I loved the Ford Granadas. That's what i love so much about this channel is that they seem to rescue cars that are not the typical ones to save. I hate seeing older cars like this go to waste rotting away for no good reason. Awesome video.

My aunt had a 1978 Granada that she bought new. She drove that car forever, seems like. She finally sold it in the late 90s. Had the same hubcaps as this one. They were nice cars in their day. As a matter of fact, Ford made comparisons between the Granada and Mercedes sedans of the era and claimed it was their competition. Another fact: The Granada was the last car green lighted for production by Lee Iooccaa before he was fired from Ford to become head of Chrysler. Amazing this car runs!!! Congratulations!!! 🙂🙂👍 Thanks for sharing!

I had a '75 Granada with in-line 6 and it had to have a new starter at 18K miles. Then various electrical problems began to surface. The larger plug on top of the ignition switch on the steering column had multiple wires crimped over insulation in the mating plug. Several wires had gotten hot and almost started a fire. The car had carburetor issues that the dealer did not solve and I got rid of the car at about 25K miles and never looked back. These cars were known for lots of intermittent problems, especially with electrical circuitry.

More than likely the person that owned that had another car at that time and just plain old forgot about that one. I mean......that one tire looks like it's been flat as long as that cars been sitting there. Ya never know. That's really similar to how I found my 75 Plymouth Fury. Couldn't find a dang thing wrong with it except it didn't run. Sat 21 years.......new battery, fresh fuel......started right up. Have absolutely no clue why she was parked that long. Just forgotten. Now she's my every day driver. And last time I've seen a car run without a carburetor was in my dream and it was attacking me like in the movie Christine 😄

Fun fact about Granadas and their Mercury cousins. These platforms were the Genesis of what would become the Fox body. Yes, as in the likes of Mustang 5.0's, Mercury Bobcats, too (which lived as a Pinto/Pony once upon a time). This would also influence the "pre 5.0/LX" era, years earlier, Fairmonts, Futuras, and what few LTD's left to assemble. Quite an unusual genealogy, of course.

Hi from Scotland,…. We’ll another lost cause is saved from the great junk yard in the sky.
You ( & Christina ) worked hard for that one, so give yourselves a round of applause.
Reading some of the other comments, a lot of folks are encouraging you to drag it out, but with your upcoming road trip it might be prudent to wait and see what else comes along, that may be easier to get home.
I notice you didn’t cut away the undergrowth? It would have made it easier for you to move about, and given a good view of the complete car..
Anyway, another great video, with an interesting vehicle. Well done old boy…& looking forward to the next one.
    Adios….

My mother had a 76 with a 6 cyl engine 250 cid. it was a half decent car for the money she paid, ($4,500 new) drove it 8 years. Sure was not a quick car, no real passing power, but you could get it up to 85 mph if you kept it floored for a few minutes! She was with me once when I had it going 85 and she said, i didn't think this car could go that fast!
