Long Range FPV - Tree Gap to Shear Cliff at 100kph+ GoPro 11

- Aiming for a dive gap while going over 100kph made these flights a bit unnerving. A crash at that speed would smash my FPV drone to pieces. But the mountain was perfect for it with its tall shear cliff and incredible ridge lines, so I had to give it a try. I did the first four flights with my analog RAD Li-ion build using 18650 li-ion batteries. After getting used to the flight lines and making sure I would always have line of sight to the drone I switched to my Falcon RPM build with 3000mAh lipos and the DJI 03 air unit for the improved video clarity and maneuverability.

Love from India ❤❤❤❤❤
man we have a great hobby! Like riding a motorcycle in the sky! Beautiful flights!!!!
The only thing that holds us back is fear, and the big thing for me is trust your gear, you always push the limits every time you take a long-range flight, thanks for sharing
Well said!
oldguyFPV says; It's all about the gap!!!
Conrad!..SIC man,WOO WHO!! Killing it man. 👍👍
Thanks buddy!
Awesome mountain and awesome flight. Thanks for share with us
Thanks for watching
Nice Attempts! I would love to see you truly hit that tree gap someday! The video was great either way though. I really enjoyed the slow climb up the vertical section - as much as I love dives and epic views, seeing pretty much inaccessible terrain so close up and in such clear video is always amazing!
Incredible, next level! The footage is insane
Brilliant run 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
Uff, that was high risk for sure! Crazy good location!
Pretty sick flying, dude! And what a breathtaking place! Stunning Indeed! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thanks so much for all your comments!
Always stunning; fantastic 🤙🏻
Thank you so much 😀
Amazing as usual!!
My legs were shaking while I was watching this video. Even if I wasn't the pilot!!!
Amazing mountain surfing and keeping things on the edge as usual! Always inspiring and glad to see a new video! Thanks Falcon!
More to come!
Man, I love your stuff. Thank you!
Much appreciated!
Great stuff! Thanks for sharing the process, it's a lot harder than it looks.
Thanks.
Sheesh that GoPro was holding on for dear life haha
Amazing runs with plenty of pucker factor and a bit vertigo induction. The flips caught me off, but then I kept envisioning you tapping the wall as to just miss a hand hold, swooning backwards followed by a blind fall with a slow vertical yaw spin with a glimpse , a speeding blur of the wall. Near the bottom you look upward with a quickly diminishing pendulum like yaw waggle and then a quick fade to black and then as quick a recovery to normal flight. I'm sweating now. Never-mind, I like your choreography.
Breath taking views and flying. Well done! You are one failsafe away from spending days trying to recover your quad if it is even possible to reach it. I still say that you'd freak out if I was on that ridge waiting for you in a Yeti suit!
Stunning. 😁
Thank you! 😊
Skillz!!
Thanks!
Great!!! 👏👏👏
Thank you! 😃
A real pioneer in long range FPV, thanks for generously sharing your experience and great videos. Always happy when a new one comes out. Is this landscape in the USA or Canada?
Thanks for watching! Canada.
The ascent is almost as epic as the ridge flow and dive! Did you use the stock antenna on the 03? Also curious what antenna you have on the tbs crossfire Tx. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks very much! The 03 had two TrueRC Singularity antennas and my crossfire TX had a TrueRC TrueMox antenna.
Music can make or break this kind of footage
Wawoooo nice ❤❤❤❤
Thanks 🤗
eeek!, it was a tricky gap to eyeball,
Amaaaaazing !! Is this in analog ?
First four flights were analog and the next four were with DJI 03.
Nice job! crazy sick spot ! 🔥🔥🔥i'm jello! lol , i just know i need to build a long range now ! at least set up one i have for it !
You can do it!
Rad
what antenas do you recommend for a 5 inch quad for long range?
If it's a 5" your likely going maybe 3 or 4 km out at most so I think the standard immortal T would do fine. It'll need to be out in the open though not tucked up against the arms or battery or something. The more open space there is around your antenna and the higher it sticks up the better your signal will be. If you're referring to video antennas then a TrueRC Singularity is the only antenna I put on any quad for long range. I don't use them for freestyle though, a little too expensive to be beating them up. I've never seen anything work as well as a singularity for a solid long range video signal no matter what orientation the drone or antenna is in.
What firmware are you using, inav or betaflight?
I've always used Betaflight. I don't use any autonomous functions. Well maybe GPS rescue every now and again.
can this kind of flying be automated, or is it only possible with a remote human pilot? i know it ruins the fun i'm just kinda curious about the technical limits
An automated flight like this would not be possible with any consumer grade drone. That's part of the thrill of flying FPV, it's damn hard to get shots like this any other way.
Always breathtaking and your videos are getting better and better 🏆👍!
Nearly unbelievable … 🫶👏👏
Best greetings and stay healthy ✊✊
Much apprciated!
those are fantastic shots already. no need to push luck any further. remember you not only risk to watch your quad tumbleling down that mountain but also the camera and both will be forever gone. work on getting those amazing lines a bit smoother. not just closer at all costs. 🫡🫶🏻🤙🏼
nicely done
Thanks so much!
