  • Here's Why THESE ARE THE VERY BEST AUTOMOTIVE LEDs YOU CAN BUY!!
This Is THE MOST EXPENSIVE LED YOU CAN BUY!!!
In this video I show the differences between cheap and expensive automotive LEDs. I also show why I think the expensive version is the best! While I do own and have installed a bunch of cheap LEDs, I have learned that you really do get what you pay for. I've had good luck with some, terrible luck with others, but in the daytime running light (DRL) location I just couldn't skimp out. The DRLs are a bulb that runs constantly while driving during the day and therefore I needed an LED that could handle heat. This Sylvania ZEVO 3157 has a giant heat-sink which is just what I needed.

I bought an older version of the 3157 LED bulbs from Sylvania and ran into issues having both a blinker function and a daytime running light function. I called up Sylvania and got a friendly person on the phone who told me the issue had been resolved in their newer version (like the ones you have in your video) and the woman sent me some new ones for free. Incredible customer service and quality

I bought these lights as well. Sylvania Zevo are quite literally are the best tail light, turn signal, and interior lighting option you can buy. Yes they are expensive but they last forever. They never have any issues or failures. The quality on the bulbs is top notch. Heat dissipation is something Sylvania really focussed on. And Sylvania uses the best LED diodes. They hand to pick them to be the best quality for quality control. 👌👌

I had smoked out lenses and had to find orange LEDs for those sockets. If the stock bulbs for both DRL and turn signals are the same then it's plausible, yes. I had the 3157 ZEVO but I found the 3157 Sylvania Silverstar was considerably brighter. The problem with many LEDs are they do not dissipate the light patterns correctly. The reflector lens in the light housing is designed with the light reflecting off with light being output at the correct angle. Many of the brightest LEDs can wash out quickly and actually put out less light than a mid of the line incandescent if it does not reflect the light off the back of the housing correctly.

Good informational video and your thoughts are 100% on the money. Do it right the first time. I've been using Sylvania ZEVO's in my BMW's and other cars for the past 6 years (both interior an exterior bulbs) and have yet to have one burn out. Best LED bulbs out there, IMHO. Aside from the lower power consumption and lower heat output, they also provide better light than the incandescent bulbs they replaced. The ZEVO's seem to fill the reflectors more fully with light, and they are instant on instead of the light ever so slightly ramping up like an incandescent bulb. Makes a noticeable improvement on bulbs like the brake and turn signals. They ARE more expensive than everything else, but are 100% worth it.

I went Zevo crazy on my car, 2011 Crown Vic, the interior feels like a much newer car simply from the different light temperature and the fact that they are are MUCH brighter than the stock incandescent bulbs. As for the turn signals and brake lights, the improvement is very noticeable. Take this with a grain of salt as results may vary based on the lens and reflector of the housing you're replacing the bulb for. Overall, these are worth the cost and considering their warranty, I haven't found better. Only warning is to make sure you can locate your factory turn signal relay so you can either replace it or bypass it with an LED compliant flasher module. If your electrical system had all incandescent to start with, it is expecting the resistance of incandescent bulbs. Switching to all LEDs will trigger the hyper flash of your turn signals which normally signals a burnt out bulb. This may vary but will most likely be the case.

I have these installed on my car and believe me they are great!!! I have them as break red LED! good choice! , by the way you should change the burnt socket and also clean the lamp for better brightness.

I bought the Sylvania zevos for my brake lights are much brighter and run cooler than the glass bulbs.

I put these in rear tails of 05 accord, and they were dimmer than the stock halogens. Had ibrightstars over 4 yrs now. Fill housing nicely.

Jimmy thank you for all your good advice and yes the Zevo LED's are awesome. One bit of advice if you try to also replace your back up lights. When I changed the back up lights with the Zevo's I immediately got a "SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE" error message. When I went back to the 3157's the error message went away. I would love to hear from anyone else who has a 2003 2500 Chevy Sub that ie 4X4. Thank you Jimmy

Heard some people had to install some type of resistors to fix these types of issues.

Ayyy nice content, I might get those for my 2000 suburban! My only concern is that they won't produce enough heat in snow conditions...I know a lot of Jeeps have that problem when you switch to LEDs and then your headlights get frozen over while you're driving

Informative video. My truck uses DLR and turn signal on the same bulb. That being said, will these cause "hyperflash" when using turn signal? Would you use thse for brake lights and reverse lights? I would guess not since revese lights and brake lights are used for short period unlike DLR. Thanks.

I have red ZEVO’s in my rear tail light/turn signals. They are a deeper red and look good.
But every premium Sylvania headlight stinks. They have a 1 year warranty and that’s about how long they last. Same with their home bulbs.
I buy premium Philips for my headlight bulbs and they not only last longer, but are about $15 cheaper per pair.

Hands down: LasFit, I run their daytime running lights in my 05 Sierra. Bright asf and haven’t had issues for months. Compared to the GTR leds I ran for a month and one burnt out. They’re built well to dissipate heat. They’re the best. I run diode dynamics SL1 in my low beam high beam and fogs and love the heck out of them. No ussues for months.

Las fit has tiers of LEDs from meh to the upper tier range. I ran their Cob chip LEDs in my fogs for 5 years and would get flashed sometimes. traded the car in last August.
The cob chipset led I ran was like the lowest one they offered and I thought it was great
