You singing "Water" brought back memories of my youth. My mom loved that song. But while you were singing, I couldn't help but notice all the freaking dern off-road tire tracks. Seeing those made me both sad and angry. Some people are so stupid. The deserts have sufficient areas for them to off-road with out them tearing up otherwise, pristine areas and playing at being a wild west shoot em up gunslinger on their steeds of rubber and steel while shooting up everything in sight. That totally makes me so mad. They could care less about the damage they create. It ruins the beauty of being in the desert. Those people will never learn and when it's all gone, they will be first to complain.
I love what you do and what you can by showing people the simple, harsh beauty of the desert. Your videos are outstanding and make me home sick to be in the desert again. Thank you for all you do!

1:35 Ah yes, Lake Manley. I remember it well. Fred, Barney, Bam Bam, Pebbles and I used to fish for corbina on its tranquil waters while pterosaurs glided overhead and a random T-rex prowled the shore looking for smaller therapods to munch on. Yes, those were the days. That cabin you explored is all that remains of our hunting camp. Seems like only yesterday.

Wonderhussy, I know it's been challenging for you to bring us content in the midst of all the turmoil and life changes you are dealing lately, and throw in ONE pandemic and you have the unenviable task of getting real creative with your immediate surroundings in the "valley of death" and let me just say... you fucking own the ability to keep your followers engaged! I for one am so appreciative of the effort you are making to keep things interesting. I am not a youtuber and I have no editing experience but I know from watching many of you guys that editing is one huge time consuming PITA! please know that at least one of your followers would tune in to your channel if all you did was sit down for dinner and talk about your day. As I went through the list to add a comment, it is bottomless. I wanted to tell ms. Hussy (I love her name) that you can tell a saltcedar, or tamarack just by putting a few leaves,(needles) in your mouth. They are pleasantly salty. I grew up with them. Yes to add insult to injury on the Colorado River they "had some bugs accidentally released " that would only eat tamerisik and stop at a certain latitude. Sure they will! They killed the trees ok but it takes a while for the Cottonwood trees to come back and all the creatures that live alongside the river left or died. You can check this out.

The instructor spent a lot of time talking about marshland and how birds use it in migration, a critical part of their lifecycle. This was in 1973. That marshland is long gone turned into McMansions..

Around 00:15:00 you mentioned the song "Cool Water" sung by The Sons of the Pioneers, funny, but in the early 1950's (when I was born) my dad was a USAF pilot at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson where he and several of his "Pilot Pals" had a Barber Shop Quartet and they actually recorded that song on 78 rpm vinyl records for their own personal use, not for sale. One of the singers was Lt Col. Henry John Deutschendorf Sr., (eventually a famed B-58 "hustler" record setting pilot), there are some youtube government vids that talk about and show him). (To make a short story LONG) Lt Col Henry John Deutschendorf Sr was the father of the once well know folk singer JOHN DENVER. ... and that's the rest of the story. lol

A suggestion on your house in the desert is to rent or borrow a thermal imaging camera to scan your walls and ceiling to see where your hot spots are. I would scan in the morning, noon, and evening. This will give an indication where you should insulate. Try this idea to see if it will work in reducing the heat on the walls; hang a tarp from edge of your eave and anchor to the ground there should be space between the tarp and your house. This air gap should prevent heat being transferred to the wall.

I am surprised that you didn’t mention how the burros have left evidence of their use of the water hole. I walked that same trail a week before you and saw the same bullet riddled sign - so cool to see what I saw then, now on your video.
You were sooo close to a geocache at the ‘cabin’.

Thank you for putting some joy and intelligence into the void that surrounded me and my batch of home made biscuits. A cold rain had driven me in to the cabin and biscuits were my only comfort until I clicked on your video and made a cup of hot buttered scotch with honey. Chills and lonliness both are gone. Thank you Sarah, I truly enjoy your voice and fanciful, intelligent descriptions of your adventures. Smiling, George.

Hot whiskey lemonade is my favorite. But usually reserved for hay fever season, when I have a scratchy throat.
Skull varnish too, but I forgot that recipe.

I was just out there a week ago and drove past this area without stopping. I’ll definitely do the hike next time.

So Lovely to watch you walk us back though the history of this harsh and rugged buity, and give a rebirth to those past brave addventiutists, your video
    Is like watering the desert
    it blooms once again.
