I’m a fan of your booktube channel! Your video inspired me to read more ya books and to became a writer in the future! Thank you!
I was able to guess all of these books on this list (lol) and I can’t believe I’ve been watching your channel for the past 4 years! You were the one who introduced me into the whole booktube world and I could never thank you enough for that, Sasha💗
Sasha I love you and your videos so much! You post such honest, inspiring videos along with ones that make me cry from laughing! You're just an inspirational booktuber and I love that.
Your hair looks AMAZING in this video! 🙅🏽🙌🏼
Love this video so much Sasha! I love seeing how different books change other people's lives for the better.
you really shaped me, sasha. i found your channel about three and a half years ago. you were my introduction to booktube and back into literature. actually, just today i finally uploaded my first youtube video and for a big part, thanks to you.
I’m not surprised about the city of bones 😂 you look exactly how I imagined clary plus I’ve been subscribed to your channel for so long I’ve heard about this book from you 😂
I loved hearing about this. You've done so much in 21 years and should be so proud! A Thousand Splendid Suns changed my life because I learnt so much about that book, about culture, about family, and it was the first book to became a favourite
A Discovery of Witches inspired me to try yoga! Now I've been doing yoga consistently for about two years. Yay for books !
This was such a beautiful video, really enjoyed it ❤️ I came across Outlander because of you, it had a great effect on my life too and I'm so thankful for it. I've only just discovered the Shadow world in the last month or two, and it is amazing I'm really enjoying the journey and it's heart warming to hear how it effected you with what you were going through at that time. Thanks for sharing this xx
Not a book but I just wanted to say that YOU changed my life for the better! You were the first booktuber I came across and since then I have read so many books and I now have my own booktube! I get to do so many amazing and exciting things with publishers because of it. Honestly clicking on your video all those years ago was one of the best decisions of my life :D So thank you!!
I just love the fact that you included your own book ❤️❤️ I also include my own book in the list of books that changed my life 😁💜
Finally bought Zenith!
Thank you so much for inspiring me. I never would have tired CZcams if it weren't for watching your videos
This video is so inspiring! I've been wanting to write about books that change my life on my blog but haven't got any idea how to write it. Your video inspire me to write one. One of the books that changed my life is probably Twilight because it introduced me to the Young Adult books. Another one is The Hunger Games because that trilogy help me discover my love of reading.
Okay, I've narrowed it down. Here they are in a slightly particular order: 1) Jane, Unlimited by Kristin Cashore. Honestly, I think this one came just a bit later than I needed it, but it still had such an emotional impact on me I'm glad it came after the craziness died down. 2) The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien for just inspiring me in everything. 3) Warriors by Erin Hunter for giving me a love of reading (and shout out to Animal Arc novels too). 4) Graceling by Kristin Cashore because it expanded my reading horizons and finally 5) Obernewtyn by Isobelle Carmody for just a mix of all my reasons above. It was also why I wanted to start a CZcams channel and being on BookTube has had such a positive influence on my life since I started.
I love this video! I feel like you’re super passionate about all of these books! I’ve been so bad with reading lately and this is really inspiring to me! ☺️💕
Awww this is so pure, I loved learning more about you!
The Mortal instruments helped me get through a rough period in my life too. I'm no longer an avid book reader but I still remember and cherish that book
I really love your videos. You are my favourite booktuber. Everytime I see that you uploaded a video makes me so happy! You got me into other booktubers but I watch you the most. You got me into many books and book series. I am a Jennifer L. Armentrout fan and Sarah J Maas and Kerri Maniscalco fan because of you. 😄
WE LOVE OUTLANDER!!! murtagh has my whole heart!! 💞
I am 16 years old and I’ve only been into reading for about 3 years now. However, I definitely have some books that effected me in a way or another. First of all, is The Fifth Wave, which opened my horizons towards the reading world. That was the very first book that got me into reading and which I am very grateful for, even today. Also the main character’s story really inspired me into putting my goals out there and really trying to reach for them no matter how far away they seem to be. Then there are Sarah J Maas’s books which also played an important role in building my confidence, teaching me to held my chin high and never let the bad days guide my life path. Also, Cassandra Clare definitely made my love for books more radiant and permanent. Her books thought me lots and lots of life lessons and to master different sorts of powers that helped me through hard times. THERE ARE SOO MANY BOOKS THAT FLOURISHED THE PERSON THAT I AM TODAY, but I feel like if I keep going, I’ll never stop. 😂 Oh and because of reading so many books written in English, I can actually speak it so that is really cool.
You are awesome and I am very happy for your success with Zenith. (Loved it by the way) Ok by now
Woooooooow....that's a one long comment....no offence,btw
Dashboard Bruhh...I don’t even remember writing this. (Haaa I dislike Sarah nowadays. )Why was I so dramatic as well....
@@mffm7321 MF FM , well?....no offence, though....I respect the reviews....I'm sorry if I said anything wrong....
The All Souls Trilogy is one of my favorites! I’m on my fourth reread of it right now. I was a history major in school and I love all of the history woven in throughout the whole series. Every time I read it, I fall into a wormhole of reading about the historical characters.
You’re such an inspiration!!!
The 5 books (or book series) that have changed my life :
1) The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
The best memory I have from my childhood. I actually saw a musical based on the book in Paris when I was 6.
2) Harry Potter - J.K. Rowling (aka the Queen)
How could it not? I watched the films first then I picked up the books two years ago and I haven't let go ever since! The series definitely changed my way of seeing the world.
3) Warrior Cats - Erin Hunter
That was the only thing I read back in middle school and I absolutely loved it!
4) Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
The series got me back into reading after a MASSIVE reading slump!
5) The Old Country - Mordicai Gerstein
This one is another fond memory of mine...it is the first book I remember reading by myself. It was given to me as present by my grand parents.
Anyway keep going! I love your channel (you actually got me to watch Outlander!).
Hey Sasha! I almost cried at the end of this video. I want you to know that you are my inspiration. You show me that even if life is hard, you have to fight back and never give up on living! I love you so much as a person and I really can't wait to read Zenith!
The first novel I have ever read was The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L.Frank Baum that I want to re-read. Another one was Karazan by V.M. Jones (a middle-grade quatrology) that I've read for three times already. The Host by Stephanie Meyer it's such a complex book that teaches you how to be a real human being and I love it sooo much. I've read it two times and I want to re-read it again. These are some books that helped me through my growing.
You are doing a great job with booktube and you make me want to be better each and every day!
Omg!!!! I love the "A Discovery of Witches" trilogy. It's in my top 5 favorite series!!! Can't wait to read the new book in the series!!!
i love hearing about what books changed people's life!
for me it was the infernal devices the series that shaped me as the person i am today
SASHA!!! I finally finished Zenith!!! absolutely amazing !!!
Love your Videos 💜💜
Love this. Discovery of Witches would be one of my 5. so amazing and inspiring.
This was so interesting and inspirational to watch! 💖
Wow this video was so special! I've been following you since 2014 when we were both babies
YES ANOTHER VIDEO FROM SASHA 😍
The Hunger Games
By Suzanne Collins
Before I read the Hunger Games, I just wanted to give up on reading. I couldn’t find any good books to read and was getting frustrated. Once I read it, I realized I just wasn’t reading the right genre and now I’ve read so many more books and my love for reading is what led me to this channel, which I am so thankful for. I love your energy when you talk about books, I really do.
Congrats you had your own book published! Something to be very proud of!
I have seen the first two episodes of A Discovery of Witches on Sky here in the Uk. It's good.
Great video.
Never forget you’re an amazing person❤️
You're so awesome sasha. ilysm 😊
Every book I read changes me in some way. I suck at picking lol.
I just wanted to let you know, that you are,
1) So so so beautiful on the outside, your style is really pretty, the way you do your makeup is perfect.❤️
2)I love how you are able to put yourself out here on the internet and talk about something you love, i’ve always wanted a booktube, but never had the courage, so i have an enormous amount of respect for people who aren’t afraid of doing this.
3) Your personality and the way you talk is really really really cute. I kinda feel like having conversations with ppl like you.
4)You have inspired me A LOT, don’t take that lightly, you have had such an influence on my life and who i am. You encourage me to be more myself, and have an opinion on things. You are why i have gathered a tiny bit of courage to start a blog. I love you so much. I am from all the way across the world. Literally. Like if you drilled a hole on earth from your house, you’d probably reach my house lol. I’m in Qatar. I love you more than you know.Take care of yourself💕
I have ordered A Discovery Of Witches since have been watching the tv show want to read the book can't wait to get it and start reading.
So many books have shaped me as a person but here are my top five:
1. I'd Tell You I Love You, Bur Then I'd Have To Kill You - Ally Carter
2. City of Bones - Cassandra Clare
3. Throne of Glass - Sarah J Maas
4. Divergent - Veronica Roth
5. Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda - Becky Albertalli
Love this idea! Thinking about it for myself, I'd have to say that Pride and Prejudice is probably the number one book that has changed my life. It inspired my love for classics, all things Jane Austen, the long 18th century, and, of course Keira Knightley LOL
The first choice was powerful .
I loved this book it’s amazing how much books help is through hard times. I just picked up mortal instruments book 1 and it’s on my TBR list lol that very long list 😩😭
Wow! Loved this.
You are one of the reasons I am who I am. You recommended me the lux series and divergent and those are the books that got me into reading and to change my perspective on lots of things so thank you. I have a list of top books that changed my life and they are six of crows, Divergent, the legend series by Marie Lu, the wrath and the dawn and the hating game.
I love you Sasha! You're so inspiring. I think the books that have shaped/ impacted me would be Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices series, Step Back in Time by Ali McNamara, and the Wrath and the Dawn duology by Renee Ahdeih. :)
I’m thinking about studying abroad in Scotland. I’m majoring in English education and minoring in creative writing and a huge fan of history and historical events. You are my biggest inspiration and you have inspired me to start writing.
What should I keep in mind when I travel to Scotland? Anything I should see?
Emma Evans awww this means the world for me to hear! Hmmm I’d recommend you try to see Isle of Skye, it’s magical
abookutopia Ooooo aesthetics and mystery
Hi I studied abroad in Glasgow spring semester of 2017 so I'm excited for you to (possibly) go and create your own adventures and memories! Travel as much as you can!!! Bus tickets are super cheap and go everywhere throughout Scotland and even into England. Edinburgh is magical. Glasgow is quirky and cool. St Andrews is beautiful and quaint! Also you meet a lot of amazing people, both natives and other international students. Have fun! Explore! Scotland and the whole of the UK is so incredibly beautiful! Enjoy as much as possible! I hope you go. It's worth every penny and stressful step to get there.
So energetic. Amazing!
I love this thumbnail! Youre so cute!! 💞💞
i love you xx great video!!
Saytanics thank you!!! Also LOVE your pro pic!!
For me there are three big ones that changed my life. First Percy Jackson, it got me into reading fantasy and opened this whole world for me. And then Harry Potter of course, it just meant and still means so much to me and introduced me to the world of Fandoms.
And the Throne of Glass series, it's just so close to my heart and I love all the characters and the story and the world and it inspires me so much. Just reading about Celaena and Manon and Elide and Lysandra, how they are all strong in different ways and take no shit, they really push me to find these strengths in myself.
I've been watching Outlander and I loveeeeeee it 😍😍. I'm OBSESSED with it. And as at first I didn't know it was based on books, I didn't read them first. After having watched the TV show, would you still recommend me to read the books? 💕
Brooklyn by Colm Tóibín, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Outlander by the goddess herself Diana Gabaldon, and for the last one, can I just list all the Harry Potters? (Also these are in no particular order, just the way I thought of them)
Omg! I love A Discovery of Witches! I also love the Tiger's Curse series. It got me reading again, but I don't hear about it much on booktube.
Krissy N. That’s awesome!
I love the tigers curse series!!!!
My five books...
1.) The Crown and Court Duet by Sherwood Smith.
2.) Torn Thread
3.) Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
4.) Sarah Plain and Tall
5.) Sacrifice of Love by Quinn Loftis
And an honorable mention to Rouge by Karen A Lynch.
I could say more, it seems every book I read changes me or strength me in who I am and helps me decide who I want to be.
For me, I have to thank The Gatekeeper series by Anthony Horowitz for introducing me to the oh soo lovely world of reading back in elementary school. The spiderwick chronicles was also inspirational to me and allowed me to escape into a different world, one that I could never fabricate with my own mind, and brought me sooo much joy as a child (this was my 'harry potter series' growing up haha). The secret circle & Vampire Diaries & Darkest Powers (all a little paranormal) series got me interested in YA. When I fell off the reading wagon in high school, I'm forever thankful for Cassandra Clare and her Infernal Devices series for yanking me back in (the emotions I felt reminded me of why I started reading in the first place) Lastly, I was immensely inspired by Holly Black and her book The Cruel Prince--thank you for pushing me into the realm of book writing.
I LOVE THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES!! That and Harry Potter meant so much to me growing up!
This video was amazing, it touched my heart so much and I feel slightly less insane for my personality being so dependent on books haha
i can tell you the most important book/series that got me into reading and i can't stop recommending people to read it ....the vampire academy by richelle mead shaped me as a reader....i was so into that world and story that made me read all the well known and apreciated book series and i reread the series every year
Divine By Mistake by PC Cast. This book changed me so much because it inspired me to write my own book which I never thought I would ever do because I doubted myself. But I read this book. And then I read PC Casts Goddess Summoning series and I realised that I am not only a beautiful goddess in my own right but also that I can do anything if I really believe in myself and never let anyone take my shine. 🌟🌟🌟
You’re only twenty one? You seem so mature and you’re so confident. Good on you! Love your videos. 💕
i really need to read the whole outlander series!!
1. Lucas by Kevin Brooks as it was the first personal book I read in high school that exposed me to injustice and prejudice. It hit me really hard and I always go back to reread it and think about it.
2. Being Mortal by Atul Gawande because it reinvigorated my drive to go to medical school and alerted me to the difficult conversations that doctors have with their patients.
3. Goosebumps by R L Stine. I wouldn't be a reader without this series to keep me company during my childhood.
4. Chicken Noodle Soup for the Teenage Soul (and other such books). These books gave me life during my tumultuous puberty and early teenage years. They helped me sort through my depression, self harm, and sexual assault when I wasn't ready to talk about it with others. They also made me feel that I wasn't alone and that I too could find my voice.
5. The Beautiful Miscellaneous by Dominic Smith. This book kindled the researcher in me and drove me to study a fascinating sensory phenomena. After reading this I worked on 2 study projects, joined a research lab, and completed a research minor at my university.
One that I can't leave out because you directed me to this book: The Kiss of Deception by Mary E Pearson because it combined strong women chasing after their dreams, fantasy, romance, and a mystery into one fantastic book. The strong friendships and families Leah forms in the book while she handles such tragedy that life throws at her in the book is something that pushes me to keep fighting today.
Zenith was the first book I bought with my Barnes and Noble membership. It is amazing so far, I can't wait for Project Red!!
This video was really beautiful ❤️
And City of Bones is a book that change my life too ❤️➰
You've read Stalking the Jack Ripper! You are my hero 😍😍😍😍
Just finished Zenith, it was GREAT!
I’ve always loved books so this will be a hard decision, but I’ll try.
1) the help by Kathryn Stockett
2) city of bones by Cassie Claire
3) throne of glass by Sarah J Maas
4) eragon by Christopher Paolini
5) the time between by Karen white
How many books are in your Zenith series?
Divergent by Veronica Roth- was the first book series that got me obsessed with reading!! I fell in love with the world of divergent and I don’t think I would of started reading without it.
Shatter me by Tahereh Mafi - is my favorite series ever, it has so much character development and I absolutely ate UP the romance in it. It has humor and action and the writing style is gorgeous ( kinda has a poetic style) THANK YOU TAHEREH MAFI
Caraval- The caraval series is a new trilogy that I’ve fallen in love with, I finished Legendary a few days ago and cannot wait for the 3rd book to come out. It’s magical, colorful, and it’s just so! fun! to! read!
The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh- is a novel that has not really made it big but ummm seriously it’s so captivating. The story is about a girl who’s lived in 32 foster homes and becomes a flower arranger. This movie is raw and soo beautiful and the powerful protagonist Vanessa has impacted my life in so many ways.
Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand- is life changing, it’s a WW2 nonfiction story of an olympic athlete who turned his life around and endured through so many hardships. This story is astonishing and a much read- plus it’s a movie and it’s incredible, it’s changed my life and has given me such a different perspective on life.
A thousand words
I read it when I was just 14 and this book made me realise that ' love makes family not blood'
Now I know I'm going to adopt my kids when I'm ready to be a mom♥️
Percy Jackson
This is what made me a reader. Thanks to Percy I fell in love with reading.
This song will save your life
This book made me understand my best friend a lot better.
Cress
Cress herself taught me a lot. I'm a lot like her physically and emotionally. But the way she behaves is so different from me. She taught me that it's okay to say what you feel out loud and never be ashamed of that. And also just be courageous!!
To be honest the only thing I can think is the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid series! I am 17 and I still read them. And I am so excited for the 13th book coming out in October.
13?? omg. I thought I was close to owning them all for my son but I only have 7 lol.
I thought I would never find another person whose favorite series from the shadowhunters verse was The Mortal Instruments! I could write a book about how much and why I love TMI
This video made me very emotional ❤❤❤❤❤❤thank you for sharing your passion for books and how it changed your life . Books in general changed my life but also your channel changed my life . When I was 7 years old my mother's boyfriend abused me (sexual abuse ) for 5 years and when it end I started loving books more and more . I looked for someone that shares my passion for books. So that's how I found your channel, your book recommendations made me smile and I had something to be excited about ( when a new book came out ) My English improved as well . love you so much
This was such a cool video! I want a lot more to do this because it's so interesting how books affect people's lives. But it's a tough question to answer... I think I'll go with:
1. The Evergreen Woods, because my mom has read it out loud a million times and it started my love for books.
2. Harry Potter, because it was a place to feel safe and escape the real world at a time I needed it.
3. City of Bones, because it got me back into reading after a couple of years without reading more than what was required at school.
4. How Huge the Night, because it was the first book I translated which made me positive that I want a career in publishing (the Danish title is: Stor er verden, sort er natten).
5. The Bible, because I learn more about God and myself when I read it.
"The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L.F. Baum was the first book I read at the age of 5.
"Le Bal" introduced me to my favourite author ever, Irène Némirovsky.
Thanks to "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins I met my two best friends and I got in the world of fandoms.
"Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon made me understand that there's no place in the world I'll ever love more than Scotland.
"A Supposedly Fun Thing I'll Never Do Again" by D.F. Wallace was the last book I read and it made me fall in love with new literary genres.

I absolutely love this video because it has similarly got me into thinking about how much a book can change a persons life.
1. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas - This book series was recommended to me by my RA boss. I had previously been in a slump of reading that last years, but ever since that day I have felt so inspired to see the magic of books. The way she writes, her twists and turns, the romance and the fantastic (and book boyfriend Rhys

Sasha, when did you write your first book? I am 12 and I’m planning on writing a novel. However, I need some author advice from you.
Hi Glitter Pixies :) since Sasha isn’t answering I‘ll just take that upon me & even though I‘m not a published author I hope you‘ll take my piece of advice.
I think the most important thing is to remember that you’re twelve. You already learned so much and you’re probably eager to get that story out of your head and into the world. I remember how I was dreaming of the world celebrating me as the youngest bestselling author there has ever been. That is a very nice dream but as I got older and still hadn’t written and published said masterpiece I started to doubt myself. For a while I gave up writing completely because I believed nobody wanted to read the work of a twenty-something year old. Now that I‘m over twenty I know that that’s still very young.
So, what do I want to tell you with this lengthy story? Remember that you have time. And you *should* take that time! To do your research on writing, on different topics, to get to know your world and your characters. Definitely watch some AuthorTube videos (e.g. Vivien Reis,...), especially on plotting, even if you consider yourself a pantser. Take that time to read more and practice different writing styles. Even if you believe to know what works best for you.
Lena Ni
Thank you so much for replying back to me. Although, it may feel nice to be a bestselling child author, I must work hard and take my time to write a good story. You inspired and motivated me to continue working on my passion. I have always loved both reading and writing. I have read many books. I decided to think about writing as well. As a toddler, I would scribble my thoughts and ideas on old newspapers. At the age of 8, I really wanted to write my first book. I had started working on this writing project, but I soon discontinued. Four years have now swept by. Without havoc, I have finally decided to continue writing.
Lena Ni
It has now been two years and I wrote a draft of my novel, Blessings and Pride that I had to get rid of. However, I have written several short stories and poems and I have particularly fallen in love with short fiction.
TMI might not be my favorite series, but it was the first book i ever read... I never read anything growing up so I'm grateful for these books ^.^
I really want to read A Discovery of Witches, especially since it's now a TV show!
Did you read The Gentleman's Guide To Vice and Virtue? I feel like you would really like it. It really empowers women and minorities and I just loved it even though I usually don't like books focusing on a lovestory.
I still really need to read Outlander! Also my brother is in college for Anthropology! So that's awesome! And I'm reading Stalking Jack the Ripper and it's so good!
I’m studying anthropology as well!!! X

You totally look like Brianna from the Outlander series, not exactly how she looks in the filmed series, but how I imagined her when I read the books. 😍😍😍
