Such a shame that Level 42 are only ever associated with this song and their other hits. This band is still touring now into their 40th year. Mark king is recognised as 1 of the best bass players on the planet and they started the BritFunk movement in the 80s. They're amazing.
I appreciate your sincere honesty and you have a good sense of humor both of you. I'm glad you both liked this song. It was a song that I grew up with and it brought a tear to my eye hearing it again and seeing your reactions both of you. Thanks! God bless you both!
It's the bass. The bass guitar. When CDs first came out I was told, 'You've gotta hear LEVEL 42 on digital.' I had a brand new CD player so what did I do? I went out and bought this on vinyl. It was so not my kind of music (I was and am Rock) but I loved this song for the bass. Still do. Shaanti.
I haven't heard this song in a long time and while I have always liked and appreciated it I never really took the time to listen closely to the lyrics or even read them. This is really a wonderfully poetic and lyrically brilliant song that I never really noticed before today. Thank you Kirti and Savio for showcasing this song today and reminding someone that prides themselves on being somewhat musically aware that there is still so much that can be learned from looking at songs (and so many other things in life as well) from different and unique perspectives.
The sound is typical of a lot of bands in the 1980s - . gated drums, processed instrumentals. Wang Chung is a similar sounding band. INXS too. I like this sound and I appreciate your opinions.
Level 42 was one of the best funk-jazz band. Thanks for reacting to this video. Also, I invite you recting to Spanish songs (eg. Jose Jose one of the best Mexican singer who died the last year czcams.com/video/E20G25SCAEg/video.html). All the best and take care.
One of the best songs of the 80's. Great reaction.
This song still gets played on the radio here in the U.S. I love it I sing every time I hear it
Mark King was one great bassist and this song was testament to it. Simply brilliant .
One of my favorites from the year 1986.
This is one of best crafted pop songs of the 80s. Perfect in every way.

How about you break the cycle then and suggest some of their lesser known songs that has touched you?

In my top 10 greatest 80s songs of all time. Its a masterpiece and timeless. I always play the 12" version which is brilliant.
Not only did I grow up with it, Michael David's falsetto ranks up there with my mother's own voice
You mean Michael Lindup

On my playlist when i go out for my daily run a great (to me) 80's tune that takes me back.
3:14 At the start of the video I was like "yeah, they're gonna dance". I did not expect to see this... 😄

And now we save the processing for the voice parts, Autotune.
Yes. A step forward and two steps back.
Absolutely wrong on so many levels, no instruments processed whatsoever.
This was for my first love and I, Our Song. You never love a woman quite like that again.
I disagree the lyrics are far far smarter than the average love song. These are great wordsmiths.
I love you guys. Lovely couple and great reactions 👫👍
Splendid mellifluous nostalgic mid-80s top10 song 💫 Wonderful reaction enoma dears🌻Hope you had a great weekend 🎡
Thank you! You too!
I want to go back to 1986 and ask her.
