  • Monday, October 24th, my son and I made our way South to San Jose, CA. and the SAP Center. We had upper bowl (nose bleed section) tickets. We were there to see The WHO, Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, 2 rock icons perform their greatest hits covering several decades. They were backed up by a 5 man band that included Zak Starky on drums. Zak is the son of legendary drummer Ringo Starr. The legend says Keith Moon gave Zak his first drum kit. Actually, Ringo had given him a small four-piece Ludwig kit when he was eleven. They also had an orchestra of 30 people, including French horns, violins and bass. After we arrived we noticed that the upper sections were blocked off. I asked how to get to our seats and was told that the lower floor was not sold out, and that we were being moved to the floor area. WHAT? Next thing you know we’re in 100.00 cushioned seats with a great view! The show starts off with Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs. Mike was guitarist for Tom Petty. So we were given an impromptu Tom Petty concert! Audience sing-a-long to “Refugee”. Awesome!
2+ hours later we left the show riding a “Magic Bus” of good vibes and great memories.
