There is no greater joy than to find a nice tool another man has left behind in a ceiling 🤣
As long as it comes down 'Under Control'.
I worked as a Contract Electrical Lineman for all over The United States of America for 25 years and I can't count the number of knives or Crescent wrenches that I have found on the top of a transformer or pole top. Most were unusable because of the rust but I do have a few knives that were salvageable.
He left it there with the camera....
We call em cieling treasures. Occasionally forehead treasures.
@@brabdon1 I before E except after C. Ceiling. I had a 100 year old Stanley level fall out of an attic on my head once.
I was 65 before I got my first ambulance ride. It involved a ladder in a building and ended up with a broken femur. You did better
The worlds most expensive taxi will kill you if that tinfoil ladder dont.
I broke my femur with a ladder when I was 19. had a metal rod and 4 screws put in my leg and 2 years before I fully recovered. could have been avoided if I listened to myself when I said "This doesn't feel safe"
The things we do to 'save' some time lol
@@davidhedgman993 Saving time is a fairly sad illusion. No such thing. Time simply is and is not save-able.
It is called a "Fools" bet. If it works you save a minute. If it does not work, you have to pay. Sometimes a lot.
OMG , yeah the ladder is not sketchy at all Rudy . 😳
In my mind I was footing that ladder for him.
I had to skip that part. I've been on ladders for over 50 years because I don't do sketchy. Gravity can be your friend or your worst enemy.
You needed to extend that latter another 3 to 4 feet above the duct work!
Nope, don't do it! I can't watch.....
@@kevincosta9228 Good idea except that puts you in his fall zone. Best to stand back.
Since you're a metalworker you can fabricate some extensions for your forks on the forklift. They are very handy.
Also not legal according to OSHA.
@@uprebel5150 If doing it as a private person, he could slip under those rules. Pretty sure a table is not a OSHA certified forklift attachment ;)
@@jb3536 They might if it's on a YT channel with a following.
@@uprebel5150 OSHA has no say over what a private person does in their private place.
Googling OSHA shows it is about regulating employers so their employees have a safe work environment.
Shop is looking great. So happy to see the video posted. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!!
I can think of a couple of things you could have done to make the duct removal even more sketchy, but I think you pretty much were at the limits of maybe being able to walk away. Christmas has come and gone for 2022. Hope you had a Merry, merry, and have a prosperous and SAFE 2023🎉
Well from the construction guys when you go back up for the impact extend the extension ladder and it will be way less sketchy. Have fun guys
Leaving the cordless drill on top of the vent is a perfect hiding place for it. Thieves would never look up there. Well, Rudy may not look for it there either.
That's an extension ladder so you could've extended it a little more for safety. OSHA recommends 3 feet above. But good ingenuity in finding ways to make things work
They call them "extension" ladders for a reason!!! For safety, u should have extended it up past your work point, much less of a chance of it slipping off, and u breaking bones or worst. Please try to be more cautious, next time. All in all, you are the man, love seeing your fab. work!!!!
I grew up on a farm. We had chickens, and a chicken coop. Every morning my sister would collect the eggs and let the hens out. They were fed a _small_ amount of grain (oats and corn) but almost all of their food they found. TRUE "Free-Range" chickens. Dad would whack one about noon, and we would eat it at six. They taste soooooo goooood when they are fresh free-range. Yum, yum. I actually _know_ what a chicken looks like running around with it head cut off.
We didn’t get a Christmas tree but we did get a chicken... LOL
Janelle helping out on camera is always a pleasant surprise. 👍😎✊
You two are going places❤
Always, Always have someone hold your ladder on a concrete floor!
I definitely recommend an anchor person on the ladder.... I also recomment using an anchor at the top of the ladder when possible.... I generally keep a trusty rope around when using a ladder.... one better is the use of ratchet straps.... Doc.
Footing, it's called footing a ladder. It really needs to be done in this case! General rule is to have someone foot the ladder and then secure it when/if possible at the top if you are above your own height.
oh and don't trust any stupid gadget or wedge with your life, it's called FOOTING for a reason :D
That’s no fun 😏
I've took a ride down a brick wall because the bottom slipped out on concrete
Congrats, that's a huge space looking forward to newer builds . Happy New Year
What a great new space Rudy! Janelle voice of reason and such a great helper and camera slinger! Everything and anything can be dangerous. what you did Rudy was what I call McGyver (you do the best with what you got) . Sketch or no sketch ;-) you got 'er done! Higgins is so sweet! Hope you keep Noodle around!
The continuing adventures of Rudy.. The Chicken Whisperer... Looking good young man.
I was going to say that! Dang!!
@Douglas Darby Rudy's throat was so tight with fear from all the previous 'Sketch' all he could do was whisper. :D Otherwise he would have 3 chickens. Well, 2 chickens and a rooster. 😁
Build yourself a Forklift Cage, with the height of that shop, it will be handy more than once
Nice to see you getting started on the shop. I think you should set this shop up based on how you like it and what works the best for you, maybe without the cordless drill on the vent pipe. Need a sign out front with your logo, and some racks to store stuff. Our dreams are only as small as make them.
Nice to see progress on the shop. Wishing you the best on your new endeavor.
Rudy doing sketchy shit doo da doo da. And he got away wit it doo da doo da. 🎵 😂
I'm thinking the Fork Lift may have been better than the ladder to start too 🙂
Scaffolding is the way to go. 3 sets will get you 20 feet high. Flat platform to work off of. I've had my scaffolding for 32 years now.
@@ripvanrevs I have worked on scaffolding 70 feet high and never had an accident so I agree with you.!
@@ripvanrevs With the proviso, as long as you know how to set it up properly.
I can sense the tremendous potential of this channel!
Injury or death is a party spoiler.
@@zekeabercrombie3583 Death sure. That is a party spoiler, no doubt. But.....if Rudy were to get a blood blister or a bruise here or there...that would not be a deal breaker for me. Id still watch. I hope that doesnt make me a monster or anything
@@mikemathis3936 A 15' fall from a ladder onto a concrete floor ain't no blood blister.
@@zekeabercrombie3583 I think I mustve missed that part of the video
@@mikemathis3936 Basically, all of it ,except the chicken. Bloody dangerous stupidity. Rudi's Gaurdian Angel was working overtime., It won't happen to me, right up to time it does, and Gravity, always wins.
Rudy, Rudy, Rudy, NO ONE is afraid of heights! Just a few folks fear the sudden stop at the end of a great fall.
You are in my prayers
Hoka Hey
That can be the new shop tradition, time to get the Christmas chicken every year!
🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅MERRyY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅. Thanks for the viids! ☮☮ PEACE ☮☮
Congratulations on your New shop Rudy. Janelle is Awesome!! The ladder was sketchy to say the least. Forklift with blade extension with a square platform with railing is much safer. Safety FIRST!!! Fantastic that your getting a lift.
Rudy! Extend the ladder as high as you can, past wherever you're working as possible!!!
Somewhere an osha inspector fainted and his manual burst into flames after seeing this. Hahahaha
The Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!🤪🤪
Its nice how you give your signature and humor to channel with work, Keep it with good work
Rudy I know there is a lot of expenses getting a new shop space, moving stuff from one place to another but for safety sake you may want to consider renting one of those electrical powered scissor lifts with a man basket. Or rent some scaffolding.
I found a whole flock of chickens way out on the west end of lost spring a few years ago.
Man, Rudy..that high up n the ladder leaning against a questionable ductwork calls for having the base of the ladder tied off so it doesn't kick out while you are up there! Once a ladder kicks, there's no stopping it or taking it back...Only "benefit" is you come down a LOT faster! (but the sudden stop is a LOT harder!! )
Hey Rudy !! Have ""FUN"" cleaning up the ""CHICKEN "" Droppings ALL over your clean shop !! HAHA 🙃😉😊 Great enjoyment to see that you DIDN"T hurt yourself getting the duct work down !!! 🤔🤔👍👍👍👍👍
Good luck with your new venture Rudy!
Thanks for sharing what is going on.
Stay safe healthy and happy 👍
Congrats on your shop Rudy! BBQ Chicken is delicious , but that Chicken does look a lot like a Crow so maybe not so good with that one! Thanks guys! Definitely looking forward to your next adventure.. 👍
Maybe that bird is an illusive Diamond-Billed Rock Pecker? I understand that they are normally found in the Moab area.
@@cotton-Dave l
Janelle has a sweet dumper on her. Good job!
Merry Christmas! Happy for you with the new shop. Please, be a lot less sketchy moving forward. 🙏
Great looking shop.
Sketchy doesn’t even start to describe that job!😂
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats 👍👍👍👍👍👍 ...But I also agree 110% with Janelle's head shaking. Rudy, please be careful. A scissor lift rental would have been ideal. 🤔 Remove first factor of sketchiness: Strapping the table to the forklift . Remove second factor of sketchiness: Strap duct to table. Supervising Safety Officer: Janelle. Assistant Safety Officer: Colin. OSHA would have no problem with that. Proactive Safety = Positivity, not Negativity.
I love it when the Bad Idea Fairy shows up!!
Gettin the Getup in your Setup. Looking forward to the new projects.
It's nice to see you have a new shop can't wait to see more of your videos
Fun fact coming up! I'm from Norway and where I grew up is 10 minutes away from a place called Hildal - basically the same name as this area! Love your content Rudy, keep it up!
Chickens are great, but don't forget they are a flock animal and need companions. Get more and enjoy some fresh eggs. Looking forward to seeing what you do with your shop. Great things are ahead in 2023!
Thats a Hen, Rudy! Be good to her and she will give you eggs!!
This could become interesting, Def varied, lol! Looking forward to all the adventures... Thanx !
The S in OSHA stands for Sketchy
Merry Christmas!
Thought you'd find John McLain in there. Yippee Ki Yay.
Good to see you settle down and want to become a chicken farmer, there's nothing wrong with that. Your young and you can chase chickens around all day. 🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🏃
The ladder scene reminds me of my logging days with some polish fellers.
~Let's just say their group got smaller over the term of the project.
Congratulations on the new place can't wait to see your first project. Stay safe
Congrats on the new shop & moving on up..
Looks like a new start in a new shop is coming. Looking forward to it!
Put a nice skid on the fork lift and use that as a high reach to take the screws out.
Please use that as an exhaust tip on the worlds largest off-road wrecker. lol
That exhaust fan would have been great to make a small paint booth underneath it .
Wow what a nice shop you have and is that building attached your living home area? And please be careful removing those giant exhaust looking thing! Lucky you have a good helper Janelle, two or more heads are better than one. So happy for you guys this is a nice place, lots of space area for your other projects! So far good job! Mahalo Hawaii Ohana!
I wish you 2 well I know when I got out from under my dad's feet is a blessing day
Very cool Rudy 😎 👌 👍
Like your new place .
Nice new shop Rudy alot more space, duck removal wasn't at all sketchy nobody got hurt, great video thank's for sharing ❤😉👍
I'm so excited to see new videos congratulations on yr new shop.
Nice to see you moving up rudy, a little sketchy but all's good. Keep it coming. Big Thanks from Grand canyon junction AZ.
Your chicken needs a buddy or 2. They operate better with a flock. Less mischievous and generally more docile. (Not always, but mostly)
Editing and camera work is awesome, goes with the content. Thanks
theyre old English game chickens. i hope you can get the rest, they are quite hearty and easy to raise.
💯 Albuquerque New Mexico in the house with love and support. Land of the famous documentary Breaking Bad
Congratulations on the new shop Rudy you are going to be doing some amazing stuff I'm pretty sure of it
Rudy and Janelle I know it is the day after Christmas but better late than never. Merry Christmas too you both and a cool shop and looking good
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤ God bless you all 🙏🏻 ❤
Its getting ready to get a lot more sketchy....lol best line in this video...Safety is not number one but it's way up there...lol
Looking forward to seeing what you do with the shop and how you rig it out.
RUDY....!!!!!
YOU left your drill on top of the vent pipe...!!!!
Pure GENIUS...!!!!
Great job Rudy...
Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year...!!!
Looks like he might have left a camera up there too!
Seen a lader slide out from bottom on cement. Always have friend place foot support on bottom of lader and hold lader.
As a life long Boston owner love yours
Rudy AND Janelle, I would have had some “free range chicken” for dinner. Keep in mind, I grew up in the country and doing stuff like NOT taking advantage of that kind of invitation is sacrificing your good luck for the week. Name your dinner if you want to, I’m not thinking twice about it!
Awesome place 😎 Thanks for letting us in!
The new shop is a great Christmas gift
Good luck with the new shop
It's good to see that safety if your 36th priority
The ending was great. Good shot.
Rudy Rudy Rudy, please always secure the top of the ladder when working at heights. Here in Alberta, if your feet are 10 feet or more off the ground you must wear a harness with fall arrest or have a safety railing. We don't want to lose you before you even get moved in. We are pumped for you to succeed. Cheers!
Murphey s famous expression?
Nothing until it happens.
Congrats with the place. Seems a nice spot to get things going. All of you best wishes and happy new year.
Ah, the things we do when our bodies are young, and flexible! Congrats on the new shop! Todd the retired trucker.
Ho Ho Ho Hopefully everyone had a great Christmas. I like your new shop Rudy. Lots of possibilities there.

A shop chicken? Excellent! She can pull security when you're away! Good luck with the new space!
Have heard Tell that a mule is a Real Fine burglar Alarm. (As are Geese. {Maybe Rudy is "Starting Small."})
Nice shop! Makes me envious!
Love this channel even more now with the new shop and format! Please share some of your projects (not only cars). You build it and we will watch!
Lol left it up there and will find it when you make a cover for that monstrous hole.
Congrats! 2023 is going to be a blast!
build a little frame on a pallet and go up on the forklift to reach stuff
You will fill it up quickly, Congrats
Janelle, you are such a good sport, he gets you to do some amazing stuff!! This is way more dangerous than wheeling... cool out-ro too!!!
THAT ALL LOOKED VERY DANGEROUS! WHO NEEDS A TREE WHEN YOU GOT A CHICKEN!
Awesome production...!
The shop is coming along.
Really good video, I like your content. I do want to see more of that Comanche and the old C10.
HAPPY Holidays , congratulations on the new shop space
I saw that ramcharger out there! Can't wait to see that build. Finding one without a substantial amount of rust is kind of amazing. Congrats on the new shop space
