- Join us as we look at the fast and furious history of Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue. This show has been at the park since 1992 replacing An American Tail. Featuring the classic monsters this rock n roll show was the perfect afternoon comedy break. It closed in 2016 and was replaced with Fast And Furious - Supercharged. Turn down for what?

This was a fun show! On the flipside, I blame F&F for rising sea levels, air pollution, bird suicides, cancer, and the decline of intelligence in World population.
Fast & Furious should’ve been a live action stunt show. Not a ride.
Agreed
Yes.
Agreed, but honest they have far better ip’s they could used even for shows. As for the ride building. would be better used, to bring back earthquake with everything falling apart while trying to escape the city.. it’s missing the point of a studio theme park.
No it should have been a high speed high thrill coaster racing through the streets
They should have just skip it
Or built it somewhere else !
Kinda appropriate the song snipped you chose for every time you mentioned the terrible Fast and Furious attraction....every time I realize just HOW much they destroyed JUST to build that horrible attraction, it just makes you want to scream...”TORN DOWN FOR WHAT?!!”
I wonder how it could be fixed.
Putting down Fast and Furious never gets old
Right
Bruh I made the mistake riding it my last day of universal before Disney
Who ever disliked this video actually liked fast and the furious
Must be
I think they disliked to show how much they disliked fast and furious.
I love the franchise but the ride sucks
Yeah fast and furious supercharged should be a stunt show instead of that horrible ride but beetlejuice is better
It’s funny because is true 😂😂😂
I think about this show a lot. Particularly how Beetlejuice is kind of undergoing a resurgence in popularity right now with the Broadway version. Universal kind of played themselves getting rid of this when they did. I’m not sure how it’d work with the rights and such, but I guess they could always revive it as a tie in the musical one day (knowing universal though probably well after it’s closed and well after the popularity boost the franchise just got begins to die a bit)
As a loyal Fast & Furious movie fan, that ride is a disrespect 😂
I'm not a fan, but if you love the movies, I can't see why you'd like a ride where you ride in a bus rather than FAST CAR?!
Siobhan Lawper Exactly! It’s literally so simple, the movies are about FAST CARS. Not a party bus 😂
@@carzies4717I wonder how it can be fixed or improved.
I use to fly out to Florida literally specifically for this show. I still have autographs and photos in my scrapbook. Great memories. Such a shame. As a kid I had dreams that I was in the band with the monsters. Wish they would bring it back
I like that Wayne Brady and Joey Fatone got their starts on this show. They both use to preform at the Orlando one.
I said that haha
@@ExpeditionThemePark Yeah I posted that before I finished the video, but you didn't mention that Dee Bradley Baker, voice actor on American Dad and other shows, was THE original walk around Beetlejuice, (and trained future ones) in Orlando. Before that he was dong work at Epcot, and other jobs in the area but stopped working in parks when they used him on TV in 1993 for the voice of Olmec on the Nickelodeon Show, Legends of the Hidden Temple.
Can’t forget that they both were on the masked singer!
If I ever become a millionaire, I'm going to pay Universal to put on the Graveyard Revue again. I never got to see it 😫
You could find videos of it here on CZcams, but if you’re referring to in person join the club I’ve been going to Universal ever since I could remember even when Jaws, Earthquake/Disaster, Twister, Back to the Future, and Jimmy Neutron was still and I’ve still never seen Beetlejuice.
You want to buy Comcast
@@JeffreyPiatt eww no lol I would just pay Universal to I guess lease the characters to me so I could orchestrate the show. I wouldn't charge people to see it because I'd be a very nice eccentric millionaire 😁
might be in the new park in the rumored classic monsters area
So they tore down TWO attractions (3 during HHN) to build ONE copy paste ride no one liked in the first place? **Slow clap*
Well, at least Beej is on Broadway
Ironic also how most of his shows in Universal always included musical performances as well
Not for long :(
Bout that 😬
Beetlejuice lives on :)
I wish Beetlejuice could just destroy F&F
Same haha
Have you tried saying his name three times while on that dumb party bus?
@@missybarbour6885 That sounds like a great flash mob idea, get a bunch of people to go on F and F and have them all shout Beetlejuice over and over the entire ride. Maybe they would get the hint? (if they allow costumes maybe have a few or all dressed as Beetlejuice. )
I would join him I feel like that would be a fun experience
Loved Beetlejuice’s Graveyard Revue. My family would see multiple showings of both this and the Horror Makeup show during our vacations. We still do with the Horror Makeup show, but we miss the Revue a lot (not the last version, but the previous ones) - excellent video!
Thank you!
That cut away to the Fast and Furious Bus with the "TURN DOWN FOR WHAT" sting, should be a recurring gag for this channel. Whenever you refer to a "bad ride" it can't be worse than that.
My old boss (who now works at a pet shelter) used to dance in this show since it was graveyard revue and later became the head choreographer!!! We love Orlando history
F&F is so darned bad...always makes me sad remembering what we lost for it. I really hope it's extremely short lived...give us something good back in that area!
It would be great if they could just absorb the ride into Diagon Alley. I feel like they've been lacking in their ride development lately (Jimmy Fallon *cough cough*). It's close enough for them to easily make the switch to something Harry Potter. They want to expand the land, so just let them take over this disaster.
@@jordyreviewsit Amen, I'd be fine with that. Ministry of Magic would work fine there! Anything but F&F
@@MELANIE1001 but that might mean it would still be stuck with the busses right? for what i can tell the busses like ride system is why pepole don't like F&F (that and the cg of the city you chase in)
dapper loser They could definitely relay a track and make a faster ride. They may need to eat up more space, but there’s so much space already in front of the facade and the queue is soooo long because of that garage portion. It’s definitely doable.
this was my fav show 🤧 when i went back this year i did see beetlejuice walking around which did make me just as happy but i wish the show was still there cuz fast and furious is the worst ride..
if this was still at universal today it would be sooooo popular
I would see it!
Yeah cause it’s now a popular musical😂
Especially with the musical now
The first time I went to Universal Orlando I was a kid but I still remember this show. It was fun even for someone who didnt know who the ghost with the most was (yet).
Can you do The History of Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris.
One day yes not sure when
I second this motion.
That would be amazing! Phantom Manor is my favorite HM and they just did a great renovation for it where they brought Vincent Price's audio back.
No wonder I hated this show when I got older. they added watch me whip
A shame. I feel like Beetlejuice is just now reaching its peak popularity, if they had just saved this show, and maybe reworked it to remove watch me whip, it would be SUPER successful over there
Yeah I think so too
Universal failed when they removed this show for another cheaply done ride. I'm really glad that they saw that error and put more effort into Hagrid's new ride at Wizarding World. Too bad I can't ride that, though. Can't do coasters and thrill rides and Care and Keeping of Magical Creatures is my FAVORITE Hogwarts course. -_-
Beetlejuice... Beetlejuice... BEETLEJUICE! It's Showtime! Happy to see a history of a much loved and much missed show. Thankfully they still have the Monsters Cafe at the park, so the classic monsters haven't been totally forgotten after losing this show! I loved the original version of the show with the Phantom of the Opera the most. It's the one I first saw when I was young and one I cherish most. I also have the original show recorded on a few VHS tapes from various visits back in the 90's. So much nostalgia. Now..... well... I'm not even going to mention how I feel about it's replacement attraction that I shall not name.
If you're able to Digitize those VHS I'd love to see the shows! Trip down memory lane.
@@paulhope5849 If I could and knew how I would. :(
Literally no history for F&F literally none
Okay!
Ah yes our nemesis... fast and furious supercharged.
We meet again
I went on the fast and furious ride a couple of days ago and my god, the Cat in the Hat ride was faaar more exciting
This should come back with the Beetlejuice Musical being so popular
*DAMN YOU TO HELL, THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS!* First you jump the shark by becoming this decade's answer to the Saw movies (a good movie with sequels of degrading quality) and then you kill off some of the most beloved attractions in Universal history. MAY THEIR BLOOD BE ON _YOUR_ HANDS!!!
I remember seeing this when I went in 2015 in Orlando. My grandmother absolutely loved it. And the it sucked the next year when we went, as we saw what would become the F&F.
Blasted pandemic ruined Betelgeuse/Beetlejuice's chance to be the "icon" of HHN 2020.
I think that Beetlejuices Graveyard Revue could return with Epic Universe.
All of these Beetlejuice musical shows, I honestly shouldn't have been so shocked when Beetlejuice: The Musical, The Musical, The Musical came to Broadway.
I'll always have a soft spot for this show. My family holiday in Florida occurred at the time I was starting to actually listen to music. The show and the blues brothers show really caught my attention and are now a big part of where my love of blues rock developed. Now I'm a guitar and massive blues and rock music lover
OMG SAME. I liked Blues though but for some reason was not into the Blues Brothers. I turned out to be more into rock out of the two and maybe it was reinforced by the fact that out of all the times we've gone, I saw Beetlejuice way more than the Blues Brothers... that and my parents are rockers themselves, so they would get all into Graveyard. XD
Your digs at F&F are awesome
That ride suuccckkkkkss
I feel a Beetlejuice Horror Nights house is in our future
Yeppppp
@@ExpeditionThemePark Double points if a TV somewhere in the Maitland-Deetz house is playing clips or an episode from the cartoon series. We can't ignore a good cartoon, too.
But then... maybe that's a bad idea because I would literally stop just to point it out to people and tell them how freaking amazing that series is.
It is just announced
Oh man I love fast and furious super charge
(said nobody)
Here we go again
I'm happy to say I had the good fortune to see this show at USH when I was a kid. If I renember correctly, one of the songs they performed was Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name".
I'm always enjoying your content because of the indepth facts and nostalgia it provides, but your hate for the Fast and Furious ride gave this episode a surprising touch. That was great comedic timing
seems like beetlejuice is the perfect character to use in tandem with others; whether universal monsters or perhaps other characters. Especially ones that still have a fanbase, but perhaps not quite enough of one for a show all their own.
I don't know about Universal Studios Florida but the one on the west coast is doing Throwback Thursdays where they'll be including this show. Really excited to go back and see the show from my childhood again!
Well, maybe we will see this show come back in a new form with the suspected Universal Monsters area of Epic Universes.
Hopemsp!
HOPES UP, FINGERS CROSSED, MY GOBLINS AND GHOULS.
I live the “Turn down for what” bits you put in. Haha. It sucks such a fun show was cancelled.
All of Beetlejuice's shows involve music, and then, several years later, it would make for an AMAZING Broadway musical.
Omg that opening. 😂
I didn't know about the American Tail theatre and how they used to have all the characters there. So sad I missed out as a kid. I didn't go to Universal until 2010 and was 17. I knew that they sometimes had Fievel meet and greets but I've yet to see him.
Hopefully with universals new park coming with a universal monster section maybe Beetlejuice can Rock Again. Make Beetlejuice Rock Again!!!!!!
BRING. IT. BACK. BRING. IT. BACK. BRING. IT. BACK.
I knew a lot of the various cast members. When the updated show in 2014 came out I knew the show was on borrowed time. There were rumors of it closing even before that, but pre 2014 was the best version imo.
It was a great show that I enjoyed every year until it stopped. The best memory I have from it, was that one day they encountered some technical difficulties that blocked them from doing the show. Instead, they offered a huge photo session with the public. So I had the chance to have my photo taken with BG ans all the monsters from the show !
Lol I watched Beetlejuice twice in a row last night, such a fun and zany character, sad to see they thought Fast and Furious stuff was better for entertainment and crowd interaction. Either way, another fantastic video!
This editing has me ROLLIN'
great job!
With the new park possibly having a universal monsters area. I hope some version of the show comes back.
Hey there, I enjoy your guest appeared on Fastpass Facts.
Thank you!
@@ExpeditionThemePark link?
Every time I've heard about this show I thought it sounded so cheesy, but your video made it sound downright awesome. Now I wish I could see it
Go find it on here. It's not the same as actually BEING there, but it's still really good.
This honestly looks like a joy to watch. Way more so than the Fast and Furious one. Who thought it was good idea to turn down for the cheesy hot mess of a replacement?
I saw the 2006 version of the show and it was such a delight! The actor who played Betelgeuse was great at interacting with the crowd.
Omg I FORCED my parents to see this show at Universal! We never stop to see shows at the parks but this is one of my favorite movies so we had to.
I absolutely loved this show. I wish they would bring it back but with updated music and costumes. I can dream. 😔
Me too
Updated costumes, yes... But Frankie should still have purple on. It went so well with the green skin. And if ANYONE touches BJ's magenta undershirt, I'll BITE. HARD. I'd do ANYTHING to keep the tiny references to the animated series alive because it's my favorite cartoon.
@@CosplayCore omg how did I not know after all these years that his shirt was the same from the cartoon!? I feel foolish haha good eye.
This was my favorite part of Universal as a kid. I miss it so much!!!!
I remember a few years back I was planning a trip to Universal Orlando and this was what I was most excited for. Loved the music, the characters, the improv, all of it. When I found out they got rid of it, i couldn't have been more disappointed.
This video made me want to rewatch the one you did on Bill and Ted. Coincidentally it took me to your original version, which was your first post and it was the remastered version that made me sub in the first place. You’ve really improved since that first post! Keep up the great work!
First of all, it was awesome meeting you at Epcot in Mexico a few weeks ago. Totally made our night and oh how I wish I could have seen all the versions of The Beetle Juice Shows. :(
So I am guessing it's canon that Beetlejuice can beat every Universal Monster AND the Ghostbusters.
Sad to hear it stopped. I was quite the Beetlejuice fan back in 2008 when a local theme park featured its own show with the character for a few years. When I learned there was a bigger show in Orlando I watched all the YTvideos I could find of it, even learned to recognise certain actors. I never got to visit the States to watch it though. Shame.
I'd enjoy a horror game where you have to navigate through the fast and furious warehouse and escape from Party Bus and Tiny CGI Helicopters.
TURN DOWN FOR WHAT!
Beetlejuice did make a sort of comeback, as a Halloween Horror Nights house.
One of the earliest memories I have is when beetlejuice juice is asking us to say his name three times and 5 year old me says it before the last queue
I'm always so confused as to ow you only have 170k subs... you deserve so much more.
Would you like to see Beetlejuice return with a live show at the Universal parks?
Hell to the yes and that goes double for Orlando!
Just like they brought back the ghostbusters in a hunted house, Bettleguice should get his own house or become the spoke ghost host of the whole event
-12:41 Dracula got some nice cheekbones
Update: All ten Dracula’s have some nice cheekbones. And I want the bridge of Frankenstein’s corset costume.
I unfortunately hadn't been to a universal park until this summer, so I hadn't seen the Florida version of the show. Fortunately the park I visited was USJ, and the show is still going strong with the rock and roll revue, and if the crowd is any indication it's as popular as ever.
Universal's new ride in a nutshell:HAVE really good themeing in the queue and the ride is juat a simulator
I remember this. It was a great show.
This was great. Fun and thorough with just the right amount of snark.
(Not gonna lie, I partly watched it hoping to catch some clips of the extended VoicePlay / PattyCake gang, since so many of them were in the cast over the years, and I was not disappointed. 😀)
I used to LOVE this show as a kid and was trying to track when I would have seen it. I'm pretty sure I saw it before and after the addition of "Fantasia", but seem to recall Cleopatra doing Walk Like An Egyptian and Bride of Frankie singing I Will Survive...
It would be awesome if Beetlejuice had a show
I'd absolutely love to see a Beetlejuice show again. Considering how insanely popular the Broadway show is and the fact that there seems to be a boom of popularity for him, I sincerely hope Universal notices and at least thinks about it.
I've watched a lot of videos on Universal Studios and it's just dawned on me that they could make killing with a theme park purely dedicated to it's old attractions, with today's pop culture so ingrained in nostalgia this would be the perfect time to do this and this could save Universal money because instead of destroying old rides they could simply move them to another park.
I've always loved this show. It was always a highlight of my Universal Florida trip over the years. 100% AGREE ON HOW DISAPPOINTED THAT WE NOT ONLY LOST IT BUT FOR FRIGGING LAME-ASS F&F 'ride'. Thanks for the video and appreciating the show for what it was to everyone.
Thank you
They’ve eaten gods for breakfast. They’ve bagged Freddy. They’ve saved NYC more times than I can count. But I just realized they still never caught Beetlejuice.
That's because he's a 600+ year old demon with 4th wall smashing power. How do you beat that?
I love the "TURN DOWN FOR WHAT" clip so much LMAO
If they ever bring back this show, it should have songs from the Broadway musical.
I got to see the third version and loved it so much! I miss it so much. I've never ridden F&F, and I have no plans to. If I wanted to see F&F I'd go to Hollywood lmao
My hope is that they will revamp it at some point since the Broadway musical has become so popular
Your content gives me such a buzz - I found myself saying Beetlejuice with you to summon him!
This was my favorite thing in all of Universal, I watched it every time I went and I was devastated when I found out it was closing. I’m even more upset now knowing a trash ride was the reason it got destroyed.
Phantom of the Opera singing Great Balls of Fire reminds me of of Rockabilly-themed daughter of the Phantom of the Opera from Monster High. Glad multiple people had this same weird idea.
That mayor of Toronto line is so dated and it reminds me of that weird time where the rest of the world actually knew what we were going through up here. Now his brother is in charge of THE PROVINCE and it’s helllllllll
i love your passion for hating the fast and furious ride. i haven't rode it but i liked Disaster so im kind of mad they replaced it with something like that
Haha me too
Kalliblast set your expectations as low as they go and be ready to have the ride still disappoint
I loved Disaster, too. :( Beetlejuice was my favorite thing on that "street" but Disaster was a close second along with Twister. I loved watching the water come rushing down at us on Disaster, feeling the heat from the flames... I also loved the flying cow on Twister a lot... The set always creeped me out but I loved that cow... Probably because I just love animals, but still.
i am still not over that Beetlejuice is gone! This show was my childhood! They need to bring it back or have an hhn house about him.
15:29 I was about to watch Theme Park History's Rant video about F&F and thought of this 😂 pretty much sums up the ride.
Beetlejuice: Woah... Turn down for what tram... don’t you hate em? *I* Hate Em Myself!
Great video! Almost Defunctland level production values.
2:37 holy hell that was 1 ft from becoming a live leak video...geeez
As a kid, I hated when they made the transition from the wolfmans partial mask to full makeup.
... He had had a mask? I actually think the makeup they had on him before Mash Up was pretty cool stuff. :O I even have a pony on PonyTown dedicated to that version of him...
@@CosplayCore 6:21 though I'm pretty sure this was likely one of the first masks they made and used for the show, the later ones used looked and blended a lot better with the mouth and eye makeup the performer used.
I have a vague memory of this. My brothers loved it.
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!
...
Goddammit, no matter how many times we say it, he won't come back.
why isn't this the top comment?
@@CosplayCore Who knows, man.
They need to bring this back for Horror Nights
I've only ever seen the revue on CZcams, thanks to archival footage from loyal fans. I prefer the first iteration of the show best, but I think that the show through its 24 year run was a major success and fan favorite experience as a whole. It was cool to find out that Wayne Brady and Joey Fatone both performed in this show in Orlando's version. And of course, you can't go wrong with James Keaton (no relation to Michael Keaton, the original Beetlejuice).
I wish they would bring this back... I love Beetlejuice and this would be so awesome.
That intro tho 😂 🔥
I think it would be cool for Universal to bring it back for Halloween Horror Nights 30.
