- Here it is, the final episode of Series 4 of Keeping Goals! And as it is one of our favourite series so far, it was only right that we finish with a bang!
In today's vlog, we take you guys along for a Goalkeeper Training Session with the guys from The Modern-Day GK. I'm sure you guys know them already, but The Modern-Day Goalkeeper are a team of brothers who aim to educate and develop Goalkeepers within the modern game. They have worked with elite level goalkeepers, and their coaching style is admired by hundreds of thousands around the world, so it was a privilege to be able to work with them, and share the session with you all.

I actually got to use these in a one on one session with my coach last night, first time, used them for about 45 minutes, I was actually quite surprised how decent my handling was to be honest. 😅 Glad I finally got around to trying these out though.

EASILY one of the best episodes ever. This year my handling was one of the worst...I kept blaming my gloves but they had decent contact latex. OG blaze's to be exact but after learning about the spin it made me realise I didn't attack enough!! Possibly one of the only video clips in the GK world that talk about dealing with spinning shots!!

Well my season ended today and coincidentally Conor finished his last episode of season 4 my team came second this time and I saved a pen to get us into the finals. This video is great I had coach with my last team argue for ages the importance of staying more on line to give you more time to react and attack the ball especially for corners one step back to go forward . Never thought about killing the spin before but what a great video showing the importance of timing everything to give to the best possible change wether it’s kicking or catching.

When I started playing football I had a choice midfield or goalie I choose goalie and was for 4 years then I stopped working in goal and played outfield

Wow this is awesome. I've been follow both of you guys, and this was something that remained me 30 yrs ago. I started playing without gloves, and the 1st lessons they teach me was the way that you put your hands to catch the ball, and how to attack the ball. This is one of the best goalkeepers video I've watched in CZcams. Hope the young GK will learn I lot about. That shows the concentration it's the most important in a GK. O'Connor at the beginning you're not very confident with the gloves, and with some advices you start getting better with the gloves, and at the end your confidence was top, and when you put the gloves with grip it was like a fish in the water 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
I might start calling him O'Connor lol!!! - exactly that, I've watched and filmed a lot of Conor's sessions over the years now, and this one to me stands out as the most progression within a single session I've seen.

Today I made a silly mistake that led to a goal by not moving my feet correctly. But after that I made good saves that helped us win the game 5-1 and with a pk save. Hope I can get my handling as good as you two. Inspire me everyday watching your videos

Great video! I enjoyed the feedback about attacking the ball at the moment you'd have the strongest handle of the ball. It seems we are taught to take the ball down at the highest point so to beat the field players with a header on a cross into the goal (I could be wrong), but if your jumping your highest and your arms are up you will most likely still be above the field players. Great video!!!!

I have been doing goalkeeping without any gloves just bare hands and I like it better without any gloves and never faced any real problem in my grip, I can play with gloves too but I just don't feel connected to the ball that well.
