Coach, you're a great teacher the way you slow down and slowly move through the technique like that. Most instructors just want to talk at you telling how to do the move then expect you to just do it over and over again rarely taking note of what's going on.

6:56 when my instructor gets me in a NS kimura, way he showed it is to have back side knee off the mat and into the shoulder blade like a kick stand. I think this escape would work on most people. That simple sitting on the head isn’t a good enough clamp on the torso. But I’m definitely going to try this with that thumb pad grip 🤙

to stop the kimura escape from north south if figure fouring the left or right arm lets say the left place your rright leg over the left knee trap it pull it towards there face with your right leg putting him belly down this wiil put more presure on the left shoulder as he is belly down your right knee placed tightly to the left side off the head tighten it all up it will kill the escape as your opponent is forced to go belly down this will apply more pressure to the shoulder to finish the lock quicker it is very important not to let the opponent head escape from your left knee .
    2010 the master c shutdown...

Yes, don't grab your arm, grab his. I've been doing that for years, it's very confusing for the other person. That's why the attacker needs to be able to switch from kimura to armbar smoothly. Most people, even blackbelts, actually suck at using the kimura.
