This cover was entirely recorded and produced by Mike Luke and Marcel P.
I played all instruments and forced Dave Grohl to participate. Only his vocals are from the original song. The drums were recorded in 2 parts with EZdrummer 2 and an electronic drum kit. The “drums only cover” is on Facebook.
The drumming footage are live takes, while the guitar footage is playback. (I am not a good guitar player to be able to record in one go in front of the camera). Guitars and bass are directly recorded through an audio interface. No physical amps were used.
All MIDI and audio files were sent to Mike Luke. He used his mixing magic to make them sound like this. All the sounds you hear are digital. Digital guitar amps and a digital drum set.

Thanks. Yes, I am lucky to get this mixed by Mike. I would not have been able.
Dude your awesome! So much Talent too be able to play all those instruments Nice Job
Thank you! I am still a beginner in terms of guitar and bass though. I cannot play complicated stuff:)
Sounds great well done all of you my friends!👍🍺🤛
Great job Marcel! Mike Luke also did amazing job, it sounds like it was recorded in some expensive studio. Cheers guys!
Thank you. yes, it was actually recorded at the kitchen table:D
great cover! amazing job ;)
That's a awesome job guys.
Thanks Robert!
perfect cover
Great work on the video editing too! 👍🏻
Thank you, the editing took almost as long as the recording:D
Great cover, one of my FF favs. Nice kit too. I want one of those Drum-tec protection patches as I’ve heard they do muffle the tapping sound a bit on the kick but they want to charge me €40 just in postage to Australia, can you believe it. Any idea if Evans patches muffle as good?
Thank you! The patch does not really muffle, but protect the kick head. Most other patches won't stick to mesh heads.
Thought I’d post an update. I’m now using an Evans patch for my Roland KD-9 kick pad. At first I didn’t think it was going to stay on but if you keep it pressed down gently for about 1 minute and then leave it overnight then it sticks fine. Don’t press down too hard as the patch will start to buckle and won’t stick properly. Have been using it for a month or so now and it’s still fine. It doesn’t muffle the tapping of the beater but is just to protect the mesh pad.
Nice and accurate. Perfect job master!!! ;)
I wonder if you make other covers soon? :D
Weeeeeell
Cooles Teil!!!
Danke!
Please do more!
FUNKYLUNG I will probably do another one, thinking about a rock version of a pop song:)
Why don’t I get a special thanks for helping you film!? 😢
Sometimes people in a relationship take each other for granted and forget the most important person. Thanks again for these great shots! You're the best...around...
@@Vdrumtips1 Publically shamed hahaha 😂
Whoah that was sick! What sounds are u using for the drumkit? Roland td30 sound module or software if software what settings that was so cool
The sounds are from Superior Drummer 3. The TD-30 is only used to trigger them.
So the midi is from EZdrummer 2 but the sounds are from Superior Drummer 3?
Exactly
Vdrum Tips Oh :(
I thought those sounds were from EZDrummer 2.
I want to record my songs with EZDrummer 2. Do you think I could get something at least similar to this cover?
Nice Stumpomatic I’m jealous I always wanted a Patrick Stump guitar
Doesn’t sound Live. Overdubbed
