She is. They had posted last week they hoped to have her back running by mid summer, but who knows. She missed last summer season for service, and now another. Hopefully they get everything done she needs.

Unfortunately it isn't. The movie featured ex Sierra Railroad #31 which lives at a Historic Park in California. She was built in Patterson NJ in 1891 by Rogers Locomotive, and has made appearances in over 100 movies and TV shows.
Everett 11 was built in 1920 by the ALCO Cooke Works also in Patterson. She was one of 50 in different wheel areangements built to work the sugar cane fields in Cuba, but a massive drop in sugar prices caused the order to be cancelled. She worked several US shortlines and was retired from service in 1949. She then bounced through some private owners, including one museum until artiving at Everett RR in 2006 where restoration was begun. In fact, when Back to the Future 3 was filmed she was sitting in an enginehouse in NJ partially disassembled.
When Everett bought her, she was sent to the Western Maryland Shops in Ridgely WV (home of 1309. The first Loco in this video) for the heavy Repair and Restoration work. In 2015 she was trucked back to Everetts shop, restoration completed, and fired up in Fall 2015 for the first time since 1971.
