- The Cosmo is much maligned but made well it is zingy and fresh, and you can drink far too many of them. Plus, who doesn't love a pink drink and a flamed orange zest?!
45ml (1 1/2 oz) vodka
20ml (2/3 oz) orange liqueur
20ml (2/3oz) fresh lime juice
10 - 15ml (1/3 - 1/2 oz) cranberry juice
1 dash orange bitters (optional)
If you like it a little sweeter, add 5 - 10ml (1/6 to 1/3 oz) sugar syrup

Loved this one and yeah, that glass is enormous! Looking forward to more from the new digs!
It’s pure joy just to watch your videos. Well done to you for bringing back this classic cocktail with your own twist to it 👏👏👏
Your knowledge and experience provide not only an education, but delightful entertainment as well. Thank you!
Love watching this woman cook! Let her cook🔥🍸
When I was in bartending school (20 years ago,) THIS was the most important drink to learn. The most popular drink in the U.S. at the time, and we learned the worse version.
C.C.C.S. Citron, Cointreau, cranberry, and sour mix.
There was a time and a place! Tbf Cointreau makes a great version though so I’m sure your specs aren’t too far off if you just ditch the sour mix 😊
10 out of 10 as always Cara
A fantastic classic indeed! :)
Lovely drink and lovely video :)
Ah, the Cosmo!
Honestly, I think it’s as you said, a stigma thing surrounding a show and a color and cheap ingredients that turns most people and bartenders away from this drink. And as is usually the case with stigmas, unadulterated ignorance is not far behind! Because I have had Cosmopolitans made exactly like yours (albeit with a touch more cranberry and no orange bitters) with fresh, high quality ingredients that were delicious and, in my view, right on the pedestal with any other finely made cocktail one could think of. I think of this from a food perspective as I consider myself to be a bit of an amateur chef at home (I try my best😂) and a food critic as well. It all comes down to ingredients and then, provided your recipe is not completely foolish, it’s guaranteed to be great if the ingredients are great.
💯
I think it's still my sister's go to drink! Maybe I'll try one so I can make it for her on her next visit...
That would be a lovely sister moment!
Aaah, the good ol' days. Thanks for this walk down memory lane-- but way to fit it into today's flavor sensibilities!
Request: as Chartreuse is getting harder and harder to find, could you show us some variations on typically chartreuse-centered cocktails?
Request noted!
Love seeing old school drinks that "serious bartenders" turn their nose up at, get adapted instead of ignored 😁
Feel you on that fake citrus note too, so easy to focus in on it, like coriander 😅
That’s totally how I feel about it, I blame judging the limoncello category at the Australian distilled spirits awards haha, I could always taste it but now I can’t stand it!
@@BehindtheBar Just name drop that spirit awards #HumbleBrag🤣 But 100% 🤣
Definitely have to make this at home because I would never ever, ever order one in public.
🤣 nah you do you!
This may not be a classic but this is a nice cocktail. I make it every now and then and enjoy it!
I mean it has been around for a while now, we’re getting old haha!
It’s better with gin , and fresh lemon or lime juice
