  • Ty Cobb, former Special Counsel to President Trump & former Federal Prosecutor, shares his insight on why the public has to wait a week before the jury will be able to deliberate on former President Donald Trump's hush money trial. Cobb states that he expects the jury to convict Trump, and talks about why he thinks the former President did not testify in his own defense. Ty Cobb speaks with Kailey Leinz and Joe Mathieu on Bloomberg's 'Balance of Power."

    Counsellor, if the trial judge is doing an excellent job managing the trial, why would there be issues about campaign finance to be resolved on appeal? Shouldn’t the judge have jurisdiction or allow expert witness to testify about how to interpret and apply election campaign finance law?

    • @garygoodrich7495
      @garygoodrich7495 Před 24 dny

      The felony is falsifying business records to cover up another crime. The first crime leaves no doubt...or need for interpretation. While running for public office it is illegal for a candidate to pay money in a catch and kill scheme to a media outlet or pay money to an individual to keep them quiet. That's a clear violation of campaign finance law.

    Funny as hell... the 1st guy starts by stating it's kind of tough to find him guilty of the "Felony" version of the book keeping charge because it requires some other crime to go with it. An NDA contract is not illegal and I'm wondering if they actually tied him to that...not that it should matter. I guess that leaves some kind Ellection crime.... like doing the NDA because of the ellection... didn't search about the election during the trial.
    Either way I'm thinking should Trumps lawyers point out in their Closing... that Trump is not, has not, and doesn't look to be charged with anything other than the charges in this train, which require a higher level offense the make the book keeping charges even chargeable.

    • @djhergert1995

      @theodorejay1046 He said they were legal fees, which they were. Stormy Daniels got paid 130k but Trump paid Cohen back over 400k. That right there tells you the payments to Cohen involved other legal matters that Cohen was doing for Trump at that time and not just repayment to Cohen.
      Plus an NDA is a legally binding legal document, so it's not hard to see how it could be seen as a legal expense. Do you honestly expect Trump to put "Hush Money payment" on the check? That's crazy, because by doing that it could be argued that he was violating the non disclosure agreement.
      Trump also wasn't the one that said to label it a "Legal Expense."
      Cohen tried to claim that Trump, while he was in the White House was still micro managing what was happening at his company, which is absurd. If Trump was so involved in all the fine details of everything how did Trump not notice that Cohen was committing Grand Larceny (Stealing) right under his nose?
      This whole thing is a farce.
      Trump will more than likely be found guilty though because it's next to impossible for him to get a fair trial in a district that Biden won 87% of the vote in, especially during an election that Trump is on track to win.
      The guilty verdict will 100% be overturned but the Democrats don't care about that because they know it will be after the election. The poll numbers are so against them right now that they believe this is their only chance at winning. Label Trump a felon on some BS and hope Biden can limp across the finish line.
      Thankfully recent polling is showing that the majority of Americans view this case as purely political and a guilty verdict doesn't hurt Trump.

Cohen claims he also said he told Trump about the Stormy Daniels Payment in the same phone call. The evidence doesn't show that and there is some doubt about whether Cohen really did talk to trump.
