We checked out many of the other places to visit on the island. They have more things to check out and in our short visit we didn't even do them all. See another grocery store and coffee shop on the island.
    About this video:
We went around the island and found some of the other places you can visit. We went by the other shop that is found the Freeport part of the island. This is the "General Store" and open from 9-5 each day. This had more of the souvenir items and also some other grocery items. It was a much smaller selection of grocery items but they were there if you needed them in a pinch.
We did miss out on the farmer's market that happens on Saturdays. I would think that would be where you could get some fresh vegetables and fruits in each season if you were needing food while on the island.
Also to mention, Thursday nights are Taco Nights at D'Fuskie's and seem to be really popular if you're looking for another place to eat while on the island.
We also stopped by the School Grounds Coffee Shop and the DauFuskie Blues. They use a plant grown on the island to make dye for tie-dying. There is also a soap shop in the same area as the coffee shop and the DauFuskie blues. It seemed to have more limited hours.
We also found out as we were leaving that there is a Scavenger Hunt that you can do on the island. Here is some information about it here: tourdaufuskie....

We docked at Melrose landing. Here is some information about getting off at this landing on the island: melrosepoa.com...
Here is a resource if you're looking to visit the island: tourdaufuskie....
This isn't completely up-to-date since it doesn't have the closed restaurants on it, but it's a good start for learning about visiting the island.
Make sure if you're staying that you book your transit from the marina to your house: www.daufuskiet...
And I highly recommend renting a battery powered golf cart:

Curious how many days you’d recommend for a stay on the island. We are considering a trip in October with a 9 & 12 year old.

I think our 5 days was sufficient. We didn’t get to do EVERYTHING but we did enough that we were busy.
