I'm a 61 year old American...Good to see there are still bands out there that actually do play instruments, write their own songs and don't rely on synthesized voice technology and mixing. Although they are pretty much all in Europe! Great Music over there... Bands such as Caravan Palace, Parov Stelar and Katzenjammer...Great Talent and Music. Yes at 61 I'm probably one of the oldest of their new fans...Rock on!

I've been to a concert of Caravan palace in Hamburg this February and it was awesome and for some reason the crowd has been awesome too!
it really pains my soul how she tries her best to encourage the crowd but they actually manage to stay as calm as a dead fly when she gives her best on the stage

Ah... Europe. Where the bands are freaking amazing, but the crowds completely suck. I mean, is this a concert, or a funeral FFS? I saw Caravan Palace in NYC a few months ago and they put on an incredible show and the audience was jumping of the walls the whole night. The Electro Swing genre really needs to get noticed by alternative radio here in the States so we can get more great bands like these guys to tour this side of the Atlantic and more often.
One explanation here might be that the majority of the crowd didn't necessarily come especially for Caravan Palace. However I agree with you, and the singer noticed it also, she tries at 3:55 to wake them up...
Fair point about crowds at a multi-act festival type event not necessarily being there to see a particular band and maybe not being as familiar with them. But this is not the first video I've seen where a European audience just doesn't seem as visibly engaged or animated as a typical US crowd. I've noticed many live videos of both US and European native acts performing at a European venue where the vocalist is struggling to get the crowd to move/and/or sing along. It seems just as painful to watch for me on CZcams as it must have been for them onstage lol.
If you want to see the crowd dancing, go to the clubs and official live concerts. Just came back from the concert and the crowd was dancing and jumping all the time. Awesome!
Never had any bad experience with a dead crowd at any of my concerts that i went to. Thats just one reason to skip festivals at all. I mean, a festival is quite mainstream, but i think bands don't expect to have a nice crowd there ;)
Compare it to their performance at Le Trianon... Completely different. And both were (mainly) French audience. Crowd engagement is a hit and miss.
@@fonix232 i was at their concerts in Rome and munich and both times the crowd was absolutely electric and the ppl were having a fantastic time dancing and jumping

jesus, what's up with that crowd?! I was at 2 caravan palace concerts and everytime the roof nearly blew off but here they all look so bored.
Compared to videos of CP just 7 years before, this performance is just phoned in, by a bunch of parents still in a band. No mojo anymore.

Don't expect the exact song if you're going to a live concert, most bands give the live version a spin on it. Which in my opinion sounds amazing and is really refreshing compared to the usual song.

I got lucky at their concert in munich this year because pretty much the original band was on stage. Even Hugues came back.
