what amazes me the most about this song (my all time favorite Placebo song) is that Brian doesn't stop singing once he starts; as if he forgets to breathe between each line!!
Omg I never noticed that; his voice track literally never ends!
I know it's a breathless poem or elegy without beginning or end, the circular chords emphasises it...One of my favourite bands, one of their best songs....
Thank you Dereck, I'm so happy you discover Placebo, it's my favorite band. Please listen another songs !
Placebo's sound is very strong. "Every You Every Me " is the first sountrack of Cruel Intention with Sarah Michelle Gella.
Brian Molko sings with Nicolas Sirkis there : Indochine - Pink Water 3 ( Audio ).
The band still in french radios today with new singles !
Definitely a band you should dive into, they have plenty of catchy rock alternative songs. I also like their covers. Their version of Daddy Cool is a kind of alternative disco that's worth listening to for a fun twist on this classic.
in Italy and Europe the placebo are very popular as alternative rock bands....their songs are played a lot on the radio
La voix la plus reconnaissable parmi 1000 au monde.
Amazing Band. I love Placebo's version of 'Running Up That Hill' :)
Oh so good...actually better than the original.
yes! I believe they had this cd with an extra cd that had all cover songs on them. I was 13. My big sister had that cd. Where's my mind (don't know if that's the actual song title) was another great one.
It was opening number of Cruel Intentions soundtrack. Not a great movie, but for sure an iconic soundtrack!!!
Underrated band (Brian Molko is a genius)... This song is a lil catchy gem, but they have a few other bangers and numerous others ones that are worth checking for you :)
Objectively, I think you should give a chance to "Taste In Men" and "Twenty Years", which are two other songs of them that are highly regarded ; the popular hit "Protect Me" (and its French version they also recorded and that's possibly as popular as the English version) must be mentioned...
"The Bitter End", "Slave To The Wage" are very catchy ; I personally think "Special K" is a blast in so many ways !
"Pure Morning" and "Peeping Tom" are very appreciated by purists ; and a last one I'll mention is "Haemoglobin" which is an intense and powerful one.
Placebo is a real underated band, "The Bitter End" or "Special K" are massive bangers. And check their Kate Bush cover "Running Up that Hill" so beautiful
i do agree. Placebo is like Audioslave, a very underrated band! I hope someone will adice him to listen "like a stone" from Audioslave. Dereck will cry (oh happyness) during the final guitar moment...
Placebo should be known as one of the big 90s and maybe moreso the 2000s bands. They were huuuge with the gloomy kids.
@@vgaportauthority9932 I agree with that. They definitely got plenty of love. Altogether with Muse they were huge in Europe.
nnooo there are not underated, they're perfecft rated. this is the lind of music (alt rock , almost punk) who is not very love anymore on mainstream...so sad..
They also have French language songs. Protege-moi is a good one.
Brian Molko, and the guitarist from Sweden knew each other at the same European school in Luxemburg City and after, they studied there.. Because Molko father, worked in the financial place in Luxemburg capital and brought his family from America.
Years later, Brian and the guitarist find them again in London and begin to form the group... Brian speak many langage, except English, French of course, German and even luxemburgish dialect.
Their entire Meds album is incredible. Dark and sad, but incredible musicianship.
My favorite Band growing up… they were huge in France! So them live several times… they are incredible live! And their discography is incredible! So many hits!
Bien sûr ! Ce que j'ai réalisé ensuite c'est que MTV Europe et US étaient très différents !
I'd argue every song is a hit, that's rare
Unfortunately they are not always great live. I don't talk about the quality but about the connection with the public. Sometimes is great sometimes let's a lot to he desired
Placebo is a fantastic band !
You should react to their duet with David Bowie on their song Without You I'm Nothing (maybe the most beautiful love song I know)....
Placebo ❤️
Omg this song so absolutely fabulous !
Loved that you did them. Meds, Nancy Boy and Pure Morning is my suggestions. Hugs from Sweden.
one of the best( group ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! try "pure morning" or "taste in men" and "follow the cops back home" amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ah, ça fait longtemps que j'avais pas flashé sur un truc:)
I know this song because of cruel intentions
I was surprised to hear this song in this movie.
For those who don't know, "something borrowed, something blue" is a wedding tradition, which makes it even better...
Drereck, a very good song of therm is also "slave to the wage"
Ooooh! You made me re-discover them!
At the time they were first in playlist😂
Thank you!
Placebo is my favorite band in the world, I love every single song they've made including b-sides, so glad people are reacting to them I hope this snowballs and more and more people react to them, they have soul and meaning, not a lot do! Loved your reaction, gotta check out Forever Chemicals, the Crawl, Infa-red and Blue American (my favorite song of all time)
Try "Pure Morning" super song !
Love this. Brian also provided vocals on Alpine Stars 'Carbon Kid' - not a mainstream act but you should check them out as you like electro beepy music.
The lyrics from this song where the first lyrics of a song in English I actually knew (I'm Dutch). I Started learning English in school when I was 12. I was 13 (1999) when my sister had the lyrics to this song as a screensaver on our pc. Seeing them endlessly pass by is how I memorized them. And suprisingly, I can still sing along with 80% of this song 😁
Placebo ❤forever and Queen too 😊merci
At last! Hoping tou would discover Placebo...huge in UK..more please!
This is such a banger.
Placebo 🤩.
excellent choice i love it so much this group placebo
More Placebo pleaseeeee
First song I ever heard by them 15 years ago still amazing
Those were the songs 😊
This album has a lot of gems. One of my favourites. Brian Molko is one of the coolest gays.
I love too many People, Running that Hill, fix yourself ❤️❤️❤️
Love them, have several albums. Anarchic, alternative, fab. Meds should be next or Nancy Boy or Infra Red.
Please go for more, you won't regret it, bitter end, special k or any other song, thanks for the choice.
Love this song
Looking back, I realize what an incredible group. You're not done with them yet Dereck! They have many, many songs that you will love. ;)
Placebo .... "Running Up That Hill" ( Henry Rollins Show )
I can actually say that this song got as intense live as in the video !
this song + cruel intentions (the movie) best combo
I am fan de placebo 🇲🇽
Brian Molko is wonderful! And I don´t think, they are underground. They are very popular in Europe and Russia and maybe in Asia
❤
🥰
Pure Morning is top notch what a polished honed sound.
Brian Molko is so cool
They have a great version of 'Running up that hill'
lucky you ... because there plenty more from that band ... way underrated with huge worldwide fan base

The FLIP skate video kind of made them so big

As a long time placebo fan- that was a super weird reaction. Do you actually live like that
Not their best
One of their best.
