I have never heard of a trial that let the prosecutions witnesses slander and lie ,while the judge over ruled every objection that the defense made. When the defense called thier witness, the truth was not allowed to be spoken in the court room, every time that the prosecution objected, the judge sustained the objection. Then he cleared the court room to chastize the defense witness in private. Would anyone explain to me how this could possibly be legal, or even allowed to take place in America.

Costello testified purely as a stalking horse for trump. He was there to act out, to essentially do what trump would do on the stand to see how the judge would react. It backfired on them big-time because Costello carried so much baggage that even though he likely made trump happy he actually strengthened the prosecution's case.
I'm frankly surprised that Merchan didn't throw him in jail for contempt but that would have required striking his testimony which would mean the jury couldn't consider it during deliberations. But given that he was the only real witness the defense put on the stand I suspect Merchan decided they deserved to have the "defense" of their choice.
So now the jury will have all of Costello's testimony, which directly implicates trump in the entire scheme, as part of their deliberations.
I'll be surprised if they don't find trump guilty of most of the charges.
But to me it looked like the most incompetent defense every presented and it was probably all orchestrated by trump since most of the arguments, questions and that witness, were exactly what trump wanted said, asked and testified to. So now he's ruined the careers of at least two of his trial lawyers though maybe Necheles might survive with some kind of reputation still intact.
