this video was great to help better understand the kashtira matchup but i would also like to see some gameplay of how to play first against kashtira to see how Branded can deal with the opponent's going second cards and just how to best interupt the kashtira player in general
Going first, the easiest way is if you have branded expulsion , you just lock them + win. The Quimera play is also very effect and priorize popping birth cause is what allows them to continue.
Going second, they can´t stop a Dragoon and you can do it even with arise-heart on the field.
Could you give some general tips on how to swap cards during the siding phase, considering match-ups and the possibility of going first/second ?

Btw, Ad Libitum can’t bring back Mudragon with its effect. It only works for Despia monsters or Level 8 or higher Fusions. Mudragon is a Level 4
hey at 5:33 it is important to remember that preparations can only summon from banished not from the grave it is different from birth so that's why they never got anything on board. Big fan keep up the great work!
It heavily influenced the match but @14:45 your friend/opponent heavily misplayed.
Off of rulings, he should have gone to battle and declared an attack with Fenrir to Dragoon. The in-engine out to dragoon for kashtira is scareclaw + fenrir. On attack DECLARATION, Dragoons effects are negated. Therefore, Fenrir can now declare dragoon a target, and banish it facedown.
Not sure what the response line would have been with branded in red as a response but you would have been much more on the backfoot with that line.
If Ad Libitum was in the GY, they could have pulled it with Red, used Dragoon to fuse into something so that the Fenrir target (Dragoon) is off the field, and then brought it back with Ad Libitum’s effect. Dragoon would lose the pop effect, but it would still have its negate effect available for further turns.

Just Fyi for future Kash players, the last game with scareclaw, fenrir, unicorn on board, don’t link to BLS there. Go to battle and attack with scareclaw and negate the dragoon. Then attack with fenrir too banish.

You only need to attack with fenrir, scareclaw doesn’t have to move

You're not playing mercurier with the lost. Since you can activate it whenever you fuse to add it to hand?
Preparation can only special summon a Kashtira monster that is banished or in hand, not in GY.
How did you get back the brandee openingto your hand at 7:20?
They can´t activate preparations nor birth cause birth summons on their turn and preparations only from banished/hand and he has nothing.

At 13:59 couldn’t you just pop the scareclaw with dragoon and swing for game?
Preparation only summon from banish zone and hand, not from jiway.
On the second match, I believe you had game but I wasn't sure if your siding patterns included taking out branded in white maybe? I believe dumping white instead of the lost would have secured game unless I'm mistaken, but I love all your content regardless. It's extremely insightful 🙇

is there a reason you play the level 7 dark kaiju? you could just play the level 9 light one (serves a similar purpose) and you don't risk the scareclaw? Still debating between kaiju or dark hole side personally to prevent the iblee lock!

I asked myself the same thing, I think I will tech the level 9 light one. The lvl 7 is just a free body to kash for them to Xyz if they stop my turn :(

The LIGHT Kaijus have 3300 ATK which is a bit hard to get over with monsters in my deck, if you don't want to waste your Mirrojade on them. But still considering it for next time...

The short answer is yes, especially if you play Dragoon and wanna go for it with Cartesia.

You can only Summon the Albaz since it was not properly summoned.
Kashtira prep has to summon from hand or banish. Cannot summon from gy.
How did he revive Grand after branded in red???
at 6:00 why do you go Branded in Red, add back Tragedy...then all of a sudden you're putting tragedy back and then adding Ad Lib and then summoning using Ad Lib, Granguignol and Ash?
Misclicked the target. Needed Ad Lib to get back Guignol.

Well thank you for this video, it is incredibly useful and I hope you make more like it, as a deck like Branded is not that straightforward with how one should pilot it, especially in weird situations like the Kashtira board you broke. My pea brain would probably just try to go for Branded Fusion and hope for the best, and then get horribly tilted after getting Nibbed.

You could have masqueraded on superpoly instead of mud dragon
Didn't play Masquerade in this build. Also, Mudragon is actually super good because it prevents targeting and all of their cards target.
