I loved this episode! Cecil and Simone were so transparent and real! For me and my husband we decided in our marriage. Divorce is not an option! Ever! No matter what comes and what may! It has worked for 34 years! I give him space to grow and he does the same for me. Through the good bad and ugly!! Lots of praying! Praise God we are still here. Thank you all for sharing. It was good.

Yes, partners can recognize when their partner is upset. It's the metric of compassion they have for you that shows up and demonstrates empathy or not. For instance, reaching out for a hug to calm the tension down or ask you questions to keep their partner reved up
Courtney B. Vance and Angela Bassett wrote a book years ago and they are going strong ❤
They didn’t sugar coat it. U can still see their distinct individuality although they are one. Great nuggets dropped from this couple.
Egypt be slaying with these locs! And from what I saw on Married2Med they were filing for that divorce because Cecil didn't want to break his "friendship" with his female golf buddy. They even asked if he had feelings for her at the reunion and he was slow to answer. Simone said that at the reunion that his friendship with that woman made her uncomfortable
Yep, you're exactly right and remember the same thing.
I think because his friend Tammy was meeting Cecil's needs that Dr. Simone was neglecting. As humans, we seek out things, people, etc. to fill voids, deficits, etc.

Awesome show! Do the book Mike and Egypt - marriage is a process because we're all growing and changing in life. It was mentioned, it's about who you want to grow with. To both couples: Any couples book would be a chronicle to where they are at this juncture. So the book would never be finished, it just marks what needs to be said now. You All are appreciated. OMG this was one of my favorites with Cecil and Dr. Simone. I love your podcast because one thing I learn from every couple as well as yourselves is that marriage is a constant. Loving is different from the beginning. It's evolution, compromise, communication.....whew it's a lot.

Book Jinx, I honestly believe that you could chose to call it whatever you feel but, that does not negate the fact that you have to be willing to do the work. When both parties do not elect to work together the marriage is headed down hill. It's not going to work because you can't make someone want to stay or love you when their not invested is continuing the journey of loving together. Thank you Egypt and Mike for your content. It's so needed.
I think that when you and your spouse really understand and know each other and take the time to get there, each one can know what the other needs with out saying it.
Cecil & Simone are my favorite couple on Married To Medicine, next, Toya & Eugene, followed by Dr. Jackie & Curtis!

I love Dr Simone and Cecil they both are real people! And I know I was a viewer crying at the reunion when she said she filled for divorce. As a young black married woman I love to hear from other married couples that's giving advice.
And that conversation is why I love Mike & Egypt 🥰
Funny part is Mike said he has gotten better at communicating but said it in a way that sounded better to him 😆.
I love myself some Egypt and Mike...I first started watching yall on Married to Real Estate and I love your playfulness with each other and that you can be serious but still checking each other out like you are dating...I have only seen a couple of the podcasts and that is all I need to be a new fan of it also...much love to you both and God bless you. Awesome show, love Simone and Cecil and especially love the segment talking about black women and our health and how we really need to stay proactive.
On a second note, that crush segment had me thinking too.. Egypt is a very beautiful woman and I have seen ALL of her HDGTV realty shows (multiple times, re-watching Property Virgins for the third time now and I truly wish that Egypt did some kind of training show to teach women how to use/handle tools she does). Mike is equally as handsome and talented as his lovely wife and they have a beautiful family. I can only wonder about the number of people that have tried to hit on you both. It must take lots of prayers, dedication to one another and will power to turn down all of those advances.

I agree Marriage is tough...but as Christians; Christ is our model according to Eph5:32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and church. That means, there's no divorce cause we don't get that with God. However we process any problems with patience and perseverance for the sake of the kingdom of God. So that divorce is not God's way for us.
Just a recommendation, Dr. Myles Munroe books have helped me understand relationships and finances. He gives perspective on men and women outlooks on marriage, child rearing, finances and various life situations.
Men......It's not always about trying to sokve the promlem....same with friend...sometimes you just need to be heard!
Crush seizes to be a crush if you cross the line… so he should just stay being a crush forever
