- By now maybe you're on your way to becoming a milk steaming pro but you still can't quite pour a heart that makes your crush swoon. Don't worry, you're not alone. clivecoffee.com/blogs/learn/t...
Sam breaks down the six areas that baristas struggle to overcome in their mastery of latte art, so you can finally nail that drink presentation on the bar.

1:44 - Pour height and timing
2:35 - Commitment issues
3:43 - The wiggle

it was super helpful to get the side shots to really see how great the distance from the cup is supposed to be!
It's funny how she was working so hard to mess up to demonstrate the mistakes. And even so the art came out nicely from some of the mistakes. 🤣
EXCELLENT vid, Sam and you nailed me (along with quite a few others, I'm sure.) I got the milk, pitcher, and correct cups BUT, lots of cloud snakes, etc. 🙂
Excellent vid. 😎👏🙌🏻 Thanks!🙏
Really helpful, especially the strike-through explanation and, well, really all of it.
Thanks for this great explanation!
some super fantastic thoughts and tips here that i have not heard anywhere else on the tons of latte art videos
Love your explanation
Thank you Sam 😆🥰👍
Excellent video!
Glad you liked it!
Great video Sam! What size milk pitchers would you recommend accordingly to both latte and cappuccino size cups? Thank you! Cheers! ☕
Hey! For a larger (12-16oz latte) we prefer a 20oz pitcher. For a cappuccino, a 12oz pitcher or smaller! A good rule of thumb is if your milk volume (when cold) hits below the halfway mark from the bottom of the spout to the bottom of the pitcher, you need a smaller size pitcher or more milk.
@@clivecoffee thank you so much for the reply! This clears up some confusion that others haven't explained in detail! 😀 Hey, there's a video idea for ya! 😉 Time to go purchase some cups and pitchers!
Nice 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 video
Thank you so much 😀
omg Sam you are ADORABLE. I really enjoyed this video. best from Clive lately. (if the latte tips didn't sell me already, the wink did 😉)
One thing I struggle with is art for cortados. I have the notneutral cortado glasses, and I want to make simple art. What size pitchers do you use for cortados? Is it possible to steam a small amount of milk for a cortado without wasting too much milk I won't use? Am I looking for a unicorn?
You should check out our video on milk steaming, we address this. czcams.com/video/4eZU6kRIm54/video.html
Use the smallest pitcher you can but know that you will have to steam a little bit more milk than you need so you can properly aerate to get the foam needed for latte art.
A great teacher-praise
Why didn’t I get a call to help drink the latte art disasters? 😢😜-criticism
Next time!
🙏😋😆
I wish I knew what was wrong with my art. The milk won’t float 😢
I am a huge offender of 2 drinks with one pitcher. The double cortado from 1 pitcher just makes too much sense!
I do not get this latte art thing. It is like "Let's make this terrible tasting meal look pretty".
Or... it's like adding a garnish to a great tasting meal ;)
@@clivecoffee At it finest, yes, but the trouble (for me at least) is when that decoration means you are drinking a lot of frothy milk with no coffee in it. Worse yet, when you have finished drinking the coffee and the cup is still filled with foam. My opinion of a garnish added to a great tasting meal is that it should be edible and compatible with the meal. Not a whole different thing. This chef sin is especially noticeable in some high end LA restaurants (pomegranate seeds or stinky goat cheese as a garnish?!) and USA cakes that get garnished with a fake cream foam...
It's funny how she was working so hard to mess up to demonstrate the mistakes. And even so the art came out nicely from some of the mistakes. 🤣
Haha! You'd be surprised how hard it was to recreate such common mistakes when you've been doing it for so many years.
