Came back to watch this video again after receiving mine in the mail. Thought maybe they did the strap buckles wrong. But, looks like one buckle supposed to be on the inside other buckles on the outside. Also mine had the flashlight packaged with the light inside of the plastic bag in the belt clip on the outside of the plastic bag clipped into the cardboard box insert. That was a little odd. really nice set up. Took me a minute to figure out. You really gotta make sure the pocket clip when it’s in the headlamp holder. It’s in properly or will slide right out. When tightly secured in the headlamp holder, the pocket clip actually helps keep it from sliding out from the side. Little monkey round a bit with the head strap to figure out the best way that feels most comfortable and fits well.
Thanks for doing such a great review. Was really clear video easy to see how items should be looking out of the box. Even though mine was packaged a little differently in the box I got all parts. Seems the charger is similar and does work same as my other baton 3 Pro charger.
Heck yeah I love my perun 2,have had it for a year now an been on 4 camping trips now,I really want the mini 2 an love how you don't need that patch to attach it to headband,an also I love the red light they've added to it an an a light battery level indicator, man,I believe maybe they could do a perun 2 like this or call it a Perun 3

A lot of nice improvements over the Perun Mini and the older H1R. I like the battery level indicator. Thanks for the detailed explaination of it, with the percentages and difference between red and flashing red.
i prefer the original. i use mine for photography and work. the new one is a step back imo (except for the red light which is fiddly to access)
A great flashlight! I've had an Olight H1R as a daily pocket light and it's been great, flawless performance. Flashlight that got me into carrying a flashlight. I almost never use the headband but as an EDC light it is stellar. Although I disagree with pocket clips on a light this small; this just rides in the bottom of the pocket.

I've been wanting a Perun mini but I'm not a fan of the headband. That big velcro patch thing is kind wonky looking. But this updates light and headband is pretty awesome. Thanks for the review!

How come some of the rechargeable energizer head lamps for much much cheaper like 20-25 dollars can produce 400 lumens for up to 4 hours?
I’m not knocking this light in any manner I’m just genuinely curious as I did buy one and wondering why it cost so much more for less lumens and battery life. Thanks
That looks like a very functional light.
The band is a nice improvement. I would have to compare it to the Fenix hm50r that I already have. I think they should make a headlamp with the form factor of the baton 3 pro. The baton 3 pro is small and compact but you get better runtimes. It’s nice to have at least 3 hours with a 400-600 output. I would like to buy the peron 2 for work but I prefer the new strap.
i prefer the original once you trim it down. swivels much easier and alot easier to remove
It would be nice if they would have made the battery orientation the same as a Baton 3, or S1R Baton 2. Then you could swap out flashlight heads. 🔦

I think the mc12 headband is a good opion too. But i couldn't say about quality of the olight band to TF🤷

Thanks for showing that the charging cable is USB A. Good to know. I'd much rather it be USB-C. You can buy it separately. IMO it should come with USB-C and than if someone needs a legacy USB-A they can buy that separately.

The perun 1 mini headstrap was cursed and a downgrade from the H1R. I never bought it for that reason, the velcro hook against your head would be irritating af.
The Perun 2 Mini looks great.
