  • Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch sat Stuart Skinner for Calvin Pickard in Game 4 and the move paid off for Edmonton. Pickard, making his playoff debut, made 19 saves to help even up the series. The TSN Hockey panel breaks down the strong performance from Pickard and the Oilers' defence.

In the race to win the division, the Oilers played Pickard in games down the stretch that looked (on paper) like relatively easy wins....and lost some of them, and the division.
This is now a best of three, and home ice for 2 of them is valuable.
OTOH, the work that Pickard got late in the year may have paid back a big dividend last night.
