 😋😆
dont make jokes anymore
I don’t understand all the trolls hating on reliability etc. We purchased our first GM product in 2016 coming from Mercedes Benz. Eventually we became a 100% GM household. We have had nothing but scheduled maintenance and one visit to install rear seat warmers due to the chip shortage in 2022. Any recalls have been taken care of when it’s time for a oil change. Our dealer sells Cadillac GMC Hummer and Buick. Every purchase has been heavily discounted from MSRP and we pretty much negotiate/haggle everything via text and email so the actual purchase is quick and easy. I think half the battle is to do your homework and find a reputable dealer.
Have you heard of Consumer Reports? GM products are trash unfortunately, same with Ford.
Consumer Reports is trash. They only survey they're subscribers, whom they scared into buying only Toyota's, Subarus, etc. They don't get much data from American or European car owners because few CU subscribers own them.
@GM, For 50K, the AT4 needs memory seats. The previous generation offered them. I’m 6’5”, my wife is 5’8”. We take turns driving on road trips. No memory seats is a deal breaker for us. Hoping you add them in the 2025 model when we’re ready for a new Acadia.
My buddies 04 Expedition even has memory seats that's actually terrible. But that's just GM quality control going down. I'd look into another car company if I were you.
2000 Tahoe had memory seat@@lidolf8168
I might be wrong, but I'm thinking memory seats could have been added to the touch screen like other things have
Definitely saving this video to come back to when i have time
Im very interested in the Chevy Traverse and GMC terrain with my growing family. Little Renegade is getting a bit tight and I want something that can access easy trails and forest service roads.
I'm looking for the same. I test drove the RS and was really impressed by the torque of the 4 cylinder engine. Although I want Z71 the RS is the only one they had available.
@peetymed Well, I just had a finger curl on the monkey paw. Depending on what the insurance says, I might be shopping earlier than I intended, which might limit my options. Huzzah for whitetail deer and their brilliant ability to get themselves killed.
Still, some older model Acadias within range of what I can afford right now. Also I realized I called it a terrain in my original post.
Nice car. Wont do serious trails but will do most forest service roads and 1-2 (maybe 3) trails just fine and get you to your campsite.
Agreed. It’s good for dirt roads, muddy grass parking lot, snow, rural needs, and forest roads that don’t need high clearance. So basically what 95% of people would do once in a while.
But so did my wife's Honda Odyssey 10 years ago with a good tire on it
@@omnipresentvideo7686 Wish I could say the same for our Odyssey. The open front diff has gotten us stuck a few times already in some grass parking after rain when it becomes mud. Even with good Michelin Cross Climate tires on.
when are you all going to test out the 2024 z71 traverse? (off-road, towing, etc.?)
Wonder how this would compare to the 6th gen 4runner SR5? I will cross shop the AT4 and SR5.
At least it didn't break down on the trail like the Tacoma.
Ive never seen a broken or rusted ridgeline or frontier. Tacomas are god but they are overrated and expensive
My mom has a 23 traverse rs... I will miss the v6, and the rear camera mirror is awesome! But the interior (and tech) is definitely showing its age.
Saying you'll miss that v6 is crazy, have you ever googled it 😂
Sea-Doo Switch!!! Neat review seems like a very capable and nice SUV from GMC - really unexpected to say the least.
It’s a shame we don’t get this size of SUV in the UK.
Price as is ?
Looks nice outside and inside dare I say some Mazda lines.. that mpg is kinda poor and here is the issue with with high HP high torque 4cy to achieve this there stressed. Vs a V6 or V8 which and provide it down low with out as much effort . Nice job overall gmc
The new Acadia and the Traverse look very good. I'm so over these tablet-style dash screens though. Just integrate it into the damn dashboard. Having to clean behind that tablet is annoying, plus if it breaks you're at the mercy of the dealership for repair/replacement, which is a 4-figure proposition. No aftermarket option as is the case with a typical in-dash unit. The LCD rearview mirror is a blessing and a curse. The advantages are obvious, but it takes what would otherwise be a cheap mirror and replaces it with yet another electronic device that will cost a fortune to replace when it fails. Regardless of trim, it's a softroader designed for commuting to work on highways and carting the kids and crap around. That's its primary mission.
As someone who lives where it snows I can say that rear view camera mirrors will be mainly useless during that season. Just gets coated with salt and snow...or just ends up breaking haha
Where is the gear shift? Is it a button or knob bs?
Would you call this a new generation now that it has a new engine (2.5T4 not 3.6V6) and new gearbox (8sp vs 9sp)?
2018 (Holden) Acadia owner here! Denali spec, ish. LTZ-V AWD.
I don’t think many people will miss the 3.6 v6. Doesn’t it have timing chain issues?
@@joetz1 I think that was the LFX from 2018.
Hey TFL, how does one get picked to go on a certain press event? What if everyone’s available, how do you decide it? Do yuu guys decide it, or is it the automaker that does?
Good question: It all depends on the calendar. Some of us have events planned a year out, while others are free for last minute shoots. It depends on several factors, including the time, place, duration, vehicle and whether they will allow a videographer.
@@NathanDAdlen thank you! I was hoping yall would cover it in the “Behind the Scenes” pod, but I didn’t see it. Safe moving Nathan!
5280 miles baby
Time will tell the rest of the story. Nice overview
Considering there's 2023 on the lots near me, GM better have made this a better model.. lol.
Great car, but the V6 on the old Traverse and Acadia variants got nearly the same mpg. This just wins in fwd configuration on the highway by 2 or 3 miles per gallon (not that much).
The v6s have also all blown up...
LOL... Piggley Wiggley.
Has this been recalled yet???
Its not a ford
@davidleeosbourne2727 ford didnt make international headlines for killing people 😂
Nathan!!!
These are a total new platform and this motor has got great reviews mechanicaly
To all the keyboard warriors in here saying "gm isnt bad because MINE was fine" shiuld spend some time in a GM shop. Its guaranteed income. Not one person in service drives anything from GM newer than 2013. They are hot garbage. Its not user error. We are puting in engines and transmissions literally every day. Don't even get me started on the steering amd suspension.
I've literally been saying this same thing...GM hasn't made a reliable vehicle since 2013.
I would take the Sea Doo switch. It is a revolution in boating, it is not a speed boat but a type of jet powered pontoon.
Usb C to A adaptors for a few bucks lol
Very, very nice I like this. They’re all going the four-cylinder route. Only a matter of time till the pilot goes four-cylinder to Pathfinder I just have a feeling since they’re all going to usually how that works. But we’ll see by what you like people everything has problems. There’s nothing perfect out there. I enjoy seeing all these comments of people bashing each other. It’s pretty sad that we can all act mature like grown adults.
The most logical comment on here.
Thank you
They just completely redesigned the V6 for the pilot and made it way more complicated and probably less reliable... Emissions I'm sure.
I’m just here for nate
Disturbing
🤘
Meh, I don’t see getting this over a Grand Cherokee with the proven (ancient) 3.6. Just don’t get the upper level ones with the air suspension - better to get the Limited with the option groups.
Nobody wants a 2.5 turbo 4 engine. GM just cut the bullshit.
No one wants the 2.5 turbo, but they do want economy and power at the same time.
I'd say it's Monkey Paw logic, but the new car market is driven mostly by people who don't intend on doing any maintenance themselves, and intend on trading it in within 3-5 years when it still has good value and hasn't had major issues. You can't expect new car buyers to care about what the second or third owner is going to deal with.
If you want v8 get a Tahoe. This engine has enough power to do what this vehicle is intended for. Probably better than 3.6 from French owned side of American car manufacturing.
Come to 2024 buddy, 4 cylinders are here to stay.
This engine has cylinder deactivation. You’ll be running on 2 cylinders on the highway
@frankleespeaking9519 really? Even with this small engine?
I’ve said this on other channels and I’ll say it here. This isn’t a car you buy. This is a car you lease or rent. Very cool car but man there is so much plastic in this thing not a good idea to buy.
Not to mention, fragile power trains.
More stuff to break, for the price of that ""truck" it should be good.
GMC Off Road look package. Plus legendary GM reliability folks!
Is this the Subaru of GM? For years Subarus have used GM vehicles as Subarus.
Not an SUV but a mini van.
I watch junkyard♻ videos and 6-10 yo Acadias🚙 are regularly mechanically totaled and crushed, even though if rust-free with rip-free clean interiors.
(AutopartscityIL)🚙
Some years are okay, but the early generation had some timing chain issues or something like that. Junk engines and even the transmissions are known to have some issues. I've driven a ton of these over the years from friends, rentals, and work vehicles and LOVE them, but I would be careful which year to buy.
Anything should be an improvement over the old Acadia/Traverse/Enclave. All hot garbage for years.
Have the Chevy for three years and 76,000 miles not one single problem. Great vehicle!
An absolute homerun from GM.
What a shame these budget SUVs have a better infotainment system than their flagship Tahoe and Yukon base and top trims.
2025 GM T1 SUVs will be upgraded with new screens and infotainment.
Is this really budget ?
So HONDA , gave GM their and system in exchange for the electric platform for Honda’s Prologue!!!
Mmmm, you said ranch.
This!!!!!!!! is not Doug lol
Have a Yukon and a Traverse currently. Family of 6. Traverse is barely driven, Yukon is the primary. The extra room in the rear, memory seats, entertainment system, power, towing capacity.... If you can swing it, get the Yukon/Suburban. Much better overall capability.
Nathan ❤❤❤
🤡
I don't care how good it is, im not buying another Acadia, or any GM product anymore, it was donated at 72,000 miles not running, after randomly rolling through our garage door in the middle of the night, 3 transmissions, an entire electric system, at least 5 battery's and one trip to the hospital after the back seat collapsed on my grandmother
OK. So, the GMC or the Chevy?
My 23 Sierra at4 is the best truck I've owned, might have to add one of these, just wish it came with the baby Duramax
I'm so disappointed in GM for the engine they put in the new Acadia & Traverse. My wife and I test drove one 2 days ago for her next SUV. We were so unhappy. It's very underpowered and works way to hard going up just slight hills. Should have stuck with the naturally aspirated V6. I mean, the Yukon, which is not much bigger now, has a V8! The interior is nice and we were pleased with everything except the engine. Shame!
^000 pound vehicle powered by a turbo 4. V6 or nothing.
More electronic garbage to glitch and break down and make car dealers unnecessarily busy and making money on non warranty parts. The best in class sized crossover, sad GM once again has gone even scandalously stingy offering just a 4 cylinder motor that get's not that much better gas mileage and real world power over its tried and true V6. It only saves GM manufacturing them while they squeeze more of their customers by charging way too much for what cost them very little to build and aren't known to be overall reliable. Non the less, it's an attractive vehicle and most likely will sell well ✌🏽🇺🇲
My sister bought an Acadia. It's the last GM vehicle she'll ever buy. Within 5 months it broke something 5 times. She was lucky and got a lemon law return after 7 months when it's transmission broke for the 3rd time. GM is complete garbage company now.
What year? My mom's 2010 traverse lasted through 2019 without issue until she decided to trade it in for something bigger.
@@dtay8913 22 or 23
Maybe it was your sister?
@@chadfanton9994 My uncle has a 21 Silverado with under 100k miles and it's on it's 2nd engine and transmission...
@@lordcorgi6481Wow, your family is hard on vehicles my man.
Roman hires high school students because he’s cheap!

that is a Honda Pilot
Prefer Ford Explorer ST-Line and ST Trims. ST-Line includes Blue Cruise.....however, "Lane Centering" works on ANY road with good lane markings 😂also adaptive cruise /stop/ start works on two lane roads. ALL 4 trim levels have these features. Hands Free is a gimmick that an experianced Electrical Engineer would prefer to just drive with at least one hand on the wheel.
Only 64 million dollars!!
Hope dona hybrid in the future.
If it is anything similar to its past iterations, it isn't. Besides, how can you say it is "This Good" ? How can you know it is good now and no longer junk? It is a 2025 model. Only time can tell.
Meh...its a GM. They're all junk nowadays. Sorry.
😂 GM does not have a right to be reliable? These are disastrous in reliability.
Absolutely no indication that modern chevy's have 'disastrous' reliability.
You're thinking of Acadias from 2017 or before.
@@lpfeffer99😂😂😂
@@lpfeffer99I always see someone saying things have terrible reliability under basically any brand that isn't a Toyota.
Under Toyota videos I see "I dont think this will be as reliable"
I just write these people off anymore, according to them my Jeep would have blown up 20k miles ago
I find that the people that don’t understand a maintenance schedule always complain about reliability.
Junk! Junk! Junk!
How?
@@Jack-yw7bq Well for starters, it’s GM. So, there’s that.
Super Cruise?!? Why would ANYONE trust their lives to these systems? Perhaps GM should focus their efforts on drivetrains that can get back to two hundred thousand miles and not these that will be so over stressed they will always be at the mechanics if not end up in a junkyard early?
Skip the super cruise talk. Who cares about it. Gimikie BS electronic junk... I've driven 30 ours to Florida with no idiot systems and was just fine...
So skip out on it instead of whining about it then.
@@khalil9611 troll much. It's called a comment section. Get over it.
It's not that good. 😂
Buy a Pilot or Grand Highlander....
Honda maybe, they're in bed with GM. Toyota? Not a chance. Bad vehicles. They were in bed with GM just not their favorite anymore. Toyota Crown, is the body designed by GM for the 4 door Camaro the people rejected. Lol. Look out people.
No
@@Thomas-rt1deWhere are you getting this information? 😂 GM did not design the Crown Signia. That makes no sense.
