    The fact some drivers will do whatever they can to give you a clear road, you still get the odd idiots who don't have a clue, but another great video and great driving skills, Drive Safe, Stay Safe.

    When 99% of people move out of the way as best they can, we cannot complain about the 1%, its awesome to see

    Love watching these videos, you really do see how difficult and challenging it is dealing with other road users and traffic.

    I tip my hat to these men and women who do this stressful work daily. In these type of videos you see either how many people either don't use mirrors, or panic and get in a fluff when an emergency vehicle needs to get past, worst still...both !!

    Haha, it's been a while since those roadworks were there, i didn't recognise till Wokingham station.
    I'm currently going through the application process for RBFRS to be an apprentice so this is extra cool. Feels weird when you recognise the roads on videos like this haha

    It never seems to amaze me on how obvious these drivers are of what is behind or in front of them with their lights and blues and two’s going and they still don’t know we’re to go ?

    People are not constantly looking in their mirrors but should be more aware I don’t think it helps when there’s heavy traffic and nowhere to go, sometimes it’s best to keep moving and pull over when safe, as an ex coach driver I can say we had to do that also usually spotted in advance and would be looking for appropriate place to stop emergency vehicle would carry on without hindrance got a lot of toots and thumbs up from fire drivers & crew

    Sirens not loud enough now if u have radio on you can’t hear them also unmarked vehicles don’t obvious flashing lights as on marked vehicles I remember the days of the old two tone air horns, you could hear them a long way away

    • @EmergencydriveUK
      @EmergencydriveUK  Před 2 lety +2

      Interesting, many people comment on how quiet my sirens sound. Perhaps it may be due to the fact that they are placed at the front of the engine compartment therefore the sound has to penetrate through the engine bay and then closed windows, I would hate to think how loud it would be in the passenger compartment if they were any louder.

    It is staggering to see how many drivers take so long to get out the way ( move over ) 7;53 , for one . They either do not look in their mirrors , or are too busy doing something else in car . Maybe some are deaf ?

    it seems like your siren sound isn't thrown far enough, it seems especially evident from 4:40 where 3 cars in a row all see you pretty late. seen the same in a few other videos. unfortunate thing to have to work with, great driving though!

    • @ilikechickensausages2075
      @ilikechickensausages2075 Před 3 lety +2

      Other drivers might have the music up loud, and wind can throw off the siren

    • @Ressy66
      @Ressy66 Před 2 lety +2

      The problem with sirens everywhere these days, they are located almost road level, you have a speaker thats shooting into countless bits of solid metal masses in front of you, in heavy traffic, thats massive sound suppression not to mention modern cars being more sound proof and radios. Its why you'll nearly always hear fire trucks further because higher off the road. I remember back in 80s when police bar lights had the centre speaker, you could hear them for miles away even in heavy traffic, now, its barely 50 metres behind you

    • @dasy2k1
      @dasy2k1 Před 2 lety

      For sheer audibility you struggle to beat proper 2 tone air horns...(well unless you have an American Q siren but they are toooo loud) . Problem with them is the lack of direction perception that you get with wail/yelp

    • @Jimmythefish577
      @Jimmythefish577 Před 2 lety +2

      @@Ressy66 H+S dictate that sirens can no longer be roof or cab mounted due to the effects of hearing damage than can be sustained by regular exposure when responding. That’s why they’re all bumper mounted or grill mounted now. That being said, the sirens these unmarked cars use are nothing like as powerful as the marked vehicle ones, they’re usually hidden away inside the engine bay which doesn’t help. Add in the probably poor visibility of the lighting package other road users can be forgiven for their slow reactions,.

    • @YelpBullhorn
      @YelpBullhorn Před 2 lety +1

      Not really. The electronic siren is controlled by the car's steering wheel horn button - start, toggle-through and stop. Sometimes you have to press a tad hard to get the desired result and therefore the horn sounds too. When correctly setup this shouldn't happen.
