wiring harness from Jeff works fantastic and make it a simple install. I got for my 2015 mdx works great. thank you
Excellent demonstration of a Switchback light - thank you
When I put mine it they keep switching from amber to white n turn signal on my odometer
Are there any of these which are red/amber instead of white/amber with the red being a bit less bright so that they can be run as running lights?
If you change out the relay you would have to do led lights for the front and back? What if you just changing out the front turn signal to leds but not the back how would that affect the stock bulbs in the back of your car?
Hey, will this product work for 2017 optima??
Great video! Good information, thanks!
Another awesome video thanks
Hey this was a great video, along with the educational side!!! Thank you!!!!!!!
Dope review man 💪🏼
Where did you buy the plug in play socket
What type of resistor harness do you have?
Great video thanks man!! 🤙
Is it the same white color as the headlights? And foglights?
I just bought Toyota c-hr exl 2018 I want those led . you know which one to buy
I put these in a 2010 Tundra and the driving lights and parking lights light up amber. They only turn white when the headlights are on. Very disappointed with these.
How do I find this with only amber lighting I don’t want white leds
I have a 98 camry with everything but the front signal as led's using an led relay. Would these work out the box (without issue)or should I use resistors? I need an 1157A bulb
For bmw e60 2003 its ok?
I looking for rear amber led turning light bulb for Honda CR-V 2004 and no one has it. Every body sent me the wrong one (1156 and 1157).
My 2000 Lexus don't flash amber it stay white when I turn on the flasher and it doesn't flash just stays solid white
Good video, just wanted to corroborate the golden resistors are no good.
Are they too bright for oncoming vehicles?
I had the auxito ambers with inbuilt resistors, yes they get hot but so do incandescent bulbs. I removed them because they were blinding bright. I dimmed using an inline resistor but then the hyperflashing errors came.
The hyperflashing happens because of the build in resistor on those types of led bulb. The temperature gets too hot that it triggers the hyperflashing to occur until the bulb cools down.
Lasfit keeps on the white LED with the amber light when using turn signal. I’d much prefer Lasfit
I have an 02 Pontiac Firebird. I installed load resistors in when I used just Amber LED bulbs. I got a set of these switch backs, and they worked fine for a few minutes. White when running, and amber when using turn signals. But after a minute or 2 they run amber only. Sometimes after using the turn signal they'll go back to white after completing the turn, but quickly go back to amber. Do I need to use another load resistor on the constant power wire as well as the intermittent power wire? Please help.
Do you know if the led is 6k led or white
European vehicles, especially like BMW, you can simply code the hyper flash out.
But is it really worth the effort of that much work? For look? Or for what?
Question I got a set for my 2011 Ford Escape and they blink fast where can you the plug and play box that will fix all 4 corners I replace the front and back lights with LLED's
Hemi Da Key2pwr you need inline resistors to fix the hyper flash
brother if this cars still exist in your life , can you do a video how to install the relay ?
what about when you arm the alarm?, I have a JDM ASTAR Pair and they take long to flash, so no front flashing on mine when arming :(
press the lock on the remote multiple times rapidly and it will flash.
If a Resistor gets 400Deg, you are not heatsinking it properly. 400Deg?
Thanks Jeff for doing these videos. What are your favorite switch back bulbs? Thinking of getting a set. TIA
3030 smd chip are bright. It can be a little too bright. I've had the jdmastar version for the past 2 years or so but one of them became defective so I'm just trying a different brand.
DIY: Car Modz Thanks Jeff. Hopefully there's a good set out there that last.
I originally dont have DRL. I used leds that came with resistors. I dont have hyper flash, i have problem that while my parking lights are on (white led), when i turn on turn light it has a delay. Like normal turn light blinks twice while these led blinks only once. And it has a small delay while switching to orange/amber. It goes a bit white then amber.
How can I fix it?
Thanks
i have the same issue, I Just installed them a few hours ago, I have a flash relay to stop the hyper flash, but I'm hoping the relay will help the color switch delay. either there's a wiring thing or just, they're Built to have a delay
So say you don't install resistors. I don't mind the hyplerflashing, just as long as the DRL stays white. Until signaling obviously. But I also heard without resistor's it may night be as bright. Thoughts? Anyone?
Without resistors, the majority of bulbs will work until using blinker, just turns to amber but no blinking.
If I add a led flasher relay will it affect my stock headlights at all?
nope.
Hi mate, brilliant vids.
Quick question, what are the best led headlights that you've tested? Also, are there any good ones that don't have a fan but that are super bright?
Thanks
Not sure if you went ahead and purchased any LED's (this post was a year ago..) However, I just recently purchased the Headlight Revolution "Perfect Fit" 9012 LED's they are FANLESS and so far, I LOVE them!! No fans, no noise. Excellent heatsink and designed to actually cut back a little on the brightness in the event that they start to get too hot (there is an integrated temperature chip that does this, eliminating the need for a fan). I did a TON of research before I purchased and felt confident in the price (59.99) and so far, I saw that they are extremely worth it!! Go on the Headlight Revolution website and check out the excellent informative videos.
@@thomasstokes9584 unfortunately it seems they don't sell H2
Is there a link to the relay to stop the hyper flashing?
Go to your local auto parts store
So what is brighter jdm astar or auxito?
Auxito is better, planning on testing Alla Lighting, they seem superior
Curious as to why people handle the LEDs with their bare hands when installing them. Won't they burn out from the oils in our hands like the incandescents?
They have a silicone coating not an oil coating
If you do this get Jeff's adaptors.
Nice and easy to install.
Have mine for over a year now and works great.
David Hughes Jeff's adapators? Is that a brand, any more info?
tahjo7.
Jeff is the publisher of this video.
Check his other videos for the plug & play resistor.
Everything is linked in the video description.
I also purchased Jeff's adapter. I rather pay extra for the PNP than splice wires because when it comes time to selling the car you can revert to stock with ease. Thanks Jeff.
+1 I can vouch for this too, I'm surprised he doesn't advertise it much in his videos. plug and play is amazing.
@Diycarmods I have the same lights brand new but the white light doesn't come on and the amber light just hyperflash. My front turn signal s%ocket has 2wires connected to it not 3 wires so what can I do to get the white light to come on
In order for the switchback to work, either your factory turn signal bulb has to be dual filament bulb or you have to modify your factory turn signal socket to a 3 pin socket and tap into the parking light. czcams.com/video/xY6rK4EjRZ4/video.html
I just received these bulbs and they came with the resistors and wiring. I have a 2014 Honda Accord Coupe Ex-L. I didn't see you install a resistor in the video so is it necessary for my vehicle, if so, how do you do this?
Please link me the exact item you purchased. This switchback led bulb did not come with resistors or any other wiring.
Hey I have these and everything works but with the bright led Drl they don’t come on at all just the turn signals how do I get them to work?
What car do you have?
Honda CR-V 2004, led light bulb 1156 work on reverse, and 1157 work on brakes, so which one work on blinking or signing light? Thanks
2004 CRV Rear Turn Signal bulb is 7440
Hello DIY: Car Modz , does this particular model has the delay between steady and blinking modes?, I'm planning on replacing my JDMAstar switchbacks since they have a delay and my front parking lights wont blink when armning/disarming the alarm...
Yes, there is a delay just like a factory stock audi vehicle that comes with switchback turn signal. Press the lock twice and it will blink.
@@DIYCarModz thank you!! Try that with mine (jdm) with no results, hope this ones Will work better
Ernesto Gonzalez did you end up getting these? I’m currently looking for a new set of bulbs. I like the turn signal flash feedback when locking or unlocking my car so, I might skip on the JDMAstar and get these.
Just installed same bulb on my 2003 bmw and they are not switching back at all just are white. I know they are the switchbacks but are not switching back. Let me know if there is a solution to this
What model and trim is your 03 bmw. Is your stock front turn signal bulb a dual filament bulb?
its been a little over a year, do these still work?
Yes, it still works.
Can you still install switch back led on non dual incandescent plug?
Has to be dual contact socket
What if i just left it as it is with the hyper flashing affect, will it make any problems ?!
osama ahmed it will attract cops
It will burn out the led faster
I drive a commercial truck and I'm thinking I may leave it fast to get noticed by other drivers quicker. stands out more.
Do you have any recommendations for a 2017 Mercedes CLA 250 ?
So no resistors right jus plug an play an no hyperflash?
You need to install resistor or else you will get hyperflashing when changing stock turn signal bulb to led.
DIY: Car Modz 👍🏼thanks
Dude how can i change the relay to led relay on my 2015 v6 sport honda accord
You have to install load resistors. You can't swap out the relay. Like I mentioned in the video... "newer vehicles, the flasher relay is soldered onto the circuit board, you can't change it out..."
“V6 Sport” hahaha just if they made one! Good joke
Tyler M probably got a sport wishing he had a v6. Just like me 😭
J Rod Yeah same here hahaha the struggle is real
i have 2008 model toyota rush,can i change realay?
I use auxito I'm my car. Almost all bulbs are from them
So I bought these and it turns out the socket is just a blinker, can I just add a live wire to the positive of the blinker and it'll work?
You have to change the socket as well. You need to find a dual filament bulb socket that will fit into your headlight housing. I have done it on my Honda Fit. The hard part will be finding a socket that will fit the housing. czcams.com/video/xY6rK4EjRZ4/video.html
@@DIYCarModz thank you man I ordered dual function sockets for my car and they work perfectly 🙏
I have led turn signals on the rear tail lights on my 17 accord. If I install these will I get hyper flash? And let’s say I do install these in the front and don’t like them and go back to halogen, will the hyper flash still occur ? I ordered these exact ones and I’m wondering if they’ll work
Yes, you will get hypeflash. You need to install load resistors.
Out of the box, the hyper blink on my 06 avalon
I installed these in daytime running lights but they only light up amber... I only wanted white, do you know why?
What car do you have?
2007 Chevrolet Tahoe
@@joeyramirez8337 Which bulb did you purchae? 3157 to 7443
@@DIYCarModz the online order says 3030
@@DIYCarModz then it list 3157, 4157, 3155, 3457 chipset
I bought dual led turn signals, had a load resistors, put them in and they only blinked and didn't stay on. Could you tell me what I'm missing?
What car do you have? Year make model and trim.
@@DIYCarModz 2016 accord lx
Could be 2 issues. (1) you didn't purchase the correct bulb type. 2013 - 2015 Accord Sedan uses 1157, Coupe uses 3157 and 16-17 uses 7443. (2) you didn't turn on the headlights or the parking light fuse is blown.
When I put the stock bulbs back on everything works normally. Unless it's the bulbs or the resistors
then you either purchased the wrong bulb or installed the resistor incorrectly.
Where I can buy the relay
depends on your year make and model
takashi honda eBay
Do you have the plug and play relay for a mazda 6 2009? I dont want to install resistors in every light bulb
I bought a pure yellow color and I saw that they flashed quickly and needed resistance.
hui ren what kind of resistance you needed?
So is it a pure white?
Yes, its pure white.
How have these held up
I still use them today.
@@DIYCarModz cool i got some for my pathfinder im gonna let em stay hyper tho
Can you list a link to the Relay ?
