- Badd Medicine here and its Love Actually reaction time
This was a star loaded film. At least in our eyes. One could look at it in a fun way that this could be a wild weird prequel to Harry Potter and The Walking Dead for Rick Grimes. Quite a few Harry Potter stars in this one. This was definitely a 2003 comedy. Overall, not bad. Lots of interesting stories that end up intertwining in some ways and a handful of awkward moments. And some good laughs.
Nine intertwined stories examine the complexities of the one emotion that connects us all: love. Among the characters explored are David (Hugh Grant), the handsome newly elected British prime minister who falls for a young junior staffer (Martine McCutcheon), Sarah (Laura Linney), a graphic designer whose devotion to her mentally ill brother complicates her love life, and Harry (Alan Rickman), a married man tempted by his attractive new secretary. Daniel (Liam Neeson), Karen's friend, and his stepson Sam (Thomas Sangster) fend for themselves as they mourn the loss of their wife and mother. Sam has fallen for American classmate Joanna (Olivia Olson), and, after discussion with his stepfather, decides to learn the drums so that he can accompany her in the big finale for their school's Christmas pageant (the same one that Natalie's nephew and Karen and Harry's children are in). After Sam feels that he missed his chance to make an impression on her, Daniel convinces Sam that he must go catch Joanna, who is returning to the US, at the airport that night and show her how he feels, lest he regret it for his whole life. Sam runs away from the airport security and says hi to Joanna, who then kisses him on the cheek. Meanwhile, Daniel, who famously lusts after supermodel Claudia Schiffer, meets the parent of another of Sam's school mates, Carol (Claudia Schiffer), who is a dead-ringer of Ms. Schiffer.

FINALLY saw this on Christmas Eve. Can see why it's a classic. I def don't like my Rick Grimes with a British accent, though. It's not right.
I enjoy parts of it, especially Bill Nighy and still watch it again from time to time, though not every year. Some of the stories were so unresolved...which I guess is real life, but keeps it from being a total "Christmas" movie for me. I want magic for everybody at Christmas.
I watch it every year during Christmas. Its one of my favorite movies.
I hope one day you watch and stream a reaction of the Arcane series on Netflix :,
Not sure if y’all noticed, but Karl, Sarah’s love interest, is Xerxes in the movie 300. Pretty mind-blowing compared to this character!
I took Keira and Andrew's little moment to be "that was very sweet thank you, here's just a little kiss for the road but..we both know that's it yeah?" then he says "enough" like it's closure for him and they can all move on.
The scene of Emma Thompson crying and listening to Joni Mitchell gets me every single time. That is what acting should be all of the time.
Emma did fantastic
The sad part is, that Emma Thompson actually was in a similar situation in real life a few years before that movie. So she used that experience for her performance.
Yeah she was married to Gilderoy Lockhart who cheated on her with Bellatrix Lestrange. Let that sink in! And now being cheated on by Snape!! Poor woman!
@@R989D Poor Trelawney
She was also married to Kenneth Branagh who cheated on her with Helena Bonham Carter
I don't know the references of the characters mentioned, haven't seen that film I'm thinking. If those characters mean who I just said, then never mind.
Also what I think is brilliant about this movie is it does not just show romantic love. In my opinion the movie shows that the sister loved her brother more than the man she loved at work. So that's her Love. Emma Thompson loved her children , to the point of staying in the marriage for them. And Liam Neeson learns how to build his own relationship and Love Sam. I could be wrong, but that's how I always see their stories.
You forgot unrequited love and lust. There are probably others I'm missing too.
Edit, just remembered lost love and friendship (manager and singer).
Excellent perspective. Andrew Lincoln had an unrequired love. Bill Nye recognized he had a deep love for his friend/manager. Young Sam had his 1st love. Love perspectives among all the stories.
Yes! It covers SO many different love stories, it makes it so unique and I just love it. The other comments brought up good story lines as well. And don't forget the cross-cultural love with Firth!
@lizetteolsen3218 the story with Sam isn't even primarily about young love. It is about a step-father and stepson getting to know each other and grow that relationship.
The actress that plays Natalie was getting bullied in the press over her weight, so the film leaned hard into those jokes to point out how ridiculous it was. Unfortunately, anyone who doesn't know that would just see those scenes as fat jokes that really didn't age well. Also, all praise be unto Alan and Emma! I never get tired of watching them together.
I love the Emma Thompson crying scene. The best acting performance i´ve ever seen. You can feel how her whole world falls apart and at the same time she pulls herself together, goes back to her family and acts like nothing has happend. Heartbreaking!
Felt that!
@BaddMedicine in reality Emma Thompson's husband at the time cheated on her, with Helena Bonham Carter and her crying was her reflecting on it(it made the scene even more powerful)
I love Bill Nighy in this 😂 but everybody is so on point with their acting
I think Oak and the Answer really missed out. I feel like you should watch it again with them. They would love all the tie ins with other movies especially Snape/Hans!
I didn't see Keira Knightley's kiss as angry or frustrated, I don't think she was into him at all, she has always seemed fully into her husband. It seemed more like, thanks for telling me, here's a kiss as I'm nice, we can call it all resolved.
Yes!!! You are finally the first reactors I've watched to get the Claudia Schiffer payoff at the end!! No one ever gets that joke!! 🤣
Oh really?
I understand that a little bit. The woman is now in her 50s and it's been a while since she was this popular. But maybe she blew David Copperfield out of people's minds😂
@@BaddMedicine Yes, I watch a ton of reaction channels and for years no one has ever said anything about the fact that he was with Claudia Schiffer at the end. The only thing I can think is that most of them are in their 20s and they just don't know who she is.
In the original script Rowan Atkinson’s role was described as an angel which is why in both his scenes he just appears with the purpose of protecting love, letting the kid see the american girl in the airport and hindering Rickman in buying the necklace.
Another fun fact, in the US broadcast, Martin Freeman’s entire plotline was edited out. Amazing movie
I worked in jewelry sales for about 7 years and 2 or 3 times a year we would get a call from a woman who had found a receipt but never received any jewelry. They wanted to confirm what the object was since the receipt didn't describe the item. I always felt so bad for them.
Ouch.
So sad!
That is so heartbreaking. This guy I started dating turned out to have a FIANCÉ that ended up writing back to me because she had no clue who I was. I had to tell her that her fiancé, who she LIVED with and shared a CAT with, had been on a few dates with me and I felt horrible. She stayed with him for a little while but they ended up splitting up and he then tried to reach out to me again as though we could just start back up... needless to say that did NOT happen 😂🤣😂
It is insane what people will do to people they supposedly love, or at least loved at SOME point, and have build a life with. I mean, I am not advocating for staying with someone at all cost, but like... at least have the decency to end it the right way BEFORE you move on to the next one you jerk!
Fun Fact: Kiera Knightly was only 5 years older than Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Sam) in real life.
There is a 15 min sequel called Love Actually Red Nose Day. It came out in 2017. It shows where alot of the stories are now. You guys might wanna check it out.
OH thats interesting. Thanks for that tidbit. We'll have to look that up.
@@BaddMedicine Please do a reaction to Red Nose Day Actually! It's a fantastic reunion, and you will love where the characters end up.
The problem is where can we find it, I tried and couldn't find it
Fun fact: The Hugh Grant scene where he dances was a one and done take. Apparently he resolutely refused to dance on camera, and was persuaded for the scene but said he would only do it once. - turned out to be one of the best scenes in the film haha
Hahaha that's awesome
I heard he had to drink in order to do the dancing scenes in Music and Lyrics😂😂
@@kjlucky6501 yeah I think you’re right. I’m pretty sure it was music and lyrics which made him hate being filmed dancing on camera to much 🤣
Lol, dude knows he owes his career (start) solely due to Richard Curtis, so if Curtis says "dance", lol, you dance, and we are all the better for it. Even Curtis mentions in the commentary track how much he loves Hugh's shoulder arc at the end of his dance. So subtle but so good.
@@chefskiss6179 and that doesn’t take away from the fact
The crazy thing is, Alan got Emma a genuinely thoughtful and personal gift, while he got the secretary just "something pretty" that he picked in a hurry, which says a lot about how he feels about said relationships. Doesn't take away from the pain of betrayal, though. Emma crying alone in her room was just one of the most heartbreaking scenes :(
But it was what the assistant wanted, and it was expensive enough. And not necessarily thoughtful, she’s just declared her love for Joni Mitchell and he got her a Joni Mitchell cd, it could be as you said, I’ve never considered that, but I always thought of it as just an easy or possibly even lazy option - He could have gotten them both for his wife, sometimes she might want something pretty too 🤷♀️
Completely agree though, that scene was brilliantly done 😊
I don't know if you agree or not but the way I see is that he's fallen out of love with his wife, is no longer sexually attracted to her but still loves her in a nonromantic way. She told him she loved Joni Mitchell and he cared enough to remember that when picking a gift. The wife makes a joke that he always gives her a scarf every christmas because he doesn't want to put in the effort to think of something else. He wants to bang his secretary (the secretary pursues him knowing he is married, her moral compass is obviously defective. I also got the impression she doesn't love him either), but doesn't seem in love with her. The necklace was a sign that their relationship would be taken to the next level (physical).
The end of the movie is a bit confusing because we don't really know if him and his wife are still together. I looked for an answer and the original script says they are still together but their home life just isn't as good as it once was.
Not that it's money that counts, but he spent almost three hundred pounds on the present for the secretary while in the middle of a flirtation with her (and maybe more, we don't really know).
Just two bros watching Love Actually. The way it was meant to be seen. 🤠✊💪🏋♂🍺🏈💖
😂😂😂😂
I really appreciate you highlighting the realism in sarah's (laura linney) storyline. this film has a lot of everything, the lowest gut-punching (liam, emma, laura) and the most ridiculous highs (martin, hugh, rowan) and the cast is stellar, the pacing is great too, never rushed. ✨✨happy new year!✨✨ (oh I would love for oak and answer to react to it too, oak would have so much to say about the stories and we would love to hear it, just sayin')
I love this idea!!! I would love to hear what the 2 of them would have to say.
I totally agree. Oak would love this movie.
You didn't include the wisconsin trip guy in the ridiculous highs? Lol.
Not sure if I've seen someone bring it up yet, but Bill Nighy also played Davy Jones in Pirates! Shaun's step-dad in Shaun of the Dead! Very big name here in the UK
He was also briefly in Harry Potter.... beginning of Half-Blood Prince and the Dealthy Hallows Pt. 1 as well .......he played the newly appointed Minister of Magic 👍🏻
This film has a lot of stars in it.
@@BaddMedicine Oh and the woman who Huge Grant gets with, Martine McCutcheon; she was a big character in a British soap opera. Kirs Marhsall who plays the guy who goes to Wisconsin played a similar character in a British comedy show called My Family. He was my favourite character in that. :D
He also plays Viktor in Underworld 👍
The story that breaks my heart is the lady caring for her brother. I understand as I was a carer for my dad, and this resonated so much with me. Dad passed away 2 years ago, and I am slowly trying to get my life sorted and put my partner and myself first. Love this film. X
Sorry for your loss 🙏
@@BaddMedicine - thanks. Just listening to your recap at the end about the sarah/Karl story- what you said is so true. X
I absolutley loved how you both were so animated when each famous face appeared both in the titles and during the film. The young ladies from Wisconsin are not as well know here so wonderful you knew them. LOVED that you got the Claudia Schiffer joke as so many dont. Loved your Harry Potter series. If the other two would have loved it maybe you should do it again with those two and be very interesting to see what they think especially The Oak
The quiet snickering of grown ass men always gets me 😂 I could be watching the funniest thing in the world, but the second one of these guys goes into a quiet snicker attack, it’s immediately 10x funnier 😂😂
😁🤙
fantastic to see you guys take this movie at face value and just enjoy!.
i love this movie & even as a Brit it is very strange to see Rick Grimes so clean & quintessentially English!
hahaha Very strange
I LOVE this movie. I know some people really dislike it but I think it's so wholesome. Liam Neeson's storyline is probably my favourite. Makes me cry every time when Sam gets back from chasing Joanna and they hug 😭😭😭
I don't know, 1st Twilight now with Love Actually, your reactions are really drawing me in. I laughed and smiled throughout this whole reaction. And had happy tears during the airport scene. You guys are really dialed in to all romance and British humor. Great reaction to an incredible movie! Thank You! Can't wait for the next flick. Happy New Year!
Thank you and happy new year
Knowing that Emma Thompson (Treylawny) probably channeled the emotions from her real life heartbreak from when she was married to Kenneth Branagh (Lockheart) and he cheated on her with Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix)🥴 I haven't been able to watch HP the same with that knowledge!
Awe. Emma Thompson deserves better. She's amazing. Side note: Branagh and Bonham-Carter are a weird match up to me.
@@ct6852 me too
@@ct6852they started as love interests in his Frankenstein adaptation
@@ct6852 well that relationship didn't last either. She was with Tim Burton for 13 years and currently is in a relationship with Rye Holmboe who is 21 years younger than her. Branagh has been married for 19 years now...Thompson for 20 (27 together).
The fact that Keira Knightley was 18 when this came out and Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Newt) was 13 is crazy
that is crazy.
FYI The airport scenes are real people. Loved your reactions fellas, too bad the oak and answer missed out. This movie is about all types of love.
I still watch this movie every December along with “Home Alone”, “Die Hard”, “Harry Potter”, and quite a few others. Nice reaction, guys.
Best part about this movie was Jamie and Aurelia's plot. They had the best love story, for me.
Great reaction gentlemen! You should check out Sense and Sensibility...Emma Thompson, Hugh Grant, Alan Rickman and Kate Winslet...fantastic movie!
i second this!
Yes! My fav Jane Austen movie. Emma Thompson's script is a masterpiece.
Yes!
Love Actually is one of my all time favorite movies and I've seen it more times than I can remember. But watching you watch it for the first time was sooo fun and your reactions brought all of the million amazing moments back to life for me once again!
Thank you and thanks for spending some of your time with us.
You miss Rufus Scrimgoeur. The Minister of Magic. Bill Nighy.
As a Brit, I got to say, the first rule with British Comedies, they have to have a lot of tragedy in them. It's just how we like it.
Also this is one of those films you watch way before you should in the UK. I struggle to remember when I first watched it but I was definitely young, as all the actors I knew from other things: Alan Rickman & Emma Thompson from Harry Potter, Keira Knightley & Bill Nighy from Pirates of the Carribean, Thomas Brodie-Sangster from Nanny McPhee etc.
Oh man what a joyful reaction to this movie! I loved it!! Great job!
Definitely an all star cast. That scene with Emma crying in the bedroom just kills me each time. You really feel her pain. Just so you know, the little girl that played Joanna crushed it. They were blown away when she auditioned for the role because she has a wonderful voice. I'm on Team "When she pointed at Sam at the end of the song, that was her way of telling him that she liked him". She had to do the other pointing to the audience so that no one could learn about her secret crush. Little girls do that. 🤣
This is my number 1 Xmas movie go to, I love love love this. Its so well done, love all the famous faces. You guys will love it
I adore this movie and watch it every Christmas. I really enjoy how you guys break down and discuss plots. Keep up the good work!
I absolutely love that you recognised young Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Newt) 😂😂
Twilight and now Love Actually? Loving the variety!!
Bill Nighy (The old Rocker) played Rufus Scrimgeour (The second Minister for Magic) in Harry Potter. There are so many actors in this film that are all through the Potter series.
Rodrigo Santoro (Karl) was not in Taken, but he was Xerxes in 300. Great reaction and love seeing Diamond Dave in a video, it’s been a bit. So glad I was able to see the #DiamondDaveCut before the New Year!
Looking forward to a great 2023 with y’all!
I guess I had the X rated one up for a bit lol
He was also in Lost and Charlie's Angels full throttle
Oak and Answer deffo missed out on this one! 😂
Many forms of love.
The fatherly love of Liam Nielson and the Musician love for his only true loyal friend gets me every time.
O also think the love for a friend being more important that everything else. He never ever made a move on her.
Oh man, Oak and Answer are gonna be pissed! 😂 This is one of my all-time favorite movies, seen it numerous times, and I still teared up towards the end. Glad you guys enjoyed this classic.
I enjoyed this reaction so much because you guys looked like you genuinely enjoyed this movie :) This is definitely a classic and the British humor is just great. I like how the different and ordinary lives of these imperfect yet endearing people are portrayed. The pacing is great and the actors are just so talented in portraying their quite eccentric roles here. Great job guys!
13:19 those hosts are Ant and Dec! You should check out some of their stuff, you can't find better presenters or hosts than them! Also react again with Oak! I know we'd all love to see him watch it too, can't have too many love actually reactions videos 😄
The Oak would have loved this 😂
@@dianedavid3052 I can picture his reaction to certain things! I hope they do a vid of him watching this with the answer too, so its just one (or if diamond is there then 2) who knows what happens
I'm early!! I watched love actually for the first time last week but I'm 14 so my parents covered my eyes for some parts 😂. Also I recomend watching Nanny McPhee if you haven't seen it already.
You’re comment made me realize this could be a “prequel” to Nanny McPhee, with Colin Firth, Thomas Sangster and Emma Thompson hahaha
"Guys is this rated R?"
**1 minute into the movie Bill Nighy mouths off something fierce** 🤣🤣
Yep!
So glad you've reacted to this film. Its one of my all time faves. I think as a country we just can't forgive Alan Rickman for hurting Emma Thompson, especially the scene where she's listening to Joni Mitchell 😥❤️
Emma Thomson was very good friends with Alan Rickman in real life, before his death. She was instrumental in Rickman being cast in Sense & Sensibility, for which she wrote the screenplay that won the Oscar that year. Rickman had always wanted to play a romantic leading man (Hollywood always cast him as a villain after Die Hard) and he got his wish. 🙂
Thanks for the laughs!! Loved the reaction! "Let's go get the shit kicked out of us by love "is probably my favorite line in any movie.
One of my favorite movies. This was the first time I’d ever seen Andrew Lincoln and was smitten(can’t lie)so when I saw him as being cast as the lead on TWD I was so excited. Never could have imagined him as Rick back then. The entire cast is stellar- my personal fave though is Bill Nighy…😂
In my top Christmas movies. I can watch it over and over for the performances alone!
Bill was fantastic 😂
What a delight of an upload to wake to 🥰 this is one of my holiday staples and no matter how many times I watch this I am always in awe at how seamlessly the stories are interwoven. It really makes you think about love and what love actually is (and what it is not).
Always nice to see Diamond Dave (and the beanie I affectionately call highlighter chic 😂) emerge from behind the techie side of things too.
Had a blast with this reaction. Hope you both (and the other gents) had/are having an amazing holiday season ❤
Hahaha great stuff here. Cheers to the new year and glad you enjoyed
When Andrew Lincoln left The Walking Dead, him and Jeffery Dean Morgan (Negan) did an interview and Jeffery surprised Andrew with his own cards. It was so thoughtful, funny, and heartfelt! You should check it out!
44:21 Rowan's character was originally like an Angel who intersected with every character, but it got too complicated. There were also other storylines that got cut, some were even filmed.
I'm so happy you did this movie, I love it so much! Your reaction was great!
Thank you and thanks for watching 🤙
So the writer had the scene in Wisconsin written to be kind of a fever dream on purpose. They got to set, and the American actresses said that they could do better. They amped up their lines to make them into what was actually shot.
I'm so happy that you're enjoying the movie, and I'm enjoying your reaction and laughter! I feel like you need to watch more British movies in the future.
My big flaw with the film was all the fat shaming.
The wreck of the necklace was that if not for that, the Joni Mitchell album would have meant the world to her as it showed he listened to her. The song playing is important as well. Joni wrote "Both Sodes Now" near the beginning of her career, which was inspired by her first plane flight. "I've looked at clouds from both sides now" (below and above). She re-recorded it fir her final studio album, which was the gift. The lines. "I've looked at life/love from both sides now" has extra resonance in the scene and in the remake of the song.
oh yes ! I love this movie :) My Favourite christmas move
I can’t tell you how much JOY your reaction brought me. I can’t thank you enough. Have a Happy New year guys!! 🎉
Thank you and thanks for watching. Cheers to the new year.
the movie is somewhat problematic, but it has been one of my favorite movies since i watched it 20 years ago. i usually watch it every christmas. the dumb jokes make me laugh every time, and emma thompson crying in her room because of the joni mitchell cd makes me cry every time. my favorite line is one you cut out of the edit - emma thompson saying "there was more than one lobster present at the birth of jesus?" 😂😂😂
I reallyyyyy enjoyed this reaction. This movie is funny, heartwarming, real and sometimes goofy. Seeing you guys react to all the stories shown was a treat. Pretty sure I'll be rewatching this video 😀 Happy new year guys 🎆
This is a lovely movie. Everyone was brilliant in it. Emma Thomason’s performance was heartbreaking - feel her pain. You guys are fun to watch. Love it!
I think the whole joke of the Milwaukee scene is that everyone who's actually from the Midwest knows that's the opposite of how it really is! 😄
i cant believe you watched this without the other guys! i bet they feel like they missed out. i forgot how funny this is. its a great cast. i havent watched it in years, a lot of it hasnt aged well, especially the story line with natalie. this is the movie where alan rickman plays a true villian. after all his villian roles this is the one that makes people hate him. emma thompson said she used her own experience of her first husband cheating on her to do the crying scene, which she had to do over and over. a lot of the story lines in this arent fun sweet romances. which is realistic. so i think i forget how funny it is because i remember the situations and they are more serious.
Have to say, i've always seen it as Alan Rickman's character was flirting with the infidelity but hadn't gone any further than the necklace, hense the "classic fool", not a "unmitigated arsehole" and that's the reason emma was able to stay in the "relationship" for the kids, even though they were both now unhappy and untrusting.
im so glad you guys gave this movie a chance, its such a good movie. for everyone.
This was fun watching with you guys! I'd totally be up for watching the other guys react to this, too. As a Wisconsin girl, the one thing I wish was that they actually used images of Mitchell Airport instead of making up the front image. I do love when movies go to Wisconsin, even though it's usually meant as a joke. I do appreciate the "realism" of 4 girls sharing an apt in Milwaukee, unable to afford most things, but they have a beer budget. That actually sounds like Wisconsin girls. 😆
The guy who is taken out in Taken isn't Karl. The person playing Karl was Xerxes in 300.
The fact that Alan and Emma were really good friends in real life brings even more emotions to this movie! I love them both so much! 2 of my all time favorite actors! So talented! ❤️❤️❤️ And Hugh Grant is so funny as always! 😅🤣❤️🙌🏻 And I love Andrew Lincoln and Liam Neeson! ❤️ What a cast! The scene with Rowan & Alan 🤣, the one where Emma is crying 😔😭 and when Hugh is dancing 😅 are my 3 favorite scenes of the movie! ❤️🔥🙌🏻
I watched this for the first time on Christmas eve usually these type of movies aren't my thing but I actually really loved this film.
I just saw it on xmas eve too! Way late to the game.
Ahh well better late than never
watched it yesterday for the first time at the movie theatre actually and I must say it's a very touching story and actually a very well made movie. Shows so many different kinds of love and not only sexual/ romantic love. The way all these stories came together in the end as well was just perfect❤
I don’t know why I just realized while watching this that Harriet is Nadia from American Pie 😂😂
Thanks for watching this film. It is one of my absolutely favourite films ever. I watch it every year around christmas.
I really recommend you to watch Bridget Jones‘s Diary in case you haven‘t yet seen it. Hugh Grant and Colin Firth are in it as well. It‘s great
Another Last Man on Earth fan, checking in! : )
Love Actually is truly a land of contrasts, from the typical romantic comedies of Natalie/David and Jamie/Aurelia to Karen's heartwrenching storyline to the absolute cartoon that is Colin's trip to America. Glad you enjoyed it!
This is one of my favourite movies. Not just of Christmas movies, but all movies. It might not be a masterpiece, but I still love it. It would have been nice to see all four of you reacting to it, but this was fun anyway. I'm so glad you didn't overly analyze and moralize it - that is unfortunately frustratingly common nowadays. People aren't perfect and flawless in real life, why should they be like that in movies? We all make mistakes. And maybe some scenes and storylines were quite unreal, but that makes the movie fun. 😄 Btw, I see the scene / storyline with Juliet (Knightley) and Mark (Lincoln) exactly the same way as you did. Mark tried to hide his feelings and overcome them, but since he was busted, he decided to come clean and after that move on. He didn't mean to steal his friend's wife. And what Juliet did... Maybe she was relieved that his husband's best friend didn't hate him as she thought and the kiss was just something nice she wanted to do, but that was it. It shouldn't be overanalyzed or judged as a villain thing to do.
I love this film and I'm not really a big fan of rom coms, but this one is just great with all the different stories and all the actors were perfect. One of my favorite scenes was when Bill Nighy declared his love to his manager. Another rom com I can recommend is Man Up with Simon Pegg, that one is hilarious.
They made a very short sequel to this called Red Nose Day Actually for charity. Its only about 15 minutes long. You should check it out.
What a great reaction. I loved when you guys said the other two are goi g to be mad they did t watch. I knew it the minute I saw that it was only two of you. FYI fun fact- the prime minister Natalie relationship and Billy Bob p,aging the president was supposed to be a Bill Clinton type character and at the end when she jumps into Hugh grants arms she is dressed like Monica Lewinsky in the red coat and white beret. So glad you guys watched and enjoyed.
Guys, this was so good!! Loved your reactions. Gotta love some Andrew Lincoln. Incredible cast 👏 ❤️
🔥🔥🔥
Not sure if you caught it or not as you never mentioned it, but Emma Thompson was also Professor Trelawney (Divination Teacher) in Harry Potter. So you had Snape married to Trelawney!
Really enjoyed both of your reactions. I love this film too and watch it every xmas.
The screenwriter here is Richard Curtis and that explains why this story is so good. He’s a BAFTA award winning writer and is responsible for Mr Bean and Blackadder as well as a bunch of great romantic comedies.
I've watched this movie so many many times and I still love it. My favourite love development is Liam Neeson and Sam. Bill Nighy has the best character, Emma Thompson is the best actor and Martin Freeman has the funniest storyline.
I really wish Oak had watched this with you, I think he'd have loved it too.
Tell ya what lads if you've not seen it..a highly underrated series is Fargo. First series has both Martin Freeman and Billy Bob Thornton as main characters. The cast and story changes up each season but every one is brilliant. Season 2 has Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons from Breaking Bad, season 3 has Ewan McGregor (as twins) and David Thewlis (professor Lupin) as a...just..vile repulsive human being. Season 4 is the latest one and has Chris Rock being genuinely intimidating and scary...Ben Whishaw, Jessie Buckley. I think Key and Peele show up in the first season! (I'm British so I was less familiar with them until I saw the show). It's all very violent and has dark humour but it's SO good. Season 1 is my favourite but only just and that's mainly down to Billy and Martin and the music.
Edit: ooh Dave mentioned Fargo but he may just mean the movie. And yes a lot of them have that wonderful accent in the show. Freeman included.
I love this movie. It is in my top five favorites. I love when guys give it a chance and are so surprised that this is not just a chic flic. I enjoyed watching your reaction so much that I subscribed. Just to give my point of view as a female of the Juliet, Peter and Mark thing. I don’t think Keira’s character was in to Mark at all. I think she was very much in love with her husband but was super disappointed that Mark, Peter’s best friend, did not like her. When she found out that he actually liked her too much she probably felt so hopeless that the relationship between the three of them was doomed that when he came to her and confronted it I think she was just so gratefull to him for having the courage to face it head on and that kiss was her gratitude to him for giving them all a chance to be friends.
It's been a long time since I watched this. So fun to see your reaction. Happy Holidays to the crew at Badd Medicine.
Happy holidays
Happy New Year 🎆 great reaction as usual. Just to let you know they had a follow up to this movie on it's 10th anniversary and gave you an update on everyone it was a short film but gave you a look at everyone's future 🥰
Love you guys. great reaction!
This is such a great movie! I watch it every year, same as with "It's a wonderful Life".
Was a pleasure watching this with u , never seen it before but always wanted too
This has nothing to do with the movie but I thought you could also start watching anime, starting by the miyazaki's movies by ghibli (spirited away, howl's moving castle, mononoke) they are classics and with a lot of depth and they are also very poetic. It could introduce you to anime and animated movies if some haven't watched any. I advise starting by spirited away but be careful with how you edit the video because ghibli is tough with copyright. Happy new year to everyone 💜
Since you love Martin Freeman, have you watched Sherlock? If not, that would be a great series to react to.
Thank you!! Such a fun reaction and top 5 holiday movie for sure!
Every Christmas, this movie is shown in the Usher Hall* in Edinburgh (that's Scotland btw [just in case there's an Edinburgh somewhere else😏]) with a live orchestra playing the music and it's always sold out. Very popular (and rightly so - lovely movie).😀
*a big concert hall
Highly recommend Silver Linings Playbook with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence
Yes!! This is my favorite Christmas movie! I'm only like 2 minutes in, but the "This is rated R? Oh I bet there's some swearing and that's why" comment has me dying! 😂 I can already tell this is gonna be good.
The wedding scene where everybody stands up and plays instruments. That was inspired by the funeral of Jim Henson when the puppeteers of Sesame Street brought their prospective characters like Oscar the Grouch, Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, etc.
