I especially loved how diverse the cast was. There was so much representation of all ages, races, genders, sexualities and it all felt natural not forced. In the end the message is Love Yourself I guess. He is so damn cheeky but the song is SO good and a vibe.

So my interpretation of the mv:
First iteration, he’s lonely and walks through the world where everyone is in love. He’s not synced up with the happiness. But he sees everyone and is tired of it because he wants what they have.
Second time, he’s finally got a partner but the world now is in disarray. Something is still off. He’s got what they have so why is he still not synced up with them? But when the car hits him (I think this represents that relationship ending), he smiles in “death” because he finally realizes what is missing the whole time.
Third time, he wakes up with himself. I say this is a representation that he has to love himself first.
So the world around him is both a literal and symbolic representation of his inner turmoil of wanting to have a relationship. But he needs to do it properly so to speak. Otherwise, he can’t be as happy in his own way as everyone else who are happy in their own ways.
Septa... I've watched so, so many reactions to this mv, but I have to say your interpretation was unique. But I really like the idea and it does fit. Most people go the traditional: he was alone and it seemed like everyone else was in love...etc. Thanks for giving another perspective that I think I like better.

This was filmed in UK with UK director and UK actors. To me, life goes on and friends and love ones could come and go too (however we see "me or others in" relationships) - end of the day there is yourself who you have to deal with...😅 Greetings from the north edge of Europe

Also...the concept of how everyone was basically making out & being so disgustingly in love around him when he was single & when he had a partner , the same ppl are seen arguing and fighting around him....was such a brilliant thought 👏

I’ve watched this many times as an excuse to listen to the song. Both the love and fight scenes remind me of art that portrays hundreds of tiny individual scenes you can only see from very close examination. In this video, I still haven’t found all the couples. It’s a very big deal in Korea to represent sexuality other than het, so this is rather a blockbuster video. Spotting each non- traditional couple is another victory for Koreans. V is a hero for making this video. Yeah, I try to figure out the (end) in friend message, and being in love, and 2 Vs in bed, too.
The best interpretation I’ve read is that while we’re in love but unrequited , we see love around us. While we’re a couple, we only see each other and not the world around us.
Everyone says it’s best to be with ourselves or love yourself about the ending. Idk about that.
I just think the ending is trippy. Seriously imagine another you being there when you wake up. I would just scream and call 911.

I think the reason you got so many requests for this song is because you have been following your own big queue of BTS stuff to react/upload & that sometimes makes you backlog farther & farther back, thus ARMY wanted to you guys to stay updated on the most latest current BTS activity & this song is basically just that, so that you won't have to react to this many months later when the buzz for it had already died down even further. Hopefully you understand the MV's ending, as it is what you already know BTS has been proselytizing for many years now.
