  • Hello Everyone, this clone your clothes video is super beginner friendly. I show you how to use your clothes to make more clothes. In this video, I take a dress with little stretch and I make a copy of it. When creating patterns, you are able to modify details and the fit to be perfect to your needs. I go more in-depth in the video.
    Let me know if you guys have any questions :)

    Cheap wrapping paper works well for making patterns because of how long it is. A lot of them even have a grid on the un-printed side

      Old newspaper, too. Just use pen or marker to trace the pencil markings so you can se it better.

    Great Video….not roasting you for the sheet….I had said that I would do the exactly same thing and you shortly advised the same. My fabric will be expensive so I will definitely create patterns with old sheets!! Great idea. Excellent finished product.

    Im very beginner to sewing so not sure how to word this, but is there any way to make a pattern(clone) a dress that had multiple seams without taking it apart? Like the bust is a separate part, the shoulders are as well.. all sewn together or does this really only work for the simpler garments? I would like to clone a dress without taking it apart but not sure how

    Wouldn’t it be easier to trace directly on the fabric and outline with chalk?
    Newbie here. What is the benefit to tracing it out on paper first?

    • @kittyca2t06
      @kittyca2t06 Před rokem +3

      I’m a newbie too but my take on tracing on the paper, makes it easier to make multiple items vs. just the one item. For example if you wanted to make the same dress on multiple fabric types, you could use the pattern on the paper over and over.
