This is President Nayib Bukele’s prison.
It’s the largest prison in Latin America, and it was built only a couple of years ago. Before he took office in 2019, El Salvador had the highest murder rate in the world.
Now, it has the second lowest crime rate in the Western Hemisphere, right after Canada. Countless governments are shocked at this almost overnight change.
And some say this came at a great cost.
Others say Bukele’s brutal crackdown was a long time coming.
Let’s explore El Salvador’s bloody war on gangs, its escalating violence, and its inevitable consequences.

My wife and her family are all from El Salvador and they couldn’t be happier. Yes the people are trading rights for security but the hell they have been in for so long, this is nothing.
Why are you so concerned of how are those criminals are punished? Would you rather pamper them in prisons? They tortured and unalived all their victims, is it fair to the victims?

This is a good short term strategy long-term no. 1) Not all those convicted are guilty some just piled with the rest of them after a football star complained they released the father so what about others who aren't famous
2) Economically speaking some of those men whoc an be rehabilitated can contribute to the economy
3) Arrest them then what? Even in the U.S there are probation
4) Some of those people joined because of failures from El Salvador to solve the issue. They were trapped and that's one of their few options.
Not saying I disagree with his strategy yet long-term what's the plan?

Exactly! The pain he feels for the gangsters is sickening. No concern for the raped women and girls or fathers kidnapped and killed or ransomed. No concern for young boys forced into the gangs. No concern for those who were tortured. Unreal.
I could actually send you the videos of what the ms 13 and 18 used to do before bukele, if you can stomach the videos then give me an opinion and tell me to feel sorry for those mofos. My dad brought my family and i to the US because of the gangs violence. I lived it in real life, and suffered the lost of siblings and friends at the hands of the gangs.

And the United States, I think the crime wasn’t too bad a few years ago. Recently, they’ve been passing laws that Ben like pro crime. And inflation is getting higher, probably increasing crime as well.

Bukele’s administration has been the most impactful within the smallest timeframe in the history of Democratic nations.
