Finally the gun i paid for. Thanks again for doing this video and leaving it up to help guys like me. My Gauntlet is pushing 18s close to a grand and my regs at 1350 psi. With a little help of some Halfhill Engineering of course. No after market parts at all. That little reg held it all back because it was only putting out 800 psi. Thanks so much for this long awaited performance.Shooting so good right now and not at multi-pump speeds at K-Mart. You Rock!
Thanks for the instructional vid! Thanks to you I was able to order washers and shims, then modify my low pressure regulator to a higher output (1000psi) and my air rifle barrel responded favorably. The higher pressure got rid of my fliers, and tightened up the groups! Thanks again!

FYI, using a factory Ninja 13 ci, 3000# tank I was getting 650fps out of a Drozd Blackbird. Altered regulator using 5 pairs of recommended Belleville washers with a single on each end and (1) 0.20” shim, velocity went to 800fps. Don’t have a pressure output gauge to measure pressure. Also noticed new ninja tank regulator has a dab of “silicone” grease on the piston rings. Not petroleum grease. Thx for the video, well done.
I want to thank you for all the info on the Gauntlet and how to tune it. I have a ranch in Georgia and had a rat problem because of the feed I must keep. This rifle is just great and does the job I need it for . I bought it because of your information on it and in the 6 months I own it and your advice I have never had a problem. Thank you again. Stacking the belville washers in the same orientation will eliminate the spring effect of those washers then adding more shims to increase air pressure will add more working force to the four remaining pares of opposing belville washers there by increasing the potential for spring fatigue. imho

Gerald Wolfe I wish you luck with Umarex repair service and replacement parts. From my experience with them, they don’t seem to care to deal with the consumers other than our money from our pockets. I sent my gun back to have some issues fixed that got through QC that shouldn’t have but did and the made me buy a new regulator and bottle. The last time I fired the gun before it went to them it was shooting 14.3s @ 770 ish and when they sent it back it shot 667 FPS??? I have no idea what they did but damn sure know what they didn’t. My point is, utilize all the knowledge these guys put out there for us and fix it yourself if you can. In my case all Umarex did was piss me off, say screw the warranty cause it’s pointless.They don’t listen anyway and I ended up making it the way it should have been from the factory. This gun now is pushing 18+ grain pellets at 970 and didn’t take more than 20 minutes with common tools and skills. Considering I spent 20$ in shipping and another 100 for a reg and a tank plus about three weeks waiting. 20 minutes is nothing.
@@heathhalfhill6867 Sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with them! After several emails back and forth I actually got a return label for the tank. After another week or two I got the tank back with a note saying I had over filled it or was too forceful! This was absolutely ridiculous. I used an Umarex hand pump and it was all I could do to get it to 3000 psi and certainly not more! Also they ignored the fact that it burst a week after I filled it! Anyway, they replaced the disk and it didn't cost me anything, but my time. I've had no problems since with it other than the bolt is a real pain and constantly jams pellets!
That was a great tutorial on adjusting the Ninja regs. We are also big fans of using the SCBA tanks and that is what we designed the Stikman and Cascade Man around:')

alex barredo just be aware that the. Burst disc going to blow very soon. Even though it's rated at 1.8k it will blow even at 1500psi because of metal fatigue and because the out put pressure will vary. Be sure you have plenty of burst discs on hand. Mine would blow within about a week at 1550psi.
alex barredo now that you have changed the 1.8 K burst disc to 3K burst disc you must be careful that the gun you're using can handle 3000 pounds of pressure. If the regulator fails the full force of the bottle will be passing into your gun. It could be very dangerous I highly recommend not using a 3K burst disk if your gun cannot handle that kind of pressure. It's much safer to stick with the 1.8 K burst disk.
... Oops, I'd already ordered a new reg to resolve a severe power issue on my cutom pcp before remembering this... A little investigation showed my current 850 out reg already has belville washers, so I followed your example and adjusted mine to suit. I'll be refilling and testing my bottle tomorrow and chrony testing the new output to make sure it stays within the UK legal limits. The new reg I ordered will be mated to a new bottle when I get around to ordering one, this will either be used as a spare, or get mated to a second custom pcp I own which I believe suffers with the same power issue >.
just remove the piston spring, add a shim washer, put spring back in, you dont need to add all the belville blah blah just shim the spring to add tension. Thank you for sharing
Learn by trail and error. Great. Costs good money. But if I get all parts in one package called CKD(completely knocked down) package, I will buy one for me and many for my friends and assemble myself . Somebody manufacture all the parts and supply...someday. Saves lot of money and gives lot of satisfaction and the final product I dream.

Ken Brown that great. please just be careful try to keep the Ninja regulator about 1300 psi as CO2 specifications are around 800 to 1100 psi. check out John DiStefano at www.jdsairman.com he has built many crosman 2240 PCP guns using bottles at 1400psi output. I believe in balance. keep output pressure low enough to be safe be high enough to realize a power gain of hpa. good luck
Hey, I'm new to this stuff... but I'm wondering why you need to replace the spring with the Belleville washers. Will the modification work by just adding Shims with the original spring in place ? In theory, if you compress the SAME spring a little more, you won't get too much of a jump in output pressure. Actually, you may not see a change at all and it may deteriorate with time if kept under pressure (memory effect). You should get a tougher spring, which is what the belleville washers do in this case (also known as DISC SPRING).
Great video, lots of good info. Im planning to get a ninga pro v2 reg. SHP and install it on a 23ci carbon bottle for my Umarex Guntlet. And the same bottle for the reg that came with the gun. It is a ninga as well. Have you adjusted the pressure on any of the ninga pro v2 regs. I would assume they are the same, just with the rotation feature.
Is it possible to adjust the regulator on a sig Sauer mxc virtus pcp? It appears to be a Ninja. I really like the look and feel of the virtus, but I'd like to increase the power from the 12ft lbs...
I bet it is possible. Just dunno how high of a pressure the Virtus can take. I recsll it did have it's manufacturer's limit regardingbthe max pressure reading on the side of the rifle.
Guys are doing this to the virus I took my regulator apart and switched one of the three shims with the red shim that’s at the bottom of the stack of Millville washers I put the shim I replaced the red one with back at the bottom where red one was and installed the Melville washers exactly same way they were.I haven’t shot the gun yet but if you guys are interested I can let you know of results.
Yes. I made three shims (0.5mm and 2x 0.05mm, totally 0.60mm thick) and added them underneath the original stack of washers within the Virtus regulator. My Sig Air bottle regulator is now set to about 92bar~1330psi.
Great video. Trying to build ASA, Ninja Slide valve and Manometer setup as described. Ordered: Outdoor Guy Paintball CO2 Adapter Fill Station Remote On/Off ASA from Amazon. My Gauntlett 13ci bottle appears to have a pin versus a ball. The ASA will not depress pin enough to empty tank. Please recommend an ASA that will work. Thanks.
Have you done any experimenting with how much air you can flow through a stock valve and transfer port before you hit the velocity wall? When increasing the regulated output to a higher pressure, is there a point you reach where addition available air pressure doesn't give a gain. I ask because I was adding shims and testing with the factory 2250 transfer port and valve. Each time I added a shim, I saw an increase in velocity. However, when I added an additional shim going from .040 to .045, I saw a decrease. My first thought is I need either a stiffer hammer spring, but maybe I need better flow. Sorry for posting this question on such an old video. Also, those part numbers are still relevant as I used them a week ago to get the shims I am using.
So to get a higher output pressure all you had to do is take apart the regulator and reposition those shims? Most HPA tanks are regulated at 800 psi so is there any danger or downside to raising the pressure like this?

Scott Rader yes you can but mind you if you have a .177 Gauntlet and Increase the Fps, you then MIGHT need to switch to a heavier pellet than what you use now if you end you seeing accuracy issues. Therefore if that happens you might just be better off leaving it at stock reg settings. Now thats for .177 tho... Now for the .22 Gauntlet it should be a good/positive increase IMO to bring it up 100-200psi seeing as how alot of Gauntlets in .22 are a bit underpowered. Plus even the ones that are not underpowered could still benefit from a small increase. Just test it out. Very Important to have a Cronograph and do just a little adjustments at a time. Dont get crazy with it and try to rush it. You just have to take it slow and easy and keep track of your shims and numbers etc.etc. (((*NOTE: On P.Airs CZcams Channel there is a Video showing how to remove The Bottle on The Gauntlet without releasing all the air from it. Theres a simple little trick you can do that involves undoing bottle just a tad, then dry firing it several times to release some of the Air in the valve and line and then being able to take the bottle the rest of the way off without releasing the rest of your air. A very useful trick for any of you with handpumps out there. BUT Please Make sure to find and watch and follow the Video step by step before attempting to do the trick so as to be safe and do it correctly.))) #HPAirguns #UmarexGauntlet #KyAirGunners #ItsNotAFirearm #NinjaPaintballTanks #DrJones
Nice Tutorial, awesome video. You certainly are knowledgeable on these PCP Air Rifles and theregulators. Now I know how to increase my Ninga regulator that tested 1,700 psi to what it's suppose to be at 1,900 output. Do you have any idea how to increase the pressure on a "QUPB" regulator?
Just keep in mind that the output side of the regulator has a 1.8k burst disc for safety. This will blow after a few days if you set your regulator to 1700 psi. They even blow at 1600 psi. I had mine set to 1500 PSI and about a month later the 1.8k burst disc blew.

Ive seen some off brand ones with weird size like M10 × 1.5 or something like that. I dont remember the sizes exactly but i guess they are metric or something. They were made in China. Are the ninja regs etc. Those same sizes????
Dont know why these bottle companies can't just make a variety of regulators, especially with the popularity of co2 conversions. I found two full range regulators on line. One was $400, the other was $500.

So you don't mess with the belleville washers to increase pressure. Just add shims on top of bottle before you screw on the regulator. What is the od an id of the shims or do you have a link to the page. I would like to order some shims before I take off the regulator.
Ken Brown you need a Ninja slide check, Ninja ASA, and a 1/8th npt pressure gauge. the most accurate would be a 1500 psi gauge butna 2000 psi is good too
@airvelocitysport hello i have a Ninja Pro V2 that measured at 800 psi i want it to go to just 950 it came with the belview washers and 3 blue shims. Can I just add another blue shim to raise it to around 900 to 1000 psi ?

I already know the answer, even if it is possible and safe. But I have the ninja 3000 psi output valve on top of my 90 cu in 4500 ninja refill bottle ( I hear its basically the same as the air venturi, in fact I think air venturi actually makes it. My dilema now is I got a new pcp fx dream-tact compact, needless to say, loving it already, but it can fill to 230 bar unlike the 200 bar (3000 psi) hatsan I had previously. Unregulated valve for the refill bottle is like $219. But can I increase to output (safely of course ) of my ninja 3000 psi valve to 3335 (230 bar) psi so I can get a complete fill in my fx ?

DrJones yes, I will eventually do a follow up on the Yong hang compressor and the molecular sieve build. Just a quick update... It's working fine no issues. Fills really fast. I top off an 88cuft tank from 3000 psi to 4100 in 32 minutes. I have found that trying to push the compressor to 4500psi is not worth the trouble. 4100/4200psi is perfect. It get there quick. Sort of the 80/20 rule to get that last 20% fill it takes 80% effort. Not worth putting stress, wear and tear on the rings or the piston.
The gauge and fill port on my gauntlet do not line up properly in order to be viewed through the forearm cut outs properly if I tighten the air tank and regulator all the way down. To make the gauge/fill port line up correctly I have to leave the regulator somewhat loose and the bottle is a little wobbly. This can't be normal but I can't get any of it apart either..like it was put together with an impact wrench when they refurbished it. There is no simply unscrewing of the unit and the regulator and air tank both come out of the rifle in a single unit when I unscrew the tank. It is degassed and all of that. so..I don't know. Words of wisdom?
I found out that the bottom washers that ninja calls "calibrations washers" are just the same as the top shimes I got my SHP i was running at 950 down to 566PSI this is a big deal for me because I dont have to spend 70 bucks on a regulator for my new marker... regs are kinda BS in general they cost so much its almost better to just buy a whole tank & sell the tank the pricing of alone tanks & alone regs dont make since it cost almost double to buy a separate regulator from tank.
just as a note you can only go as high the low pressure side burst disc will allow. The low pressure disc says 1.8K psi but it will blow at around 1350 psi after a few days.
@@AirVelocitySport I have another issue I noticed one of my tanks has a rust like corrosion all over the belleville stack rings ill make sure to cover the fill nipple when i grease it but do you know anything off hand that is safe to use on the bellville ring stack ?
Yes, I too had he same problem with the ninja regulator. I even had rust on the spring and ball bearing. I would only use a little silicone grease. Never use oil that is combustible. That rust means water is getting into the regulator and bottle. Try using a molecular sieve filter with your compressor. If you are hand pumping try to put a filter between the pump and bottle.

Hi After building Two filling stations, id like to ask a technical question regarding filling of a PCP rifle. I can fill my rifle with my Nomad II compressor and foot pump no problem but when i go to use my newly built filling station tanks , my rifle will not begin to fill. When i open the valve on my filling station the air is leaving it down the air filling line. The filling stations are rated at 3000 ps (207 Bar). My Rifle will take up to 3000 psi. Is a pressure valve not opening on the rifle because of not enough back pressure? Do i need to have a tank with a higher pressure? Hope you can help ,cheers Red

I'm a little confused about my existing regulator. Mine too is a Ninja brand but it does Not have the ball bearing seal valve in the bonnet of the regulator. It has a pin type of valve. Also; on the bonnet there is inscribed the number 1150. I take this to mean that this is the output psi that this regulator is adjusted to. If so, this is odd because the Umarex Gauntlet users manual states that the output psi is 1250psi. Here's the confusing part. I checked the output psi the same way you checked yours. Inside my regulator it had only 10 Belville washers and no shims whatsoever. The output psi on this particular regulator read in the neighborhood of `1300psi just as it was. My manometer is one of the tiny cheap kind with the fat hash marks and fat needle so that "1300psi" reading has a plus or minus of perhaps one to two hundred psi. (maybe more) This regulator is part of the factory Umarex Gauntlet setup. (Unless they sent me one that had been sent back to them or someone had swapped things around before I got it.) I notice that the Ninja 13cc tank and regulator setups you have on your table in your video look the same except for the bonnets on your regulators. Do yours' have the output psi inscribed somewhere on the bonnet? I did go in and ad one .005" shim to my regulator to see if it would bring me up to 1400psi but those fat hash marks and that fat needle on my manometer make it difficult to tell. The differences in velocities over the chronograph show little to marginal difference so, I'm wondering, if I were to purchase an extra tank/regulator setup for my Gauntlet, is there a specific regulator that I can safely adjust to 1400 psi without wondering if I'd gone a little to far with the output PSI? I was hoping to safely get my velocities shooting the 14 grain pellets up to 900fps if possible. I don't need anything faster than that. My break barrel air guns both shoot that fast now. I'd like for this Gauntlet PCP to do a little better velocity-wise.
TIM MONTANO the regulator with the pin should work exactly like the one I have with the ball bearings. There is no inscription on the side of the Ninja regs except the marketing that indicate which burst disc to use. 1.8k on the output and 5k on the bottle. You are correct by increasing the shims you should get your pressure up. I have added as much as .03 shims o get the pressure up to 1600 psi. BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT JUST BECAUSE THE BURST DISC SAYS 1.8K PSI IT WILL BURST AT AROUND 1550 PSI OR EVEN LESS. I have found keep the output pressure to 1450 is the sweet spot. That allows my to shoot 14 grain pellets at 950fps on my crossman 2240. You can add an extra two Belleville washers but that my increase the pressure to the point where the burst disc will blow. It will scare the pants off you. Also keep extra 1.8k burst available. As you start to mess with the pressure you will eventually blow a burst disc. Also, just because you set the output pressure to a certain psi does not mean it will stay there. These ninja regulators have a tendency to creep upwards. You will find that you just set the regulator to 1450 psi and shot all day. You put the gun away and in the morning your bottle is empty because the reg creeped up and blew the burst disc.
Thanks for the quick reply. So, it's the belville washer that do the increasing of the output pressures? As I stated in my inquiry. MY existing regulator only had 10 belville washers in place and no shims. This was giving me around 1300psi ouptput pressure. The .005" shim in installed myself appeared to give me maybe a couple more pounds of pressure per square inch. I never intended to go beyond 1400psi. I just wanted to get my pellets to a velocity of around 900fps. At one point in your video you stated that every regulator is different. The same washer and shim arrangement will yield different numbers in different regulators. I suspect this is the case with my regulator cause with only ten Belvilles and no shims I'm getting 1300psi while the regulator you show has 12 Belvilles and a couple of shims and it's giving you what; about 1400psi? If I try installing 12 Belville washers in my regulator in place of the ten I have now, it seems like I'll more than likely blow a burst-disk for sure. This is one of the reasons I asked about if there was a specific regulator I should get if/when I buy an extra 13cc tank/regulator setup. As far as strength and durability, are all of the 13cc Ninja tank/regulator combos basically the same or are some stronger than others? I mean, even with the same 1.8 and 5000 burst disks attached, are some regulator rated to withstand higher pressures? (not that I'll ever go higher than 1400psi)
When I stated that every regulator is different I mean that every combination of shims and washers will not create the same output pressure. They are the same and their construction and ability to hold up to 3000 psi safely. The regulator you have on the gauntlet is almost exactly the same as the one I have on my ninja. If I'm not mistaken ninja has created the regulator and bottle for the gauntlet. You are probably right that adding two more Belleville washers will be too much. All you need to do is fine the correct thickness of shims to match the output pressure you looking for which I believe is around 1400 you're almost there just a little more thickness

So how many washers do you think we can safely install to raise the pressure? I ask because I have a reg that came set at 800psi with no washers in it. I , for shots and giggles but 5 .020 in it and it raised to like 1150psi. So if trying to achieve 1400-1600 psi I'm assuming it would not be ideal or safe to stack that thing up inside to the estimated 3/8" it would need. What are some thoughts on that?
I would not recommend filling above 3000PSI. I have filled to 3100psi just to push it a little but you risk blowing the 5K disc at 4000psi and possible risk of injury. These bottles are made to go well beyond 5000psi but the limits are put in place to ensure absolute safety. STAY SAFE AND DO NOT PUSH THE LIMITS.
Hey man can you (or anyone who knows) tell me what size threads are on the Umarex Gauntlet Regulator AND/OR If The Ninja V2 Regulator will fit in the Umarex Gauntlet??? {Im wanting to upgrade to a larger bottle for a higher shot count but instead of using the stock reg that came on the guns stock bottle I want to buy another one in order to have a spare tank and i like the V2 cause it can hold 4500psi so if i can find a carbon fiber bottle that will fit i can use that and get a even higher shot count and less added weight}
I found another little trick to get more power gauntlet's .it's so advious .I'm betting no one else has ever noticed yet .here it is .(when you take the breechblock and barrel off the rifle .look down inside the tube where the hammer goes .you'll see a thick spacer with an upper and lower screw hole it slides over the poppit pin .but only has very little clearance .it only allows the pin to travel about 25 thousands if you take the block out and shave off and another 25 thousands then the pin can travel twice as far more air = more power am I right or am I right lol

I don't know for sure but I would guess not. The only way to tell is to measure the thickness, inner and outer diameters. I have sense Belleville washers and shim spacers of different sizes.
I have a new 4500psi 68cc bottle. I have the ninja filler assembly. My bottle shows 4500 psi on the gauge but I can't get it to fill my new fx wild cat or my fx impact. Help...
A 66cc bottle will never have enough volume of air at 4500psi to fill a 480cc FX bottle even if the FX bottle is only 3650psi. You will need something much bigger like a buddy bottle or a 65cuft bottle.
Hi just a quick question; you have several paintball bottles, do you know if any of your bottles leak at the pressure gauge by submerging in water. mine dose, sending it back to the US will be expensive. What will you recommend as a replacement gauge..?
They are OK. Moisture will cause rust and deterioration on the spring and ball bearing as well as the main piston the Belleville washers are stainless steel and should hold up very well. I have had pretty consistent shooting with those regulators when they are new as they age I definitely would see variances of about 10 to 20 FPS over time you will need to clean or rebuild the ninja regulator top section after about a year or two.
Finally the gun i paid for. Thanks again for doing this video and leaving it up to help guys like me. My Gauntlet is pushing 18s close to a grand and my regs at 1350 psi. With a little help of some Halfhill Engineering of course. No after market parts at all. That little reg held it all back because it was only putting out 800 psi. Thanks so much for this long awaited performance.Shooting so good right now and not at multi-pump speeds at K-Mart. You Rock!

FYI, using a factory Ninja 13 ci, 3000# tank I was getting 650fps out of a Drozd Blackbird. Altered regulator using 5 pairs of recommended Belleville washers with a single on each end and (1) 0.20” shim, velocity went to 800fps. Don’t have a pressure output gauge to measure pressure.
Also noticed new ninja tank regulator has a dab of “silicone” grease on the piston rings. Not petroleum grease.

Stacking the belville washers in the same orientation will eliminate the spring effect of those washers then adding more shims to increase air pressure will add more working force to the four remaining pares of opposing belville washers there by increasing the potential for spring fatigue. imho

Gerald Wolfe I wish you luck with Umarex repair service and replacement parts. From my experience with them, they don’t seem to care to deal with the consumers other than our money from our pockets. I sent my gun back to have some issues fixed that got through QC that shouldn’t have but did and the made me buy a new regulator and bottle. The last time I fired the gun before it went to them it was shooting 14.3s @ 770 ish and when they sent it back it shot 667 FPS??? I have no idea what they did but damn sure know what they didn’t. My point is, utilize all the knowledge these guys put out there for us and fix it yourself if you can. In my case all Umarex did was piss me off, say screw the warranty cause it’s pointless.They don’t listen anyway and I ended up making it the way it should have been from the factory. This gun now is pushing 18+ grain pellets at 970 and didn’t take more than 20 minutes with common tools and skills. Considering I spent 20$ in shipping and another 100 for a reg and a tank plus about three weeks waiting. 20 minutes is nothing.
@@heathhalfhill6867 Sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with them! After several emails back and forth I actually got a return label for the tank. After another week or two I got the tank back with a note saying I had over filled it or was too forceful! This was absolutely ridiculous. I used an Umarex hand pump and it was all I could do to get it to 3000 psi and certainly not more! Also they ignored the fact that it burst a week after I filled it! Anyway, they replaced the disk and it didn't cost me anything, but my time. I've had no problems since with it other than the bolt is a real pain and constantly jams pellets!

alex barredo just be aware that the. Burst disc going to blow very soon. Even though it's rated at 1.8k it will blow even at 1500psi because of metal fatigue and because the out put pressure will vary. Be sure you have plenty of burst discs on hand. Mine would blow within about a week at 1550psi.

alex barredo now that you have changed the 1.8 K burst disc to 3K burst disc you must be careful that the gun you're using can handle 3000 pounds of pressure. If the regulator fails the full force of the bottle will be passing into your gun. It could be very dangerous I highly recommend not using a 3K burst disk if your gun cannot handle that kind of pressure. It's much safer to stick with the 1.8 K burst disk.

A little investigation showed my current 850 out reg already has belville washers, so I followed your example and adjusted mine to suit. I'll be refilling and testing my bottle tomorrow and chrony testing the new output to make sure it stays within the UK legal limits.
The new reg I ordered will be mated to a new bottle when I get around to ordering one, this will either be used as a spare, or get mated to a second custom pcp I own which I believe suffers with the same power issue >.

just remove the piston spring, add a shim washer, put spring back in, you dont need to add all the belville blah blah just shim the spring to add tension. Thank you for sharing

Learn by trail and error. Great. Costs good money. But if I get all parts in one package called CKD(completely knocked down) package, I will buy one for me and many for my friends and assemble myself . Somebody manufacture all the parts and supply...someday. Saves lot of money and gives lot of satisfaction and the final product I dream.
FYI, that slide check uses the same Orings as the Asa (end of the reg that goes into the gun). They will wear and leak or blow out.

Ken Brown that great. please just be careful try to keep the Ninja regulator about 1300 psi as CO2 specifications are around 800 to 1100 psi. check out John DiStefano at www.jdsairman.com he has built many crosman 2240 PCP guns using bottles at 1400psi output. I believe in balance. keep output pressure low enough to be safe be high enough to realize a power gain of hpa. good luck

Hey, I'm new to this stuff... but I'm wondering why you need to replace the spring with the Belleville washers. Will the modification work by just adding Shims with the original spring in place ? In theory, if you compress the SAME spring a little more, you won't get too much of a jump in output pressure. Actually, you may not see a change at all and it may deteriorate with time if kept under pressure (memory effect). You should get a tougher spring, which is what the belleville washers do in this case (also known as DISC SPRING).

Great video, lots of good info. Im planning to get a ninga pro v2 reg. SHP and install it on a 23ci carbon bottle for my Umarex Guntlet. And the same bottle for the reg that came with the gun. It is a ninga as well. Have you adjusted the pressure on any of the ninga pro v2 regs. I would assume they are the same, just with the rotation feature.

I bet it is possible. Just dunno how high of a pressure the Virtus can take. I recsll it did have it's manufacturer's limit regardingbthe max pressure reading on the side of the rifle.
Guys are doing this to the virus I took my regulator apart and switched one of the three shims with the red shim that’s at the bottom of the stack of Millville washers I put the shim I replaced the red one with back at the bottom where red one was and installed the Melville washers exactly same way they were.I haven’t shot the gun yet but if you guys are interested I can let you know of results.

I made three shims (0.5mm and 2x 0.05mm, totally 0.60mm thick) and added them underneath the original stack of washers within the Virtus regulator. My Sig Air bottle regulator is now set to about 92bar~1330psi.

Great video. Trying to build ASA, Ninja Slide valve and Manometer setup as described. Ordered: Outdoor Guy Paintball CO2 Adapter Fill Station Remote On/Off ASA from Amazon. My Gauntlett 13ci bottle appears to have a pin versus a ball. The ASA will not depress pin enough to empty tank. Please recommend an ASA that will work. Thanks.
Have you done any experimenting with how much air you can flow through a stock valve and transfer port before you hit the velocity wall? When increasing the regulated output to a higher pressure, is there a point you reach where addition available air pressure doesn't give a gain. I ask because I was adding shims and testing with the factory 2250 transfer port and valve. Each time I added a shim, I saw an increase in velocity. However, when I added an additional shim going from .040 to .045, I saw a decrease. My first thought is I need either a stiffer hammer spring, but maybe I need better flow. Sorry for posting this question on such an old video. Also, those part numbers are still relevant as I used them a week ago to get the shims I am using.

So to get a higher output pressure all you had to do is take apart the regulator and reposition those shims? Most HPA tanks are regulated at 800 psi so is there any danger or downside to raising the pressure like this?

Scott Rader I'm not sure but it should be. Most of these regulators operate the same way.
Scott Rader yes you can but mind you if you have a .177 Gauntlet and Increase the Fps, you then MIGHT need to switch to a heavier pellet than what you use now if you end you seeing accuracy issues. Therefore if that happens you might just be better off leaving it at stock reg settings. Now thats for .177 tho... Now for the .22 Gauntlet it should be a good/positive increase IMO to bring it up 100-200psi seeing as how alot of Gauntlets in .22 are a bit underpowered. Plus even the ones that are not underpowered could still benefit from a small increase. Just test it out. Very Important to have a Cronograph and do just a little adjustments at a time. Dont get crazy with it and try to rush it. You just have to take it slow and easy and keep track of your shims and numbers etc.etc. (((*NOTE: On P.Airs CZcams Channel there is a Video showing how to remove The Bottle on The Gauntlet without releasing all the air from it. Theres a simple little trick you can do that involves undoing bottle just a tad, then dry firing it several times to release some of the Air in the valve and line and then being able to take the bottle the rest of the way off without releasing the rest of your air. A very useful trick for any of you with handpumps out there. BUT Please Make sure to find and watch and follow the Video step by step before attempting to do the trick so as to be safe and do it correctly.)))

Nice Tutorial, awesome video. You certainly are knowledgeable on these PCP Air Rifles and theregulators. Now I know how to increase my Ninga regulator that tested 1,700 psi to what it's suppose to be at 1,900 output. Do you have any idea how to increase the pressure on a "QUPB" regulator?
Just keep in mind that the output side of the regulator has a 1.8k burst disc for safety. This will blow after a few days if you set your regulator to 1700 psi. They even blow at 1600 psi. I had mine set to 1500 PSI and about a month later the 1.8k burst disc blew.

Ive seen some off brand ones with weird size like M10 × 1.5 or something like that. I dont remember the sizes exactly but i guess they are metric or something. They were made in China. Are the ninja regs etc. Those same sizes????

Dont know why these bottle companies can't just make a variety of regulators, especially with the popularity of co2 conversions. I found two full range regulators on line. One was $400, the other was $500.

So you don't mess with the belleville washers to increase pressure. Just add shims on top of bottle before you screw on the regulator. What is the od an id of the shims or do you have a link to the page. I would like to order some shims before I take off the regulator.

I already know the answer, even if it is possible and safe. But I have the ninja 3000 psi output valve on top of my 90 cu in 4500 ninja refill bottle ( I hear its basically the same as the air venturi, in fact I think air venturi actually makes it. My dilema now is I got a new pcp fx dream-tact compact, needless to say, loving it already, but it can fill to 230 bar unlike the 200 bar (3000 psi) hatsan I had previously. Unregulated valve for the refill bottle is like $219. But can I increase to output (safely of course ) of my ninja 3000 psi valve to 3335 (230 bar) psi so I can get a complete fill in my fx ?

DrJones yes, I will eventually do a follow up on the Yong hang compressor and the molecular sieve build. Just a quick update... It's working fine no issues. Fills really fast. I top off an 88cuft tank from 3000 psi to 4100 in 32 minutes. I have found that trying to push the compressor to 4500psi is not worth the trouble. 4100/4200psi is perfect. It get there quick. Sort of the 80/20 rule to get that last 20% fill it takes 80% effort. Not worth putting stress, wear and tear on the rings or the piston.
Can this also be done on the Sig Sauer virtual.22 pcp
The gauge and fill port on my gauntlet do not line up properly in order to be viewed through the forearm cut outs properly if I tighten the air tank and regulator all the way down. To make the gauge/fill port line up correctly I have to leave the regulator somewhat loose and the bottle is a little wobbly. This can't be normal but I can't get any of it apart either..like it was put together with an impact wrench when they refurbished it. There is no simply unscrewing of the unit and the regulator and air tank both come out of the rifle in a single unit when I unscrew the tank. It is degassed and all of that. so..I don't know. Words of wisdom?
I found out that the bottom washers that ninja calls "calibrations washers" are just the same as the top shimes I got my SHP i was running at 950 down to 566PSI this is a big deal for me because I dont have to spend 70 bucks on a regulator for my new marker... regs are kinda BS in general they cost so much its almost better to just buy a whole tank & sell the tank the pricing of alone tanks & alone regs dont make since it cost almost double to buy a separate regulator from tank.
just as a note you can only go as high the low pressure side burst disc will allow. The low pressure disc says 1.8K psi but it will blow at around 1350 psi after a few days.
@@AirVelocitySport I have another issue I noticed one of my tanks has a rust like corrosion all over the belleville stack rings ill make sure to cover the fill nipple when i grease it but do you know anything off hand that is safe to use on the bellville ring stack ?
Yes, I too had he same problem with the ninja regulator. I even had rust on the spring and ball bearing. I would only use a little silicone grease. Never use oil that is combustible. That rust means water is getting into the regulator and bottle. Try using a molecular sieve filter with your compressor. If you are hand pumping try to put a filter between the pump and bottle.

filling of a PCP rifle.
I can fill my rifle with
my Nomad II compressor and foot pump no problem but when i go to use my newly built filling station tanks , my rifle will not begin to fill. When i open the valve on my filling station the air is leaving it down the air filling line. The filling stations are rated at
3000 ps (207 Bar). My Rifle will take up to 3000 psi. Is a pressure valve not opening
on the rifle because of not enough back pressure? Do i need to have a tank with a higher pressure?

Would this also work on a ninja 35/3000 flat bottom also. Regulators look the same in the pictures.
I'm a little confused about my existing regulator. Mine too is a Ninja brand but it does Not have the ball bearing seal valve in the bonnet of the regulator. It has a pin type of valve. Also; on the bonnet there is inscribed the number 1150. I take this to mean that this is the output psi that this regulator is adjusted to. If so, this is odd because the Umarex Gauntlet users manual states that the output psi is 1250psi.
Here's the confusing part. I checked the output psi the same way you checked yours. Inside my regulator it had only 10 Belville washers and no shims whatsoever. The output psi on this particular regulator read in the neighborhood of `1300psi just as it was. My manometer is one of the tiny cheap kind with the fat hash marks and fat needle so that "1300psi" reading has a plus or minus of perhaps one to two hundred psi. (maybe more)
This regulator is part of the factory Umarex Gauntlet setup. (Unless they sent me one that had been sent back to them or someone had swapped things around before I got it.) I notice that the Ninja 13cc tank and regulator setups you have on your table in your video look the same except for the bonnets on your regulators. Do yours' have the output psi inscribed somewhere on the bonnet?
I did go in and ad one .005" shim to my regulator to see if it would bring me up to 1400psi but those fat hash marks and that fat needle on my manometer make it difficult to tell. The differences in velocities over the chronograph show little to marginal difference so, I'm wondering, if I were to purchase an extra tank/regulator setup for my Gauntlet, is there a specific regulator that I can safely adjust to 1400 psi without wondering if I'd gone a little to far with the output PSI?
I was hoping to safely get my velocities shooting the 14 grain pellets up to 900fps if possible. I don't need anything faster than that. My break barrel air guns both shoot that fast now. I'd like for this Gauntlet PCP to do a little better velocity-wise.
TIM MONTANO the regulator with the pin should work exactly like the one I have with the ball bearings. There is no inscription on the side of the Ninja regs except the marketing that indicate which burst disc to use. 1.8k on the output and 5k on the bottle. You are correct by increasing the shims you should get your pressure up. I have added as much as .03 shims o get the pressure up to 1600 psi. BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT JUST BECAUSE THE BURST DISC SAYS 1.8K PSI IT WILL BURST AT AROUND 1550 PSI OR EVEN LESS. I have found keep the output pressure to 1450 is the sweet spot. That allows my to shoot 14 grain pellets at 950fps on my crossman 2240. You can add an extra two Belleville washers but that my increase the pressure to the point where the burst disc will blow. It will scare the pants off you. Also keep extra 1.8k burst available. As you start to mess with the pressure you will eventually blow a burst disc. Also, just because you set the output pressure to a certain psi does not mean it will stay there. These ninja regulators have a tendency to creep upwards. You will find that you just set the regulator to 1450 psi and shot all day. You put the gun away and in the morning your bottle is empty because the reg creeped up and blew the burst disc.

So, it's the belville washer that do the increasing of the output pressures? As I stated in my inquiry. MY existing regulator only had 10 belville washers in place and no shims. This was giving me around 1300psi ouptput pressure.
The .005" shim in installed myself appeared to give me maybe a couple more pounds of pressure per square inch. I never intended to go beyond 1400psi. I just wanted to get my pellets to a velocity of around 900fps.
At one point in your video you stated that every regulator is different. The same washer and shim arrangement will yield different numbers in different regulators. I suspect this is the case with my regulator cause with only ten Belvilles and no shims I'm getting 1300psi while the regulator you show has 12 Belvilles and a couple of shims and it's giving you what; about 1400psi?
If I try installing 12 Belville washers in my regulator in place of the ten I have now, it seems like I'll more than likely blow a burst-disk for sure. This is one of the reasons I asked about if there was a specific regulator I should get if/when I buy an extra 13cc tank/regulator setup. As far as strength and durability, are all of the 13cc Ninja tank/regulator combos basically the same or are some stronger than others? I mean, even with the same 1.8 and 5000 burst disks attached, are some regulator rated to withstand higher pressures? (not that I'll ever go higher than 1400psi)
When I stated that every regulator is different I mean that every combination of shims and washers will not create the same output pressure. They are the same and their construction and ability to hold up to 3000 psi safely. The regulator you have on the gauntlet is almost exactly the same as the one I have on my ninja. If I'm not mistaken ninja has created the regulator and bottle for the gauntlet. You are probably right that adding two more Belleville washers will be too much. All you need to do is fine the correct thickness of shims to match the output pressure you looking for which I believe is around 1400 you're almost there just a little more thickness

Hello, what would be the washer configuration for an output of 2200 psi? Much appreciated.
So how many washers do you think we can safely install to raise the pressure? I ask because I have a reg that came set at 800psi with no washers in it. I , for shots and giggles but 5 .020 in it and it raised to like 1150psi. So if trying to achieve 1400-1600 psi I'm assuming it would not be ideal or safe to stack that thing up inside to the estimated 3/8" it would need. What are some thoughts on that?

Hi if the bottle is 3000 psi with a 5k burst disk, do I need to pump it to exactly to 3000psi or can I go over say 4000psi. Thanks
I would not recommend filling above 3000PSI. I have filled to 3100psi just to push it a little but you risk blowing the 5K disc at 4000psi and possible risk of injury. These bottles are made to go well beyond 5000psi but the limits are put in place to ensure absolute safety. STAY SAFE AND DO NOT PUSH THE LIMITS.

Hey man can you (or anyone who knows) tell me what size threads are on the Umarex Gauntlet Regulator AND/OR If The Ninja V2 Regulator will fit in the Umarex Gauntlet??? {Im wanting to upgrade to a larger bottle for a higher shot count but instead of using the stock reg that came on the guns stock bottle I want to buy another one in order to have a spare tank and i like the V2 cause it can hold 4500psi so if i can find a carbon fiber bottle that will fit i can use that and get a even higher shot count and less added weight}
I found another little trick to get more power gauntlet's .it's so advious .I'm betting no one else has ever noticed yet .here it is .(when you take the breechblock and barrel off the rifle .look down inside the tube where the hammer goes .you'll see a thick spacer with an upper and lower screw hole it slides over the poppit pin .but only has very little clearance .it only allows the pin to travel about 25 thousands if you take the block out and shave off and another 25 thousands then the pin can travel twice as far more air = more power am I right or am I right lol

The bottle is limited to about 1800psi as the low side/ output burst disc is a 1.8k. and even at 1600psi the burst will blow after a little while.

Are the shims in all paintball air regulators the same size? I have a Tippmann and I am wondering if your shim size will fit my regulator.
I don't know for sure but I would guess not. The only way to tell is to measure the thickness, inner and outer diameters. I have sense Belleville washers and shim spacers of different sizes.

I have a new 4500psi 68cc bottle. I have the ninja filler assembly. My bottle shows 4500 psi on the gauge but I can't get it to fill my new fx wild cat or my fx impact. Help...
A 66cc bottle will never have enough volume of air at 4500psi to fill a 480cc FX bottle even if the FX bottle is only 3650psi. You will need something much bigger like a buddy bottle or a 65cuft bottle.
Hi just a quick question; you have several paintball bottles, do you know if any of your bottles leak at the pressure gauge by submerging in water. mine dose, sending it back to the US will be expensive. What will you recommend as a replacement gauge..?
None of mine leak at the gauge but one is leaking at the ball bearing because it's rusting. I would just replace the gauge and use telfon tape

How accurate/consistent are these regulators? Some PCP regulators cost $150-200 alone and yet these are so much cheaper, including the bottles
They are OK. Moisture will cause rust and deterioration on the spring and ball bearing as well as the main piston the Belleville washers are stainless steel and should hold up very well. I have had pretty consistent shooting with those regulators when they are new as they age I definitely would see variances of about 10 to 20 FPS over time you will need to clean or rebuild the ninja regulator top section after about a year or two.
