Sure kicker isn’t bad at all, by far not the best and not something I would buy, the price for most of their subs and amps makes 0 sense to be that high, when an absolute amazing quality company ct sounds exists, I’ve ran a whole mess of their products and sold a mess of their products and love them to death and for the same price as kicker you get a whole lot watts rms and bigger subs
@@alexrippons9260 I don't know much about CT Sounds but I believe CT Sounds are built in Chinese OWNED build houses, with Chinese quality control.....
Kicker is made in China... But Kicker OWNS the build house, and Only builds Kicker, and Kicker controls quality.... unlike many others subs that are all built in the same Chinese owned and quality controlled build houses.... the brands choose from a selection of their stock baskets, cones, motors etc, and surrounds and slap their name on it... All built with the same low quality parts and the same low quality control.... (you get what you pay for)
We all know things built under Chinese quality control are disposable and never last as long as the should... I have a 15+ year old CVR that is still hittin.... But I now have the round Q Class which is a very good and well built sub..! It's not a "SPL" sub per say, but it will take a beating for sure, and sounds very clean.
As for "bigger subs" and "whole lots of watts" That's all just a marketing gimmick for $PL kids that want to rattle their car apart and don't care about SQ...
You don't need subs built like that, that require that much watts to drive to have a GREAT sounding system... It can easily be done with EFFICIENT subs and less than 500 watts for the total system.
Kicker costs too much for what it is for me.

Most of their stuff is pretty fairly priced.
The Round Q Class are almost as good as W6's at half the price... I've had 10's and 12's and they both Pounded Clean...!

Kicker audio products cost through the roof even in India. I opted for a Sony 12" subwoofer Xplod Box over Kicker because cost was 40% higher for the equivalent friggin enclosure subwoofer

Running a solobaric L5 right now. Had L7s back in the day. Ill stand behind them, some serious bass

I had two 12” L7’s back in the day and they were insane. Had an infinity amp pushing them, hit 142db easy in a spl competition from the trunk
After dabbling for 25 years in car audio, I've come to learn that your power source and applying the small perimeter theory building a box not only for the speakers but for the vehicle makes a bigger difference than the equipment itself
It’s all about how you set it up. I had 2 kicker 10s in a custom box off 300 watts and it was louder than some peoples 15 setups.
Still have 2 4 ohm 18 in kicker comps and 2 8 ohm 18 in kicker comps. Right now the 2 8 ohm are bolted in the rafters in the attic. Im powering them with an old Yamaha 200 x 4 reciever from the early 2000s. Ill put my home surround sound up against anything at Best Buy.
I've never had any kicker products, but I definitely think they make some of the best quality products out there
On my 06 Accord and I'm also using fm modulator and the stock Honda 6 cd changer radio with a 2 channel Crunch Amp and 2 12 inch Kicker Comp C speakers and it sounds good. I did the install myself and I added a kill switch through the remote cable for days that I don't want to bump or I see a cop.
Funny story, ive installed tons of kill switch types 😂.ive done standard flip switches, push switches, ive connected the remote wire to ignition fuse 😂 if i wasnt able to connect it to the back of the deck. But my most "wtf am i doing" connection was to the auxilary light fuse. So to turn the amp on i would turn my park lights on lmao 😂🫡 good times
Not sure why anyone would trash talk Kicker??? They're one of the only American car audio companies left...that's still the same company it always was. Orion, PPI, Soundstream, MTX, Fosgate, etc. all bought out by larger investment groups, conglomerates, etc. some of them multiple times over the years. A lot of them also just nothing but a brand name these days.
Facts. The nostalgia factor with Kicker will always be strong with me, and it definitely saddens me about what happened with those other brands you mentioned. You were the shit if you had any of that stuff back in the 90’s. I still remember being a 14 yr old in 1995 when the “cool” older neighbor pulled up and showed off his 2 kicker 15’s in the trunk with Rockford amps. That sound- I was hooked.

Yup I own old school American made soundstream amps and pair of subs the last ones made in the USA. But I also have kicker solo baric silver one that is rounded 8ohm still kicking ass
True... I used to love my Soundstream reference series amps and subs in the late 90s. Had the Reference 10.0 chrome amp and it was a beast. It was stupid expensive, but worth it. Its sad that Soundstream and the others all sold out. Those names used to mean something. Now you got "12000 watt" soundstream amps that cost $80 and actually put out closer to 120 watts smh
I have a pair of old school solo x. Love them . Running them with a audiobaughn ch2300 amp. They pound!
What's crazy is those subs can be decently louder in a different enclosure....

@@225savage0 Yeah you never see them ever. I miss EARTHQUAKE SUBS,the equipment demands lots of power. But the more power the harder the subs hit. I had 2 18's with 1200 true RMS power. Cracked 3 windshields. A whole lot of fun! Never blew them once
I spent 500$ on sound deadening and it was so worth it. Don’t buy the cheap stuff either.

I don't know anything about kicker electronics, but the speaker drivers are well made and solid. I've used a lot of their drivers. My personal preference is Orion, but I'll take kicker anytime.
Nothing wrong with kicker except for the price.
Can get cleaner and louder for less.
And be reliable.
I got 2 15in cvr from like 2010 i need to hook them back up but they slammed on a kick 1.000 db amp

Lol. Back in the 90s they did not sound good compared to ppi and mb quarts. The shop I used had Petra subs that Dino could make them blend soo well with the mids.

Kickers slap... Also slap for years on end... At least in my experience. Not any brand fan boy but it's a safe bet, sort of set it and forget it. I have CVRs (second hand) for 10 years or so.
Get some dynamat and there wont be so much LP leak from the trunk. That way the bass can truly carry to the front of the car without loss. One of the best speakers i ever bought. Still have mine from 2008

I’ve been knocking CVX’ 12’s for 🗣️TEN YEARS STRAIGHT!!!!! I’ve never measured the sound but it’s ran by TS-POWER by Nesa 3000w. Infinity Kappa 6x9’s and door speakers w/Audio Control epicenter. TS-Power 2200 pushing those. Nare passenger has been able to take it. Just being honest. 0 problems the ENTIRE TIME IVE HAD MY SYSTEM INSTALLED AND STIIIIIIL BUMPIN

I have the cxa 1800.1 450 dóllars plus 100 dollars for 0 gage copper wire plus 120 in batteries plus 120 for the big3 and still cant get it working properly without dropping major voltage😢 and all I have is a 12 dual coul ct sound 1500rms 🤦♂️
What would be the benefits of using the the lc2i vs the kicker 47 keyloc for signal from the factory head unit? Or what would be the deciding factor for using one vs the other?

Ah yes you have to use kickers literal best subwoofer to show how good they are yes the big ass l7s hit but they are expensive especially for a kicker id rather buy sundown audio or Skar over kicker there subs blow easy and they aren’t meant at all for being competitive yea you can compete with them somewhat but they can’t take full tilt demos back to back there design just isn’t great they are a og brand and I’ll always recognize them for being a og but there products aren’t that great anymore unless u wanna spend abunch of money
That's not their best subwoofer. And we carry and love Sundown as well. Kicker's best sub is still cheaper than Sundown's best.
@@hi-techcaraudio4303 kicker went down a lot on there quality personally also sundown is a competition sub brand they aren’t meant for a old man who just wants some extra bass in his car it’s gonna be more expensive because sundown subs are higher quality by a mile, the best cheap car audio brand hands down is Skar audio there products are extremely underrated and with clean power to them they are perfect and will last a while

Except that their subs are inaccurate as all hell which I can't stand. Much rather have Alpine R imfinity or even MTX for that matter. Kicker is only good at making noise.
